What's the percentage chance that this search will produce new evidence? 10%? 30% More? Thoughts?

Hard to say when we don't know where and why they're searching, imo

Are they covering an area close to home or where the other items were found or just a random search? Were they given a specific tip to search a specific area?

Who is heading the search? Is it CUE?

The article linked above says CUE is organizing the search. I would think this search would be about clearing areas as much as it would be about looking for new evidence. They need to figure out all the areas where Holly and/or her belongings are not so they can move to other areas to search.

Unless there's been a credible tip received recently that suggested a specific area to search.

Note I am talking about catfish in the Eastern USA NOT the Danube river in Europe. Watch River Monsters on TV...

I would say Holly was removed from the area immediately. Given the massive local searches immediately after her disapperance and the off and on searching in the vicinity by her family and others since then...

others who said that Calabrese mislead them into believing he was with law enforcement -

I guess it's a he said/she said. He claims he never said he was LE. I do believe, however, that he may have told people he was with a SAR team just to get them out there to search for Holly. He even went out of his way to contact the psychic.

Personally, I find nothing wrong with what he did but for some reason, TBI thought it was worth the resources to raid his home and take his computer and whatever else so they could investigate him. 6 months later, I don't think he's been charged with anything.

From what was posted about him, he is/was doing exactly what hundreds of other people are/were doing. Sleuthing and trying to find out what happened to Holly.

:moo:

So....I'm thinking 10%. Were there any credible evidence - new hot info - surely local LE with TBI and the state highway patrol (and the FBI and ICE, for that matter) would be conducting the search and not 200 volunteers.

If she was removed from the area then yes, 0% chance they'll find anything of value after all this time. Even if they find her purse or camera or any other item, wouldn't DNA be compromised/degraded after all this time?

If she wasn't removed they may find her. It would be a miracle but it's happened in other cases where remains were found months/years later.

Of course we all wish she is still alive but I think one has to be realistic in such sad circumstances.

I was wondering ... does anyone know if the neighbor guy who heard the scream/screams and sent his mama to check it out was ever questioned? Was it ever verified that he reported to work in a "timely" manner? Was he a known hunter?

I don't think that has ever been confirmed nor of any of the other players in this case. The family, the boyfriend, friends, neighbours, teachers, etc.

They've been very tight lipped about everything including who took a polygraph or if a polygraph was even administered to anyone. Holly's cousin claims Clint took one and passed but nothing was confirmed by LE as far as I know.

In terms of transparency this investigation has been almost completely opaque.

One wonders why that is the case.

I would love to know the answers to these questions. Personally I'm much more interested in the neighbor than I am in Clint or Drew.

Leave it to the Daily Mail to add a new verb as to the method of Holly's progress into the woods...
They coined that so as to combine "drug" with "led."

From the facts that we know and there are only a few "facts" confirmed, Holly and the neighbor guy are the only two people to leave the immediate area besides of course Holly's mom and dad leaving for work. I say "known" because we know Holly is gone and we know the neighbor guy left for work. That's not to say an "unknown" person couldn't have been there also.

IMOO

I have this picture in my head of dozens of vehicles converging on the Bobo home, as one lone vehicle heads the other way and no one notices...

Going back and reading all this stuff - articles, transcripts - is like researching a culture's creation myths.

A question I have had is, why is there so much difference between the reward offered for information to bring Holly home versus what they are offering for other people who vanished around the same time?

The governor of Tennessee offered $75,000 for Information in Holly's case, and yet Shelley Mook's reward money over in Bedford County was set at $10,000.

Eventually, the addition of funds by a private donor raised the reward money in Holly's case to $250,000. It really makes one wonder what differences there are in circumstances to justify such a large difference in reward money for young women who have vanished in much the same ways.

Anyone want to take a stab at explaining that?

Articles follow....

It's enough to make your head explode, isn't it?
