TBI has dropped the ball in their reporting, I don't disagree, but the media has way surpassed anything they have done in terms of crappy wording, losing the facts along the way and straight up making crap up. Bad reporting, regardless of where it comes from can and does ruin cases all the time. This case is clearly no exception.
I really don't understand why it is so difficult to do one's job. If reporting is your job, then actually spend some time, get the facts, fact check and stop pulling every headline you see of of twitter and facebook and running with it.
Ok, rant over.
Examples of media's crap-fest? I don't doubt there are some. Have any of media's fumbles made it more difficult for LE to do its job? Endangered the case? How so?
This is the backwoods, far from Nashville and Memphis, and Woodward and Bernstein aren't walking the hollows, it's true. TBI, however, is responsible for the entire state.
1. It is instructional to check out TBI's press releases, if one wants to see errors in wording and spelling. And this is how TBI represents itself to the public.
2. It is also instructional to check on TBI's reputation as an agency, and its difficulties over the last ten years.
