I notice when the car turns to the next row in the parking lot, you can see kids on a playground on swings (to the far right of the screen as the car is turning).

I wonder if they heard AH shooting the door for entry? Did AH park further away?

ETA: In the very first shot of the car, there is also someone standing on the sidewalk as AH drives by. Looks like maybe a groundskeeper as he's putting on gloves & seems to be beside a wheelbarrow. Imo.

ETA again: Notice the car video time seems to be around 9:54, then it jumps to 10:10 when the glass door is being shot. So I guess AH sat in their car or was getting psyched up to go in?

LE said they found maps and writings in her car, so maybe she was still working on her plan, or finalizing her "manifesto."

Looked on google maps to see where the playground is in relation to the parking lot (per my comment above about seeing the playground when the car is turning onto the next parking row). Do you think AH entered through the doors nearest to the playground? (I'm assuming the red dot might be the "front" since that's where the road comes up into the parking lot.)

ETA: The blue line indicates where I think the car is seen in the various video of AH's car. The yellow circle shows the playground where you can see children playing on the swings as AH's car turns to the next row. I wonder if the 15 minute gap in time between the parking lot footage & AH shooting the door was AH waiting for the children to go back inside? IMO and MOO.

Students in the US are prepared from a young age on how to respond to mass shootings.

The Covenant School is no exception - the private school held an active shooter training programme last year to prepare for such an event, according to local Nashville outlet News Channel 5.

This was reported earlier. But despite this training, they had an intruder shoot 2 sets of front doors and then walk around the school undeterred. Am I missing something here? Did she enter through the main front doors? Wouldn't that lead to reception and a member of staff sitting there?

If there had been a staff member in a reception area, then that person would have been shot, too.

She enters the school and then roams around, opening doors and entering / exiting rooms.

My initial impression of the video is that the shooter appeared to be playing a video-game...or pretending to be in one. Imo

If there had been a staff member in a reception area, then that person would have been shot, too.

I know what you are saying but if the shooter came across that person first, and they had the chance to alert the rest of the school, maybe the rest could have been saved.

Also, if you zoom in on this photo, you can see signage indicating the sanctuary & the school toward the right, the church office, fellowship hall, and nursery toward the left.

Lives with her parents at 28 years of age, drives a Honda Fit (not an inexpensive vehicle), and purchases 3 firearms, including AR-like firearms. Did she pay room and board? Where did she hide the firearms, or did she? Didn't her parents notice anything was going on? She drove around doing surveillance and drawing maps of her targets. Planned it ahead of time, picked her old school because it was an easy target in terms of security and because she knew the layout.

How the Nashville school shooting unfolded​

09:53am - Hale's gray Honda Fit is seen arriving at The Covenant School in Nashville.

09:54am - Hale is seen driving through the parking lot, seemingly calm. Nothing suggests anything is out of the ordinary as she finds a spot to park.

10:10am - The glass front door, which was locked, is shattered as Hale opens fire. She then steps through the debris into the empty reception of the church, which is adjacent to the school.

10:13am - Brandishing her assault rifle, Hale is seen entering a carpeted room, inside the church looking for any victims. The room is empty.

10:18am - Hale is seen on the same camera inside the church still looking for victims. She opens a door into the next room.

10:19am - The 28-year-old returns through the door, and aims her gun, although there is no one there. She tries another door, then returns 30 seconds later.

10:20am - Hale is now walking through a wooden-floored building labelled 'first' in the footage, past an empty reception. She stalks the corridor, then disappears from view.

10:27am - Hale is shot dead on the second floor of the school, having engaged officers who fired back, killing her.

The timeline I posted confirms what you say here about being in the car park from 9:54 until 10:10.

If security was tight, perhaps it could all had ended in the car park. That's just wishful thinking though and it's all too late now.
