Just a few observations from a day 1 case follower:
*I don't recall Clint ever saying he didn't think the person in the garage was Holly. He thought it was Holly and Drew. And a turkey.
*On day 1, this case was a "Home Invasion," later becoming an abduction. Those following Holly's case early on had several long discussions about semantics. Sadly, I do not recall the universal conclusions to which we collectively arrived.
*Realize that Holly left home between 7:30 and 7:40 that Wednesday morning. She was on the phone with a friend till 7:30 and said she was hanging up to put on her shoes and walk out the door. Her shoes were flip flops.
The scream that was heard by the neighbors occurred around this same time. Clint awoke around this time to outside voices. That was around 7:40. Clint witnesses Holly walking into the woods just before 8:00.
If you do nothing else, please do this:
Take a clock, place it in front of you and watch it for 15 minutes. Tick, tick, tick....tick, tick, tick.....tick, tick, tick....
This kidnapping (abduction...which ever term you choose) took almost 20 minutes! That is a lifetime! THIS DOES NOT OCCUR. Kidnappings are very quiet and quick. They take a shorter period of time than most other crimes, including murder or bank robbery. This perp was extremely confident...and probably cocky...and almost certainly inexperienced. Did he intend to abduct or just confront? Did something go wrong?
The time that was spent to complete this kidnapping, while a relative watched, is phenomenal.
This one fact alone speaks volumes to me....
Something isn't right.
There was that brief mention of not recognizing the two people in the garage, and even saying he heard "voices".
But, then the very next thing, he DOES think he knows who they are, why they were his sister and her bf, looking at a turkey.
But, on fifth thought or sixth thought, it might have been his cousin.
yet, nothing he's come up with explains why he'd phone someone who doesn't hold the answers when he could just have opened the door and spoke to them.
Although, it seemed at one time that calling his Mom was most fortuitious.
That she indeed could tell him the answer he was sort of seeking.
That the person wasn't Drew because he was currently being detained on
her mother's property and just so happened to know this through a flurry of
phone calls.
How any of the above is pertinent to the story if it could have been a cousin...now has yet to be explained.
A version told in the expediency of the moment, is suddenly a moot point.
For DS to go poof from the story is a curious change, if nothing else,
because of how many times Karen Bobo alone mentioned him.
She mentioned he was on her mother's land hunting.
She mentioned she had just spoke to him on the phone.
She mentioned it couldn't have been him and to get a gun and go after Holly.
She mentioned he texts her every night since.
She mentioned a bear he gave Holly.
She mentioned on a tv interview to a reporter that's the moment when she knew it wasn't Drew.
Specifically by name!
Meanwhile, no Drew ever showed up for any vigils, or made any statements
whatsoever.
He just not only got repeated mentions, HIS photograph with Holly was shown over and over and either captioned or was said by a reporter to be CLINT!!
Clint for his part says,
I spoke to Holly's bf the night before about his hunting trip.
I thought it was her bf.
I called her bf on the phone, but it rang 5 times and went to voicemail.
I called her bf later at work and asked him where Holly was and he said he
didn't know what I was talking about.
You know what I see missing in the above?
Any mention about a cousin, at all.
