NG has "nice hair" again tonight.
O/T I emailed her and told her so.
NG has "nice hair" again tonight.
I personally thank you. You explained so eloquently what I've been trying to for more than a week. I don't have PTSD but a few years in an outreach advocacy and you see many people who do. Several of which have lamented over experiencing large memory gaps all their own - and how frightening and scary it is for them. How they grieve over birthday parties, first steps, and first days of school they can't remember from the height of their abuse. Or have terrible short term memory and can't seem to retain anything. And vicious flashbacks of things they may not fully 'grasp' as actually having happened because the memory is just so indistinct.I'm not asking anyone to judge my PTSD, and I'm not interested in a comparison between mine and anything related to JA. I was just explaining that PTSD can include memory gaps involving the precipitating event because posters have said that it's not part of PTSD or that it's not possible.
I don't mean to give JA any credit by explaining mine, but her misuse of the diagnosis doesn't mean we can't help explain various forms of it when we know them.
JA's is clearly malingering. Mine doesn't have to be judged to figure hers out. Everyone who does have PTSD with memory gaps doesn't need to be thrown under the bus by JA through her trying to hijack that form of the condition. It exists. She doesn't have it, though.
Just a few observations from today. First, crime scene analysis is often used, but to testify to the physical mechanics supported by the physical evidence. I have never seen a crime scene analysis to determine what the killer was thinking when the crime was committed. Second, JM said there was no research supporting this type of testimony to a "scientific certainty". The defense countered saying there was lot's of research on this subject, dropping the term "to a scientific certainty". This is very important, there has been a lot of research into UFOs, Big Foot and the Loch Ness monster. None of it is conclusive "to a scientific certainty". I would think a polygraph test is much more proven than this mind reading technique, but it still isn't admissible as evidence because it is not proven "to a scientific certainty". Last but not least, remember this guy has been a member of the defense team since the "Ninja" defense story. I have no way of knowing if he is explaining the facts of the case, or they built their defense case around his research. So to me, what all this amounts to is another day with no testimony, an off day in the trial.

I fully believe this is just another self-serving lie ala Arias - but we're doing a disservice to people who have to live with the aftermath of trauma, through no fault of their own, by discounting them all just because of her too.
JMO...and thank you for sharing, Writer, truly.
Did u guys catch this dialogue?
JW: How do we know she wasn't able to tell anybody vs. she just doesn't want to get in any trouble?
RS: I guess that could be an alternative explanation, but when something horrible like that happens - can you imagine the feeling of isolation, if you can't turn to a parent? If you can't turn to a friend? If you can't turn to a professional to seek some help? The turmoil must have been incredible so i consider that to be a significant indication that she suffered from that disorder.
Me: WHAT?!?!?!? You didn't answer the question. And your diagnosis is based on your projection of what you thought she went thru?
Revoke his license! Worst shrink ever.
It's the meek attempt at explaining away jodi's convenient FOG.
He really needs to explain the :convenience" part of it.
Ricki - your link didn't work for me
