I wonder if Juan could start HIS questioning of Samuels with a powerpoint presentation of his website?

When Samuels was discussing police shooting trauma I thought there was no way in heck any police force would have this guy on their critical incident stress management team.

"Working closely with public defenders and private attorneys". Says it all right there. He can't get a legit job so he sells himself.

The bizarre behavior was recorded during the July 15, 2008 police interrogation. I'm sure she knew she was going to be booked, she had already been read her Miranda rights and this was a 4 hour interrogation.

She spoke to LE again on July 16, 2008 after spending the night in jail, hence the orange jumpsuit.

Her behavior is similar to Amanda Knox's when she did the cartwheels at the police station..

Right?? How can he say his report will OFTEN result in a more favorable outcome for the client if he offered an unbiased opinion?? It would be less questionable if he said which "MAY" result in a more favorable outcome, because that is honest.. It may result in a favorable outcome, it may not. But to say it often does implies there is more to his evaluations than honest psychological assessing.

Something "often" gets in the way to result in a more favorable outcome

I agree it seems she loved knives. Dawn Treader actually remembered that it was in some boxes she had packed when she was arrested. I think it may have already been in the car packed. My understanding is she was literally about to drive away but I dont think she had left the house yet. The police said they had to move in because they were afraid she was going to flee.

I am so thankful LE did such a good job getting her off the streets. She really was dangerous and still is. She was even trying to smuggle notes out of jail. I dont trust her to this day.

Even yesterday, someone caught her on video sneaking with a pen in a folder during the trial. Almost like she may steal the pen or something. She is dangerous.

Packed, two knives and a secret .9-millimeter gun, hidden so well only found when her rental car was finally serviced.

Just watched the Fox video that's posted upthread. WTF!!! What the he!! is wrong with this woman? Totally bizarre.

Would someone please post the link to the second interview with Det. Flores.....the day she was arrested. Thanks

Not sure if this is it in it's entirety.

Thought I was the only one that noticed that! Looks like shredded wheat! I know she can afford it! There's always an atty with hair issues in the casey Anthony trial it was one of the counsellor s at the table and that atty woman from Chicago! Andrea something!
Could be they don't have time! Anyways if it was me! And I'm on national t.v? I'd want to look my best. Heck buy a wig with human hair.

LOL, and here I thought it was only me that noticed things like that! :) I noticed Wilmott had finally colored the roots of her hair a couple of weeks ago, but now it's already grown out again. Somebody should tell her about this new do it yourself root color that I've seen ads on TV about. I think it's Loreal.

I hope this family emergency doesn't delay the trial in any way for the sake of those poor jurors. They've got to be chomping at the bit by now.

She was worried about her makeup so maybe she was digging in the trash for a wet paper towel or something to wash those dirty feet of hers. Those were some dirty feet I noticed during the headstand!

LOL....I saw that and thought eeeewwwww Where were her shoes? She is NASTY!!!

:floorlaugh:

Personally, I think she's looking for some gum.

Jm and Det. Flores did bring up Jodi asking Det. Flores if she could put her make up on, when they went to her house to arrest her. There was no cameras there...

I wonder how much weird bazaar behaviour travis was privvy to! During his short affair with her. What did he see that we don't know!
I sure wish he would have taken precaution! And just break all communication. But something tells me! It would have happened anyways.

In his text message to Jodi travis told her that he would tell the Hughes, Freemans, her family, about the psycho things she did. i believe he was very aware of her psycho behaviors.

She knows there is a camera in that room. I think it is her way of de-stressing. Hope JM gets to use that. That and the back bend against the wall stretching herself to relieve stress. It shows she knows how to de-stress. She's not crazy. She just does not care. At this point it's, "Go ahead arrest me because I'll get out on bail and no one will convict me. You'll see, go ahead take your best shot." jmo

Can you imagine being arrested for this brutal murder, and you are worried about your freaking make up?! It just blows my mind and infuriates me.

Thank You, Harmony, for posting this ...

I was going to post just what you said ... but did not want to "derail" the thread ... :innocent:

use of mental defect or insanity is governed by state law. Az doesn't allow evidence concerning mental illness or defect in regard to or to negate the necessary intent element of the crime. "Insanity" is relevant only when it means the defendant did not know what they were doing was wrong at the time they did it. Then they can plead, "guilty, but insane". This standard has been challenged and in a seminal case in AZ, State v Clark the defendant, Clark, had undisputedly
suffered from chronic paranoid schizophrenia and had been actively psychotic
This case got appealed up to the S CT and the conviction was upheld.

This is a short summary:

Mr. Clark eventually began to believe that he was being poisoned and that the earth was being invaded by aliens. Mr. Clark's parents spent the months leading up to the shooting desperately trying to have him committed and treated, and they had called at least five facilities during the two days before the shooting searching for a way to get Mr. Clark treated. Tragically, these efforts were unsuccessful, and Mr. Clark shot and killed Officer Moritz in the early morning of June 21, 2000. The officer had been dispatched to a residential neighborhood on complaints of a vehicle circling the block and playing loud music. He was in his police uniform and was driving a marked patrol car when he located the vehicle, driven by Eric Clark, and stopped it. Nearly one minute after Officer Moritz exited his squad car, there was an exchange of gun shots, and Officer Moritz was mortally wounded.

If this kind of "insanity" didn't work I doubt anything the defense could come up with regarding Jodi would be successful. I think if this case was in a different state their decision could have been different. I think a majority of the states have adopted the Model Penal Code Insanity test which is much broader. If they had that to work with they may have gone for it. But they're in AZ and must work with that state's rule.

Under this test, "a person is not responsible for criminal conduct if at the time of such conduct as a result of mental disease or defect he lacks substantial capacity either to appreciate the criminality of his conduct or to conform his conduct to the requirements of the law."

IMO diminished capacity (or whatever the U.S. legal term is for insanity) would have been a much better defence, from their point of view.

I'm sure Samuels, for the same fee, would have found her incompetent to stand trial, and insane at the time of Travis' ghoulish murder. This new tape alone would support that!

I know, I know, sociopaths/psychopaths are not technically insane - I am talking about Samuels and Arias spinning it (she is used to being spun, eh?).

The jury would have gone for that plea in a heart beat. She would be escorted off to a mental facility (I presume same as Canada) and out again in no time.

Thank the stars above they didn't go this route! :jail:
