Has there been any news on the date in September they will be back in court? Nick Beres maybe mentioned it?

TIA! :)

Unfortunately, no the only statements I have heard is that it will be September 2021. I do feel that may even change if they found anything of great value to the case during the last search and excavation. My personal opinion is that they are slowly trying to build a very strong case with every bit of evidence they can. LE is keeping the results of the D.N.A. of the hair found on the shovel and anything else found after that pretty tight lipped.

I understand that the trial won't be until 9/2021 - but there is a status hearing this coming September - per my notes. :) Just wondering if anyone has seen an actual date - or if someone has access to Dickson County court site. TIA if some one posts it! :)

I have not heard an actual date. I will look into it further and check. I do not have access either. In my experience, Davidson county has the most court information and records available in this state. Other counties keep very limited information easily available to the public.

Thank you for checking on this @Mimsy2 and

I agree with you on these points. I would like to add that it also could have been a case of if the brother witnessed what was said to occur by Joseph, (that Krystal suffocated Joe Clyde and threatened him with a knife) that the brother made the assumption that Krystal stabbed him. This statement is coming from a child that may or may not have witnessed this that night. In his mind if he did see a knife and then no more Joe Clyde with the explanation that he is missing. I could easily see how he could arrive at such an assumption. However, I do find it intriguing that every time there is even a tiny development in the case Krystal seems to draw attention buy firing off letters to her parent and/or Nick Beres (who has stated he will follow this case and bring updates until its conclusion).

Her letter to Nick Beres was also of interest to me due to the fact I felt she seemed to distance herself from Joe Clyde in a sense. To me she seemed to plead for everyone to look for “Baby Joe” or Joe Clyde Daniels and only referencing him as her son (please help my find my son Joe Clyde Daniels) one or two times. Of course, this is all MOO from the best of my recollection at the moment off the top of my sleepy head.
If I have broken any rules with my conjecture or statements please forgive me. I have followed this case in the news and read a good bit in both threads here. Nonetheless, this is the first time I have posted.
Yes, it makes sense that Joe Clyde's brother could have created a false memory from actually seeing a knife in either parent's hand that night.

And I missed yet another letter from Krystal to the paternal grandparents, claiming she has information about Joe Clyde's location. I can only see part of the letter - something about "that dream that Joey had when baby-Joe went missing..." She uses the names Joey, Joe-Joe and baby-Joe in the letter which is confusing as father and grandfather are also named Joseph.

NewsChannel 5's Nick Beres spoke with Krystal over the phone. She would not say more about the details included, but she did say she did not give tip the TBI off to current property search. She said they likely won't find anything there.
Letter from Joe Clyde's mother says she has information on location of remains

P.S. @Niner, I haven't found any new on status hearings for either parent.

Warrant: TBI finds small bone fragments in search for Joe Clyde Daniels
Article states belongs to family pets
The agents dug up part of the property and found some small bone fragments, which will be tested. Lockert says they are the remains of family pets buried in the yard.
That's according to Joseph Daniels' lawyer Lockert. He also said the search warrant was granted on pure speculation and that the TBI “... has no clue what happened to Joe Clyde.”

Ugh, I find myself hoping those bone fragments are human, only because it would push the investigation forward.

I’m so sad he hasn’t been found yet. I know eventually the truth will come out but this sweet boy shouldn’t have to wait so long for justice.
Agreed!!! The truth always comes out in the end. I also hate this little baby has no Justice.....as of yet. I hate even more that his DNA donors are seemingly playing games with LE, whilst he has no final resting place or justice. It chaps my rear to no end and is truly sickening.

Joseph Daniels' attorney files motion to have confession thrown out

July 14, 2020
DICKSON, Tenn. (WTVF) — The attorney of Joseph Daniels, father of Joe Clyde Daniels, is trying to get Joseph's confession thrown out of the case......During the investigation, Joseph confessed to detectives but later recanted his statement.
[.....]
Attorney Jake Lockert filed a 30-page motion to have Joseph's confession thrown out. He filed a second motion to have Joseph's bond lowered to $1,500.

Lockert argues there is not enough evidence to support Joseph's original confession.

Joseph initially said he beat the boy, leaving him bleeding from his legs, forehead and face then put Joe in his car to dispose of the body. However, investigators never found blood in the house or car nor did he ever tell them where he put the body.

Joseph also claims to have stopped at a truck stop on his way out, but there is no video evidence of his stop from that night.
[.....]
The attorney also says Joseph, who is mentally ill, was coerced into making a false confession and that video evidence of the interrogation will prove it. Lockert also says investigators coached Joe Clyde’s mother Krystal Daniels into giving a statement against her husband. she was charged with child neglect and remains in jail.
[.....]
Lockert says he expects the judge to rule on the motions later this summer.

I had a feeling that something like this was coming. The statements he made after the last search of the property, for me, alluded to the fact he was going to try to force LE’s hand on what they discovered. Now we wait to see.....

Ugh.

NewsChannel 5 has obtained a copy of the fully unsealed warrant. The document indicates that investigators searched the property back in May because they didn’t believe Joseph Daniels’ confession that he beat the boy to death and then drove away in his Chevrolet Impala to dispose of the body.

According to the warrant, nearby security video shows that vehicle never left the home. So, the TBI decided the father hid the body somewhere on the property. They searched, and by all indications, did not find the boy's remains.

I understand that sometimes a case beats the odds, meaning a child thought to be harmed by a caregiver was actually abducted. Having said that I find it hard to believe in Joe Clyde's case.

It's even harder to believe both these parents are so mentally unstable that they can't decipher reality from fantasy and so they made confessions then recanted.

I'm afraid they're going to walk and probably even sue the county. I still think about baby Delano, another "no body" case; overwhelming evidence pointed to the father murdering him. All it took for the jury to find him not guilty was the suggestion by his lawyer that maybe dad sold Delano. Double jeopardy attached and that was the end.

IMO Joe Clyde was murdered and the confession was concocted by a parent who gamed the system. But it won't matter if evidence never appears. Sadly, this may be another case relegated to the "Missing But Not Forgotten" forum.

All MOO. Thank you Nick Beres for keeping on top of Joe Clyde's case.

Agree with you here. Personally I think the Mother is responsible and he took the blame to game the system with a fake story. He may have mental illness but hes also highly intelligent, or at least it's been reported he is. I think they rolled the dice on who would be a better scapegoat to help get them out of this. Remember she's also the one that wrote a letter claiming if the grandparents got a phone line she could call them on, she would give them information to where baby Joe Clyde is.

ETA... This of course is all MOO
