If he had made it to countries south of Mexico, she'd have not been found..... I said Belize ........ Glad 'something' went wrong... This could have ended much differently. He did plan, just wasn't as good at it as he thought. Thankful for the guy who happened upon him and recognized him. But for that, who knows.

He came to California. :floorlaugh:
Isn't that the truth.

This is why she needed the swimsuit. I live about 3 hrs from the SD mexico border in Cali. Criminals always want to go to Mexico. I wonder is they paid money for fake passports which are very expensive but hes good at getting people to give him money.

And what kind of "watercraft" can you get for under $4500? A surfboard? Jetski? :floorlaugh:

You can rent a boat to take out for a day. The other option is to steal a boat. The problem with renting is you would need a credit card. That leaves stealing a boat. I wonder how much of his story is true and how much of it is his delusions of grandeur!

if he really intended to go to San Diego, why did he head northwest to Guymon after Oklahoma City?

  • #386
He's had plenty of opportunity to come clean. I'm going to bet there's far more to the story. IMO he's only saying what he needs to to appear remorseful.

Looks like he's telling two different stories, one to the authorities and one to his sister. He left with her to avoid criminal prosecution vs she was going to run away.

Lot's of news today!

Because they ran out of money? From reading the document it appeared to me he was stalking her.

Hopefully more charges will be added.

I am not picking on this post in particular but to those who are minimizing or giving their opinions on the interview with TC sister.
IMO, it is downright in poor taste for her to have even done the interview. Maybe she is making poor choices as well.
To me, the main point is we have a 15 year old child who has already been victimized by adults who were supposed to protect and care for her. WTH does it matter what TC sister has to say, unless it is to garner sympathy for her family (or TC). We know that the media likes to sensationalize these crimes but 99 times of 100 the family has the sense to go PRIVATE.

JMO

Imo this just an attempt to prime the public for the trial. The defense need a more sympathetic picture of TC than the one that dominates right now. I don't think the press suddenly became overwhelmingly persuasive, I have little doubt they attempted to contact his sister while he was still on the lamb! The timing of her caving to an interview is telling.

I am guessing this was a very scripted interview. Something like this; We need the public to see that Tad also has an older sister, who loves him... Don't mention the minor vic, not once, ever! Do not attempt to excuse his criminal behavior, that will alienate, but do stress that he does not seem to be aware of the gravity of his crimes, and genuinely was trying to help. Stress *remorse*. "

Not even the 12 yr old who reported this whole malarkey, would buy what TC is trying to sell ( via his defense).

His sister did a good job as a part of TC's team. I may have done the same for my brother if asked. (Hard to tell since I never have faced that particular struggle).

All I'm thinking is thank God they didn't get in a boat to go to Mexico. They could very well have been lost at sea and even if they made it they would have been in danger. I agree, they're probably buttering him up about his amazing plan and he's spilling all these incriminating details. Keep talking, Tad!!

In defense of all of us who didn't think he'd go to a commune or to Mexico--I don't think we were *completely* wrong, in that he clearly wasn't able to do either one successfully. We just gave him too much credit that he might actually recognize his own limitations 😂

How was he planning on paying for boat if he was broke when he reached the commune?
I'm not 100% convinced he was "broke", he just said he was. There sure were a lot of 20oz coke bottles in that picture. Here, if you buy them as singles, they are $1.89 each! He had them in the cabin- maybe he got them from the Saloon HONOR SYSTEM & didn't pay. MOO

Wondering how much of this "the friend" knew in advance, as "plans had changed".

I find it incredible that now he'd like to have his family back. He sure didn't spare one thought for them while he was writing secret love letters to a child, or leaving his wife stranded without her vehicle, or forcing his wife into a position of public shame, or abducting another man's underage daughter and doing God knows what with her while on the run.

He wants his family back?! :boohoo:

BBM

I do not think he has ever said such as to "he wants his family back". :moo: :cow: I think that was his sister thinking and espousing as perhaps, what she thinks he SHOULD be thinking as she said "I think he would like" vs. "he said he would like:?

Here are her words from the article. Don't have time at the moment to verify, but I didn't get the opinion when I listened previously that he had said such, just it was her words.

""He's repentance-sounding and I think he would like to get his family back but I think it just hasn't hit him yet that that's not gonna happen," Quinn said. "He's just gonna have to learn a new normal. He's got a very long, tedious road ahead of him in a place that he's never been and he's just going to have to deal with it."

He may have taken US 60 to the I-40. 1-40 goes from OK to the 58 to So Cal.

He was worried about the criminal allegations at school and wanted to avoid that? did this fool realize getting caught doing these crimes are much worse with more prison time. He is really an idiot.

This is the story that said TC was in Berkeley CA.
I know that Elsa Marley moved there after leaving the ranch and is an art teacher there now/or was. I believe several prior residents moved there. IMO that would be the place to go to find out how to get to BBR.
At the end of the documentary they gave the location of some of the former residents.

MOO

**** I should add NSFW lots of nakedness!!

fast forward to:
@ 1:14:26 for where they are now.

Below, is a MARATHON read, if you want to bookmark for something to read someday.
Peter Coyote is an actor? who lived at BBR and did this write up on Elsa.
Very interesting life she has led!

Maybe TC's description of himself on IG was to appeal to the people at the commune?

This is a good point. I wonder if the friend will talk eventually.

He really, truly is. He must have actually thought he could pull this off, because as you point out the punishment for this is way worse than what he was already facing. He's an even bigger narcissist than I thought.

BBM: She was quoting TC, she never said anything about him being right, or innocent, as a matter of fact, she seems to know exactly what he has done wrong and that he will have to pay for his actions. She is his sister and is going to support him, that's just logical, but she's not giving him a free pass. IMO
I just listened to his sister's interview again. She said, "...He is repentant-sounding..."
IMHO, she wants to believe what he is spinning. If he were truly repentant, he would tell the truth and not some rescue-the-damsel-in-distress tale!

I wonder if the depositions will go forward? Would be good to still know what people knew and when they knew it.

Im having a little trouble with this statement. At first i took it to mean he found [E] then got employed at the school to be around her and used it as a coverup. It may not be worded correctly. Anyone?

The motion for Cummins' detention also details the method in which he allegedly found Thomas, through employment at her school. The motion describes Cummins' work to cover up the relationship between himself and the 15-year-old to his employers.
