Toronto mayor admits crack use

Toronto Star reporting a little more info about the woman who was driving Ford's vehicle...

McRobb’s Muskoka Lakes homes, located near a firehall, was dark Tuesday night. Next-door neighbour Sherri Taylor said she hadn’t seen McRobb for the last three weeks, since she asked Taylor if she would check in on the house while she was gone on a weeks-long alcohol detox.

Though McRobb was “happy and bubbly” when she met her last summer — frequently outside playing with her young son, who Taylor believes is 6 or 7. But by winter, McRobb was “going through rough times.”

Though she hasn’t seen the woman for weeks, she said noticed a black escalade parked in the driveway of McRobb’s house on two different occasions in the last few days.

“Twice this week. That’s very interesting. I didn’t catch the licence plate because I try not to be a nosy neighbour,” she said. “I’m sure it was one day on the weekend. I distinctly remember it.”

She said she did not see anybody coming or going from the car.

So it appears that Ford met this woman while she was on a one week alcohol detox at GreeneStone. They formed such a good friendship that Ford offered her the use of his Cadillac when she got out and had someone drive it up to Bracebridge where both Ford and the vehicle were seen last Friday? I wonder if he was giving her money as well which would explain why the need to go in and out of the bank for 20 or 30 minutes while talking to a woman in a Chevy Blazer parked outside the bank?

This whole thing will be reported as RF being a good Samaritan to a fellow rehab patient and helping her to get back on her feet for the sake of her young child IMO.

I read a tweet earlier today that said her possession of the SUV was not illegal. Trying to find it now.

Still looking.

Another mystery is how or whether Ms. McRobb knows Mr. Ford.

Constable Drake said she was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a concerned citizen called about an erratic driver on the road. The complaint claimed “she was driving erratically, drifting into oncoming lanes,” and an officer later alleged he saw “signs of impairment – alcoholic beverage on her breath,” said Constable Drake.

Woman charged with DUI in Rob Ford's SUV had permission to drive it: police

The Muskoka-area woman charged with impaired driving while behind the wheel of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford’s luxury SUV had permission to use the vehicle from the registered owner, police said Thursday.

The SUV is registered to DECO Labels & Tags, the company owned by Rob Ford’s family, CBC News learned Thursday. It is currently being held at a Gravenhurst impound lot, where it will remain for at least seven days in accordance with Ontario’s impaired driving laws.

The SUV in the compound is missing its licence plates.

Drake confirmed to CBC News that the licence plates were affixed to the Escalade when the officer detained McRobb, and that OPP “definitely did not remove them.”

The owner of the impound lot insisted Thursday that the SUV arrived without plates. It remains unclear exactly when or who removed the plates.

According to this report, Ford was accompanied by a chaperone and a short blond woman who was behind the wheel of his SUV, when he was spotted in Bracebridge last Friday. The bank was a BMO.

Dennis Bell, who works at the Glen Orchard General Store near where Ms. McRobb was arrested, also said he saw the plates intact when it was picked up by a tow truck.

But Northland’s owner, Bob Hoolans, said that neither he or any of his employees removed any plates. “All we do is tow,” he said. “We’re called, we hook the vehicle up, we tow it in, put it in a compound, and lock it up.”

He said that no one else – except for Ms. McRobb, who dropped by briefly on Wednesday to pick up a duffle bag and some knitting supplies from inside the SUV – has had access to the vehicle.

Which would be harder? Knitting while drunk or knitting while detoxing? LOL

So this so called chaperone was also being driven around by a recently released patient in the vehicle of the patient in their charge? Or is the chaperone the older woman in the blue Blazer parked outside the bank that RF kept going to?So obviously someone from GreeneStone knows why LM had the vehicle in her possession and knew about it last Friday. And someone close to RF knows how the Escalade got to Bracebridge or to LM's house when she was discharged. But it appears that brother Doug knows nothing and RF won't answer his calls. I wonder why? And who took the plates, where and why?

Rob Ford’s popularity hits historic low

Mayor Rob Ford’s popularity has sunk to its lowest point since he took office, a new poll shows.

The poll was conducted Wednesday and surveyed 923 Toronto voters. It found that just one third of voters (32 per cent) now support the embattled mayor. Some 65 per cent of respondents said they disapprove of Ford.

Still shocked at the one third who still support him. Have they been living under a rock? Or do they like the drama and think it's entertaining?

My theory is that he's well liked by a certain segment of the population because he doesn't set the bar too high. I think that for those people, Rob Ford's bad behaviour allows them to feel more justified in their own illegal/immoral/self-centered behaviours.

Used to be that 'leaders' were expected to hold themselves to a higher standard - now, it seems, sinking to the lowest common denominator makes him 'just one of the guys' and gains him popularity. Ugh.

All MOO only.

Crack-smoking mayor Rob Ford pictured in Canadian rehab for first time since checking in to kick drink and drug habit

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ehab-time-checking-kick-drink-drug-habit.html

I do wish MSM would respect his privacy when he's on the grounds of the rehab facility. IMO being in rehab is the one thing he's doing right and what he does there should be off limits to the media. Totally different than when he's out in public posing for photo ops, IMO.

Greenstone Clinic confirms Ford is there undergoing treatment. CP24 LIVE. LOL I guess the clinic needs to make a statement now that there are photos of him at the clinic in the DailyMail.

What was he doing in Midland today? And why did he tell this woman he was about to commit to a 30 day stint in rehab? Ummm....isn't that what he was supposed to be doing already? The story on this is a little confusing.

http://www.simcoe.com/news-story/4538161-rob-ford-spotted-in-downtown-midland/

And the person who snapped the picture on this one says he was coming out of a cash store. Why would he be in a cash store? Last Friday a bank in Bracebridge, this Friday a cash store in Midland? What does he need cash for? And why would he be getting it from a cash store and not a bank?

My opinion, but the media needs to leave him alone.
Not taking pictures of him in rehab.
He has always loved the media spotlights.
But when you are at your lowest in your life and trying to get help,
you do not need paparazzi taking pictures.
He loved the media and he behaved like some Hollywood star.
It got to his head, and truly enjoyed it.
His ego was sky high.
But not anymore.
So when your are in rehab cameras should not be allowed.

Maybe he has to pay per week to stay there.
Every Friday he needs to pay them.
What do you think he is getting the money for?
It has been confirmed that he is in Greenestone.
So I really do not think he is going to get money to buy crack.
