Turns out she was Afro Latin on her Puertorican side, typical mix of Native, African, Iberian DNA. I guess her African American side had a heavy influence of European genetics, there is a big chunk of North Atlantic (German or British Isles) in her DNA and I dont think it is her Puertorican side.

Plenty of Afro-Latinos score some British on DNA tests. Whether that means they descend from British slaves that were bought by Spaniards or from West Indians that moved around post-slavery, I don't know, but it isn't unusual.

That's what I mean; there was a sizeable Irish emigration to Puerto Rico in the old days, many of whom were indentured servants. I'm not saying they make up a large minority of Puerto Ricans, but there are definitely people there who have Irish names.
