So, is the general concensus here that Katie is not really pregnant,
and they are adopting a (probably not yet born) baby?

Difficult to say if that's the general consensus really. there are certainly some of us responding to this thread who may feel that is so, but maybe a lot (majority?) more here (Websleuths) who don't believe any such thing.

Tristan said:
Again, in a few years, if it looks nothing like either of them, we'l know the deal.

do children always resemble one or both parents?

Tristan said:
Also, if Katie IS actually pregnant, perhaps she was inseminated by a sperm donor....one who resembles Tom.

you'd think he'd ensure he would have a hand in the selection process of finding someone who looked exactly like him, wouldn't you?

Tristan said:
A bit far fetched, but considering who we're talking about....nothing is too bizarre!!

considering who we're talking about, not at all far fetched at all, indeed, IMO!

Bodysuits are uncofortable. Why where them when you are suppose to be preggers? and coffee? not good for the TomKitten:doh:

The oft presence of that ridiculous coffee being ferried around is extraordinary, to me: surely it's supposed to be a no no?

Coffee & Caffeine During Pregnancy: Links to Learning Disabilities, ADD and Behavior Disorders - http://www.chem-tox.com/pregnancy/coffee.htm

the above of course hasn't been studied as extensively as Tom Cruise has managed and therefore we should be rest assured he's given Holmes his blessing.

perhaps s/he has an advertising deal with Starbucks or wherever she simply has to get her coffee from each day? clearly coffee-making facilities at the Cruise 'compound' are poor.

Our local news reported this morning that Katie H. has agreed to be separated from the baby for one week after birth, in accordance with Scientology, so the baby does not associate the traume of birth with it's mother's voice. :waitasec:

My opinion is that she probably really is pregnant. The onesie pics came out almost as soon as people started questioning whether or not the pregnancy was real. If it is a fake, they must have used a latex bump with makeup feathering into her real skin because it looks pretty convincing to me. There are pictures of her in that montage that show her upper arms (wearing a sleeveless shirt) to be a little on the plump side, as well as thighs and butt a little plumper than a 5'10" slender woman's thigh and butt normally would be. I also remember those bathing suit pics where her legs looked really big to me. For a tall, very slender woman, that's enough to tell me she's really pregnant.

The big thing that makes people think it's a fake, is the changing size of her bump--huge one day and relatively flat the next day. If she was wearing gradually increasing prostheses, then one would have to assume that she was wearing the wrong sized "pillows" on different days. I think if a fake pregnancy was happening, her scientology keepers would make damn sure she wore the right size bump. The simplest explanation is that her baby is flipping from head down or up to transverse, causing a wierd landscape on her normal thin frame.

She's a relatively young woman with probable normal fertility, why in the world would they need to fake a pregnancy when a real one would be more advantageous? By advantageous I mean for Tom to "prove" his manliness, heterosexuality and his crazy love for her. I wouldn't have believed it possible of Tom, if it hadn't have come out that Nicole miscarried a child of his.

I guess it's possible that the whole thing could be a big joke to see how lathered up the press and public get. I don't buy the conspiracy thing, though. Faking a pregnancy seems like a lot of trouble to go through if there was any sort of agenda. I absolutely, positively believe that the whole relationship was engineered, and that they may have been persauded to become pregnant for scientology reasons. I wouldn't put it past any of these wierdos to have engineered a real pregnancy. I don't buy the "we're crazy in love" thing from anyone except maybe poor dumb and naive ol' Katie.

So, a clueless man made up this rule. All mothers in the animal kingdom instinctly cuddle and bond with their offspring immediately after birth. Common sense would say that this is when a helpless baby needs its mother the most...

If Katie has agreed to this condition, she is a bigger IDIOT than I ever imagined.

Katie needs to stop being such a spineless piece of putty and have some say of her own. What a push over, is she blind and deaf to the fact that Tom needs deprogramming? You would have to tie me down to keep me from holding and loving my new baby.

Can she not spot that Tom Cruise is a control freak who is taking all choice away from her?

If she doesn't stand up to him now she most likely never will....I smell a nasty break up in the wind some day soon.

What is wrong with these Scientoloty people anyway? Why are there so many weak minded freaks in the world who need cults to tell them how to think? L Ron Hubbard was an idiot, he flunked most science classes he took in school, he knew how to manipulate people and take advantage of them. Hubbard's own son basically calls him a fraud and extortionist.

Tom Cruise is going to turn the kid into some sort of alien pod person freak based on the writings of a man who was a total fraud (and a wife beater to boot). So Sad for the baby.

I'm certainly not saying this newest rumor (apparently announced on the radio this morning) isn't true, but it really doesn't make much sense that either Tom or Katie would leak that kind of information to the public. He's out there doing damage control as fast as he can schedule interviews right now, so I can't imagine either of them would be leaking something as controversial as this to the media. And please don't think I'm standing up for either one of them, because I'm not. He's a full-fledged idiot and control freak, and she's an adult woman who put on track shoes as she ran 100 mph into his waiting arms. I just doubt the validity of this rumor.

Me too. Keeping a baby away from it's mother the first week is absurd. I hope this isn't true, but if it is, then Katie is just plain stupid to agree to such a thing.

I have had 5 pregnancies/babies, and I find several things odd:

She is ALWAYS drinking coffee-I sure hope it's decaf! Giving up my coffee was one of the hardest things each time I was pregnant (and my midwife advised me to be careful about drinking too much decaf coffee, too). The weight gain you can see in her arms and legs is PROBABLY from all those mocha-latte-chinnos, they are loaded with calories!

She is pictured shopping all the time but she is shopping for HERSELF, NOT for the baby! No pregnant woman shops for herself, especially at the end of the pregnancy. I would expect someone with unlimited resources to be buying TONS of expensive baby things!

That baby bump just looks all wrong-my belly did change shape as the baby moved around, but her bump is too "perfect" and up too high. And WHO would wear a one-piece body suit when they are preggers? I was always rolling my pants down to keep them OFF my belly, no one wants any extra pressure on a big swollen baby lump!

And this whole silent birth/don't speak to the baby for a week is just crazy. I read all the available baby books, even ones I didn't agree with, to make sure I was doing EVERYTHING the way I should for my new baby. NO ONE could keep me away from a newborn-and I guess this means she will not breastfeed?

I think she is an incubator for some Scientology clone (or she THINKS she is) and she doesn't feel attached to this baby at all...

She sure doesn't look attached. Did you ever ever see Katie Holmes put her hand on her belly or say anything about this upcoming baby? How she is looking forward to it? No, she just looks like a dazed pregnant woman. I have never seen a pregnant woman drink so much coffee. When I was preggars, I couldn't even stand the smell of coffee, let aone drink it. And why is she agreeing to all of this weird stuff?

I don't know which of the rumors are true or false, but her maternal instincts may kick in and she may just put a stop to any and all nonsense about not being able to hold the baby for a week. I mean any of us who are mothers can testify to the fact that if any freak tried to come between us and our newborns, they'd be in for a world of hurt. We'll have to wait and see.

I am so sick of these two that I wish L. Ron would come beam them up.

I still think they are adopting. I think this whole thing is weird.

hey sweets..maybe this is why she will try for a silent birth-to hold her child right away..maybe if she makes no noise she wont be separated?

Very strange-she should read the primal scream and a few other books to see the damage done to a child separated from its mother when born-it will create such a problem
I bet this is done so the child doesnt know who his mother is and doesnt warm to her when she does meet him--pply causes the child to make strange to its own mother.

When I had my last baby (#5) I was determined to do it without drugs. I had practiced all these calming mantras to chant during my labor...well, everytime I had a contraction no matter what my MIND told me to say, all that came out of my mouth was "OH SH$T OH SH$T OH SH$T". Between contractions I would apologize profusely but as soon as the next contraction hit I started saying it again! The nurse even commented this baby would think her name was "OH SH$T"! The midwife kept telling me, "You say what EVER word helps you honey!"

She was delivered quickly (fortunately) and weighed 9 lbs 9 oz. There was NO way I could have been quiet during that!
