No. Finding like minded people to either get info of a safe/accepting place to go or a place to hide out.

That is not abnormal for anyone doing anything. We do that with vacation spots and restaurants. He has been planning this a while and he isn't going to be asking a friend at church. He likely would have done some research and could have easily been in contact with someone.

However, Mexico is all about the easy border and the access to Central America.

In other words, I don't think Mexico is the ultimate destination.

I agree completely. Mexico is too close and it is extremely easy to cross borders in Central America.

The one thing that I find strange is the request to borrow the sister's swimsuit. ET didn't have her own? Wow. I know teen's borrow clothes but that is odd in the circumstances. May be a red herring and mean nothing but if it is an indicator of direction there are only two places in the US now where that would be useful, that would be Florida and Southwest states. The temps here in the East, as some have said getting better, but even getting to low 70's for an hour or two is the best it is getting in some areas and cold for a girl from the mountains. If the swim suit means anything then the only location that makes sense is Florida, and he may fit right in rural areas there.
Mexico? They may get out but harder to get back nowadays.

ET's sister is contributing on the forum as a 'verified family member'

What we've learned:

• ET had TC for two semesters - Forensics and Health
• ET took Spanish for a semester and received an A
• TC's wife was the first to report a missing person (within hours)
• ET was reported missing by her family at approx 7:30pm CST on 3/13
• The young girl that drove ET to Shoney's isn't cooperating with LE (as per her parents)
• ET took with her: make-up bag, tooth brush, change of clothes and her sister's bathing suit
• Shoney's camera apparently is non-working and there is no footage
• ET only left Tennessee once to go to an amusement park
• ET did hide from TC at her place of work on 3/11. (3/13 declared missing)
• Some in their town are sympathetic to TC

Also Blount County isn't far from all the area, people really ignore people there, it is a small area though, very rural. There are a ton of illegal aliens that do migrant farming work and other odd jobs.

Not having what you need to work and giving any name and background, wouldn't necessarily be questioned.

Think of it like Facebook...all your friends can see what you post but they can't see any private messages you send anyone. Instagram is the same.

Also, you can set individual Facebook posts to just a certain friend and that friend will be the only one able to see it.
I do not have Instagram, so I don't know if they work the same.

I just don't think he was looking for "like minded" people.

Here are a couple of reasons for that.

1) He does not see himself as anything but normal in a special circumstance.
2) He believes that he is smart enough to do this on his own.

However the name is a mix of Tad Cummins and Elizabeth Thomas. Because of the forum rules, I do not think I can post a link and/or photo that the two accounts contain.

Does anyone have an idea as to how I might share this w/o breaking the forum rules?

It is most likely a troll account. You'd be amazed how many pop up when someone is in the news - they get lots of hits because of people searching the name.

I don't think it is in his plans to ever return to the US.

He knows it is illegal, I'm sure he thinks it is wrong to be illegal "because this is different". Those are the like-minded people I'm talking about.

If he didn't know it was illegal, he would have not left with her.

Yes, but the article has said the detectives are having a difficult time because they encrypted everything. It comes up as jumbled mess.
