Madison man charged in connection with case of missing Tennessee girl found in Wisconsin

BDR - was charged Monday in U.S. District Court in Madison with knowingly persuading a minor to engage in sexually explicit conduct for the purpose of producing a visual depiction of such conduct, and such visual depiction was brought from Tennessee to Wisconsin.

RP - Probable cause documents from Monroe County show Pruitt’s arrest stemmed from photos and videos taken on his cellphone.

Yes, I believe you are correct. I don't believe we have seen a probable cause affidavit from Monroe for RP as docs were sealed. Is that what you remember?

Charges for BDR are in federal court now, so information has been really limited.

It is what I remember, yes.
I also remember hearing about photos and videos found prior to the release of the complaint against BDR, but I don't recall where exactly.

You are not imagining that. I recall reading that also. IMO JMO

The photos and videos could be the original one(s) found. What I mean is legally he owned the phone that SP was using.

But SP had the phone(s) with her since both pinged in KY.

What I’m saying is that the crime was recorded on a phone registered to Randy Pruitt. Can minors own phones legally? I know teens can be prosecuted for “sexting” but not sure to what extent an adult would be culpable.

Thanks for asking but I don't really want to answer because I don't have a very popular opinion on this, haha. Not formed on any outside sources. I have laid low and lurked lately...

OK then, as has been debated by many posters here, it matters to me whether BR just picked up SLP and sheltered her vs. BR sexually abusing her while they were together. I fully understand the video implications and the extent of the laws broken beyond my limited two-possibility scenario here.

In the latter case, BR will be going to prison for many decades, let's say 50 years for example. Whatever it is, won't be long enough, IMO.

In the sheltering case, I think you and others would say the that the 50 year sentence is appropriate (based on your question, not trying to put words in your mouth). This opinion is black and white, and there is nothing wrong with that.

I look at the sheltering scenario as something the prosecution should and will consider in charging and prosecuting BR. This is the gray area- where the letter of the law is interpreted, and sentencing includes looking at specifics of what did and did not happen. That SLP and possibly her siblings are free from years of sexual abuse and the stepfather has gone away for along time. So BR would probably end up spending less time in jail the 50 years.

All opinions on this complex situation are valid IMO, as it touches a lot of emotion. But if I get beat up again, it's your fault...

I hope that sheltering is all that took place. I hope that if SP finds out that LE found the child 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 on RP's phone, that realization she did not need proof.... Well, BDR will most likely become a goat. All IMO as I have no knowledge of how SP was treated, after sneaking out of her home.

Thank you sooooooooo much TNW. honestly! This why I asked your opinion, I've been so full of blind rage towards both offenders (RP and BR) that I couldn't imagine anything other than a slow death by 1,000,000 venomous snake bite or wasp stings or something equally as painful.

I'm not good at gray IRL and even less so in this particularly heinous child abuse case, thanks for helping me understand your shade opinion and even if I don't fully agree, I can appreciate it now. <nobody better pick on you or they're in big trouble I'm agirlwithnoname remember, I have a pointy sword and a list of names LOL>

Great post IMHO.

I could see his priority being to get her out of there and make sure she was safe. Then I could see them being utterly terrified to reveal her location because what if they weren't believed? I am guessing that S was terrified of being returned to that house. Maybe she wanted to wait until RP had been arrested.

I think it's very possible still that this guy is just an idiot. Yes, I've read everything. However I've seen no indication that his motives were nefarious. I've seen plenty of evidence they were misguided and idiotic though. I'm still waiting to condemn him until we know that he did something to her.
I'm with you on this. Maybe he realized that he was going to be charged for the video being sent and was afraid to call police. Maybe she felt bad that he was going to be charged after helping her escape. This could explain why the delay in contacting LE. Surely SP has filled in LE on exactly what has transpired since she left her home. I'm waiting to see if there are any charges other than instructing her to video the rape and then receiving it on his phone and loading it on his computer.

Records: Girl sent FBI letter, recordings of abuse by adoptive Monroe County father

The girl later talked about killing herself. He told her not to.

Rogers suggested she run away to a friend's. But she said that wouldn't work.

"My friends will eventually rat me out to the cops," she messaged.

She also told Rogers that Pruitt at some point had shot her dog, skinned it and left it on the farm property. He carried and used guns, court records state.“

I hope her adopted father has a short stay where he is!
He doesn't deserve to breathe!
I'll also add if this waste of air killed and skinned her dog, MOM KNEW he was dangerous!

Also at the link: they had plotted to mail out the video, sound recording, and pictures as soon as she was safely in Wisconsin, which they did. He also got her a burner phone to stay in contact with family to let them know she was safe but that would not give away her location.

Her father killed and skinned her dog? That is pure and simple horrifying intimidation.
It will be interesting to know if she did get in touch with her family and if so who.

From the Link: "The SD card also contained a video that (the teen) made using a burner phone -- the purpose of which was to assure her family that she was alive and well," the lawyers state.

So I wonder if she actually made any direct contact with family? It doesn't appear that way from the article.
