Someone who may know the person, imo. A snitch for lack of a better word. A family member, friend, coworker etc.

Is it a coincidence that the reward was increased the same day they arrested the RSO?

If they knew where she was and withheld info id think they would be in a big pile of trouble JMO

Didn't the article say the offended worked with someone else?

Usually there are requirements to collect reward money. Sometimes too the different sources of the money have different requirements. In general, if someone, say, calls crime stoppers and provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of someone in the/a case, then they can be eligible to collect some or all of the reward money. Other rewards may be for the safe return of perhaps a kidnap victim, etc. Again there are usually stipulations. We just had a local case get a conviction yesterday where money was paid out for the return of a kidnapped man but he was killed anyway (or was dead all along). But the killer was tried and convected.

That's what the article said. LE believes he wasn't acting alone.

What if the call is anonymous? How do they disburse the reward?:waitasec:

I don't see any realistic scenario where this reward money will ever have to paid. If someone knows and has known all along where she is, and she is alive, they are likely involved in some way. If someone calls and says "I think she might be in this house" that is not enough for a search warrant, even if she is in that house. Unless Holly left of her own will, I can't see her being alive, JMO.

Possibly but you could also claim that you didn't know the case was still open, that you didn't find out X until recently, etc. The person providing the tip may have just realized they had something of use to LE.

We had that case here with the murdered Rogers family that was ice cold until some time later they put a handwriting sample up on a billboard and tips came in based on that.

New information was released Wednesday, regarding the disappearance of nursing student Holly Bobo.

On Tuesday, a convicted violent sex offender who lives just miles from the Bobo home was arrested by police. So far the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has refused to comment on if 53-year-old Terry Britt was a suspect or connected with the Holly Bobo case

Many of his neighbors said they knew he was a registered sex offender and his recent arrest has made them wonder if he knew or was connected to Bobo's disappearance.

"We thought it because I said; they searched the land from across where I live. That's the first thing I thought. Maybe he had something to do with Holly going missing," said Judith Hall.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has not said if Britt was a suspect in Bobo's disappearance.

Britt is being questioned, but Mehr would not comment on whether this arrest has any connection to the Holly Bobo case. He said they question anyone arrested for similar offenses.

Mehr said they believe Britt may have worked with an individual or individuals in these and other offenses, but none are in custody.

Anyone with information in regards to the Britt case or the disappearance of Holly Bobo are asked to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.

thats how i see it also!

If she left on her own free will they couldnt use that 85 grand to get her back
It would mean there was no kidnapping or abduction! and they cant use the public funds

The problem with this case, however is nothing is being released. No new information and the information that's already out there is so convoluted.

It probably would've been more helpful if the reward was increased and at the same time LE or the family could release additional information? Like in your example. Something the public can look out for.
