Just wanted to mention, coyote behavior is different in different places. In the desert southwest if they're driven out of the hills and down to the desert floor, for food or water, they'll act differently then they do in say, Toronto, where they'd become accustomed to humans, or in farming/forest areas where they're used to farm traffic & humans. I've lived in both areas and the coyotes in southern CA in the dessert walked right into your yard and looked at you as if to say "hello, I'm about to eat your cat - just thought you'd like to know". In southern Ontario, the ones in farm land sneak around your house and run as soon as a puppy comes outside and starts yapping. In urban areas here, they aren't afraid of people at all. They seem to be very adaptable creatures depending on their locations, and situations.

I've never lived in or spent much time in TN so I really don't know what the coyotes are like there in the wooded areas but I would suspect they're sneaky critters like the wooded areas here - and will slink off if they see/hear humans, unless they're sick, separated from the pack, or scouts.

moo. (I read about them all the time, since we have kids/grandkids and they're spotted here all the time)

Long time lurker; first time poster. I have a few questions/thoughts that I hope someone doesn't think I'm obsessively intrusive for having. Is Noah smart for his age? If so, regardless of using the designated trail could he have sprinted off in the correct direction and made it to the house for his action figure, sippy cup, jacket? At the house could he have decided to be a big boy and walk to see grandpa at work, find mommy at the store or cross the road to see puppies all by himself just knowing that he could do it? If so, there may be ditches that can't be climbed out of, weeds that are too tall or other trees to be lost in. There might be a junker car with a door that won't shut all the way that he decides to drive and then can't wiggle out of. There are several possibilities outside the woods behind his house where he could be. I worry that his only search area is there.
I pray the new search team sees it through different eyes.
I've used up enough space. Thank you for your time.

Welcome to Websleuths! Great first post. I'd love to know the answer to these questions as well. :websleuther::welcome4:

maybe we can't use google earth to see how old the concrete wall is???
really all we can do here is talk about wildlife, weather, dogs and sink holes.
no timeline no other specifics.......LE handling this so close to vest has everyone wondering why.

Aha!! Age of concrete wall! :thumb:

I think that if they did show all three entering or being in the woods together he would have answered the question.

I agree!:thumb:

(this is regarding the maps) I like this...LOL I found the maps helpful..that Sheriff is cranky and tired. People have super short patience when they are exhausted. He knows the world is watching him and he probably feels that if he doesn't find Noah, people will judge the LE and think not so highly of them. Everyone wants to be a hero and find the boy...delivering a happy ending. Do I think LE reads here? Yes. Do I think they camp out on the site? No. This next comment won't make me popular but I'm starting to doubt that Noah is in the woods. I have believed the GM up to this point and I still want to believe her but my gut says something happened but it wasn't quite like THIS. Perhaps the story is a variation of what really happened. In order for her story to be plausible IN MY MIND, she would had to have turned her attention away from Noah longer than what she's admitting to. We dont even know what time this nature hike began. Most people look at their phone or a clock of some sort before they set out with a return time in mind. That's info I thought would have been provided to the public up front. Who, what, when, where, why. Basic journalism. Rant over lol. Maybe I'm tired and cranky too. All JMO JMO :shame::offtobed::bedtime:

I hate when people assume that if someone is a christian, it means they'd never harm another person. (Not saying anyone in this family harmed Noah...just speaking generally.) Just a pet peeve of mine, I guess.

Me too. My pet peeve is more about it being used after the fact, but I don't like seeing it used as a defense either.

Bringing this forward, would like to see the exact quote, haven't seen the PC yet, thanks everyone for your uodates!

"Well traveled area"...this could be important.

Good point about keeping in mind specific potential "key" phrases! :thumb:

I do believe in prayer ! I bought my mom this little small book called " Embraced By The Light" The author died after surgery and went to heaven she was revived after 45 minutes. She met Jesus and had a stroll through heaven. Some things revealed to her were to be forgotten jesus told her but one thing she did remember was looking back down at earth and seeing these beams of light. Some were brighter and bigger than others. She asked Jesus what those beams were and his reply was, " Those are the prayers of mothers".

That was a very comforting book.

Good point. I was thinking a lot about how accustomed coyotes have become to humans earlier today (at least here, in Myrtle Beach, they have). In fact, a coyote managed to sneak into our local airport thru the baggage claim area just a week or two ago and had some fun darting back and forth through the security area before he was tased and picked up by animal control. A lot of our local wildlife seems to be a lot less skiddish around humans these days. Deer wander into backyards, some type of pumas (panthers, or cougars, or fill in the blank) were forced out of the woods by a huge brushfire a few years back and wound up roaming around nearby residential neighborhoods---despite DNR's previous claims that they no longer live around here---and I spotted a raccoon just hanging out on my balcony last winter (I freaked outttt because I thought it was my roommate's cat at first & I nearly opened the door to let "her" back in the house!)

And, I never expected black bears to live around here, but there are at least 2 or 3 black bears that wildlife preservationists know of that live in the Carolina Forest area.

I don't know how anyone (wildlife specialists or otherwise) can claim with 100% certainty that a specific species of animal doesn't exist somewhere or pass thru there, unless the climate is such that it's not possible. Even scientists have deemed certain animals extinct after X number of years have passed with no sightings, but then one is seen years later and they're proven wrong.

It's scary for me to consider what animals might be lurking out in the woods. I can't imagine how scared a 2 year old would be out there at night all by himself. [emoji22]

I lost all faith in dogs after the Caylee Anthony case. Her little body was 1600 feet from the house and they used dogs several times, so I just dunno what to think about them other than the dogs used in Caylee's case were not good

http://www.syracuse.com/news/index....ent_accurate_can_smell_remains_15_feet_d.html

This. Hmm. This is a question mark for me. I've seen the dogs go right to the person and I've seen them be on top or darn near the missing person and not "sit" so to speak....I guess all dogs arent created equal. I still believe in bringing the dogs out. It can't hurt. I pray for the sake of closure that they locate Noah in one of the sink holes. IF he's in those woods, surely thats where he is. This was my original feeling and I still dont feel different about it. It hurts my heart to think about this. If he has been exposed to the elements this long, there is no way he is alive. JMO.

I'm really not sure what he meant there, maybe authorities? I'm sure he's tired and was eager to post a real update, so far it's been mostly updates that they can't find anything but they're still holding onto hope.

Jmo, if prayer worked, all of these little children would be found alive and unharmed. Plenty of people prayd for all of them. But...jmo.

That info is all over SM.

If true... I wonder why those pieces of information would not be shared by LE...

They make sense...

And it lessens the intrigue... IMO...

Hello SouthernHome. So glad you've joined us! Your post is anything but a using up of space! :heartluv:

I look forward to hearing more of what you have to say. Little Noah has brought you here. I truly hope you'll stay around. There are SO many cases that need fresh eyes and a good :websleuther: to join in!

So :sleuth: on.... You'll be a veteran before you know it.

I'm admittedly in the dark about anything on SM. Perhaps on this case I simply don't want to know. I've been essentially borderline non-functional since this case broke, and I've only been following here. :hearno:

I can't explain it, but this one just might be my undoing.... :moo:

Where ARE YOU, Little One???

Wonder if GM stopped for a smoke then after that a chat with her GD? How long does it take to smoke a ciggie? This seems plausible to me as she is hardly the twinset and pearls aged GM I'd come to see in my mind's eye - in fact the complete opposite. Not saying that all bikie chicks are smokers or that all pearls and twinset grannies are angels but the scenario for me works - just saying

That screenshot said "the attorneys continue to expand the search every day".

Attorneys? Freudian slip?
I was hoping someone else picked up on that...

if it wasn't a mix-up in words...

since when do attorneys make such decisions?

I want you people to know that you're amazing. I don't know how you do this case after case after case. It warms my heart that there are so many people looking over these cases genuinely caring for these people and coming together to help any way you can. This is the first that has really just hooked me, I'm extremely emotionally invested in finding this boy, if it doesn't have a happy ending I think I'll just have to take a break from the Internet for a while.
