She can be as angry as she wants, but I doubt that helps her move forward. Which is what she must do as a survivor of this (or not). Honestly, don't care if that offends anyone. Survivors must move on positively or they're perpetual victims in my opinion.

Grief has no set formula. It's a lengthy back and forth process and very personal. I think Tanisha is older than Travis and given the way they were brought up she could have been a bit motherly/protective of him, who knows. But, she lost him too soon, unexpectedly, and in the most horrific way. I cannot fathom having to see the person responsible for this , everyday. And to have to listen to what is being thrown about regarding her brother's character. Thank goodness she has Harold and other support. When this is over I imagine at some point she will be able to let go a bit and move on to other stages. Poor dear girl. For now she may feel that her anger keeps her connected to and fighting for her brother.

Katie, for your benefit...

today we were all waiting around after lunch when the legal wrangling was going on. All anybody could see from the feed was the bench with the Great Seal of the State of Arizona. All kinds of comments were made, next thing you know, some smart butt did this...

I think this should become the "Great Seal" of Websleuths!

Where are the notes from yesterday afternoon? I went to the trial thread timeline, and no afternoon notes? What was the "new evidence" I was reading about? Haven't seen any shows, so don't know what it was all about.

Also Thursday, defense attorneys asked prosecutors to turn over Arias’ computer hard drive so they can conduct their own independent testing on it. They also complained that prosecutors weren’t being forthcoming in turning over evidence, because they have not given the defense access to the contents of the hard drive.

Prosecutor Juan Martinez explained that the delay was because the hard drive was damaged and an outside firm had to examine it for potential evidence.

Martinez says his team is still waiting for the examination and would turn over to the defense the hard drive and the firm’s report when everything is complete. It is still unclear what the hard drive could reveal.

YOu know on TV I always thought she just looked extremely pissed. In person she looks like every single second she's witholding dissolving in tears. She looks terribly sad. Her husband is amazing though. He is constantly checking in with her, touching her, caressing her but in a very appropriate supportive way.

I remember when peeps were talking about how hard and cold she looked and her dyed black hair. (Without knowing who she was)

I guess once you know the truth about someone, you can see them differently. Grief can take it's toll in so many ways. :(

Her husband sounds like a treasure.

Hey everyone! New here, but avid follower of this case.

I have not seen this mentioned here so I'll raise the point. Anyone take note of the fact that a freeweb proxy server was invoked just prior to Travis's gmail account being accessed. A proxy server hides the identity of a user to help make it more difficult to backtrack and see what sites they're hitting.

Now...why would Travis need to hide his own identity while checking his own email? The mystery user seems obvious to me.

And the proxy server and gmail were logged at 4am a few hours before they had sex. Isn't that the same time Jodi told police she arrived at Travis's house? She got in around 4am, they slept in and then had sex, and then she went Lizzie Borden on him.

Who's to say TA was even awake when she got there. She obviously had a key as Lisa Andrews testified Jodi would let herself in unannounced. Who's to say she didn't go Columbo on his computer while he was sleeping.

As someone mentioned earlier, I really hope State did forensics on her computer & her grandparents to see if she used that same web proxy often and if any records exist on her computer for the alias DeAnna Reed.
welcome! :cheer: I am just catching up so this might have already been suggested... but that would be a great tip to call in. We have already seen in the Casey Anthony case where computer info was missed that could have had a significant impact on the case.

Great catch and welcome!

Thank you. That's exactly my understanding of it. May have been external back-up, but no way to say, definitively, that it was not associated (or was) with Travis's laptop activity. And that's where I think the defense is going with it. An external flash drive of activity on Travis's laptop showing pics of penises.

Another thing to think about iodine also mentioned that TA computer had a virus and she was trying to fix it. Also I wonder if the disc he threw and broke was brought by her and he was over it?:waitasec:

Sleep is the enemy in this case! You snooze, you miss 1000 pages!

The defense team, since the opening statements have relied totally on snippets of information taken out of context. Every time that happens, Juan Martinez jumps right in to put everything in context.

Nurmi was referring to all the nasty things Travis wrote to Jodi, Martinez provided the "human dildo with a heartbeat" context.

Nurmi tried to introduce an e-mail to Chris Hughes and Hughes basically said he couldn't interpret what it said due to lack of context. He never got the context and never testified to his interpretation of what Travis had written to him.

Nurmi tried to turn Gus Searcy into a super-witness at short notice and ended up having Martinez point out the true depth of his knowledge about Jodi. Again, lack of context.

Lisa was forced to answer questions while testifying for the defense. The defense merely read statements in her angry e-mail to Travis. Martinez, with a few questions, put the whole thing into context. Based on the jury questions, they got it.

Now, we get computer forensics. The only material from a 1000+ page report was the listing of the 4 Amish use to back up Jodi's story. Then, we go all of a sudden to the broken external drive (IMHO) where "some" material was recovered.

Those two pictures were flashed to the jury... oops! without any verification as to its ownership, time stamp accuracy, etc.

You can bet that Martinez has the same material PLUS any other information Mesa LE found on it. That will provide context. What else is on there? Could there be material related to Jodi when not around Travis? We don't know yet. If there is, we will get context from the prosecution.

IMHO, the defense case is wholly reliant on nit-picked pieces of information. So far, whenever Martinez gets up to question, the context comes out and the truth of the situation is known.

It is no surprise to me that most of the questions for Lisa were put in the basket prior to Martinez cross. All their questions asked for context. They are on to what the defense is doing now. On their own, they spot the holes and write their questions to fill in the defense blanks.

Now, back a few pages to catch up!

I completely agree. It won't surprise me if it will take Juan to point out that this damaged hard drive actually belongs to JA and that the photos are of many men.

Im confused.:D So Jodi's hard drive was damaged too?

Did they ever say yesterday which computer the photos were sent to?

tia

Her HD is the only one damaged as far as I know and I also believe the photos are of two different men. We will probably never know who because you can name them what ever you want and she had access to his pc. jmo

I'll try here Karmandy. See, that's the thing; they started all this smoke and mirrors thing about the "Compaq". What was in the search logs, who was the user, all this stuff. Then they get you thinking about these benign youtube vids and next thing you know, he's talking about ANOTHER hard drive with no documentation. We don't know who owned it, we don't know where it came from, we don't know about any file names or directories. Then WHAM, she flashes these photos for all the world to see.

Where the hard drive came from, I don't know. What we do know is that it did not come from TA's laptop.

But I think we do know where it came from. Didn't JA admit she had brought some pictures for TA to see on and he tried to load them on his computer. She mentions something about a virus on TA's computer and he throws the disk and breaks it. Also I thought I read somewhere that when LE first looked at the computer there was a virus alert on the screen but no virsus was found? Is it possible the virus was on whatever JA had brought in with her and that is why he had problems? If it contained a virus I could see him breaking it so she couldn't load it into his computer. It sounds as if she may have been trying to upload 🤬🤬🤬🤬 pictures so they would appear on his computer after he was found and LE would be focusing on that and not her.

If this was brought into the home by someone else and Jodi admits she had one wouldn't that make an even greater case for premeditation?????

Oh, I can see I'm behind. I better catch up. lol jmo

snipped
Where the judge sits, she could not see what was being flashed to the jury or to the tv cameras. And the judge is not going to do anything until the prosecution objects. She cannot really interfere in that manner without risking appellate issues.

But I noticed that Willmot flashed the pictures at Juan before she approached the witness. Why didn't he object at that point? If he was going to object, then why all the theatrics, having the witness identify the photos as from the drive, etc.?

What are they talking about at sidebar and in chambers if not these pieces of evidence?

<vent>

When did it become okay in criminal trials to trash the victim?

When did it become okay for defence lawyers to throw all kinds of irrelevant garbage at the jury hoping something sticks in order to divert their thinking from the real evidence and the real reason they are there?

As much as the defence witnesses have provided us with levity I am so angry at them for their tactics. Yesterday was joke. They know they have nothing and they knew their ship was sinking quickly with their useless witnesses. So in order to try save that ship they resort to showing "evidence" that shouldn't be allowed in the first place and successfully have questionable photos flashed in front of the jury and national television.

Shame on Nurmi and whats-her-name.

they probably have some computer savvy people on that jury, but for me, none of this made sense yesterday. if i were a juror, i would've been very confused and i don't think i'd be thinking about it at all before monday, except to hope that somebody explained it better.
