It is so good to try as you have done. I am sure some of it is sinking in. As you probably already know, Kids are amazingly observant and have a knack to pretend they are not interested and not paying attention but really they do pick up stuff.

I once taught a class of young kids as a guest teacher and I could swear the whole class was not paying attention at all. They were not looking at the front and purposely acting up. I thought it was a waste of time.

Then at the very end of the class, I got some amazing questions about the subject. The kids really were listening and just pretending they did not want me there.

Unfortunately, my kids are 27 & 30. The older one did have a girlfriend who was, I think, bipolar, so he has gotten a taste of that. But they really don't want dating tips from their mother.

I noticed a couple of other things, though, that perhaps the jury SHOULD see:

She picked up the trash can with her right hand. Now, that could be because the can was on that side of her body. But, when she's playing with her water bottle, she's using her right hand, too. She has her left hand in her lap. Highly unusual for a left handed person UNLESS there was an injury to that hand (as we know there WAS.) Maybe she was trying to hide it from the camera because it was injured and she was aware it was rolling.

I have been pretty much obsessed with that finger, but could find no good images UNTIL I saw her put her hands on her head. I paused, did a screen shot and zoomed. Sure enough, that left ring finger is swollen and discolored. No way it would still look like that from an incident in January. It would, however, if she severely injured it the month before stabbing Travis and it was beginning to heal.

I tried to attach these, but not sure I know what I'm doing and not sure it's allowed. Still, I'd love some thoughts on her suddenly turning into a right handed person AND if you see the same discoloration and swelling I do... TIA

Sometimes I kind of have doubts about her being left handed because two of the times she cut her Finger on glasses, it was always the right. If she is reaching back and rotatating margarita glasses at work, wouldn't she be using her dominant hand? Sometimes i think that she actually said she was left handed to throw authorities off? Then she comes up with she's Ambidextrous. I dont know why I even try to figure her out. It is not doable :banghead:

I am wondering.. if the assumptions are correct on why the video hasn't been shown in court, why would the judge say video of JA during the interrogation is too prejudicial?? It is accurate, it ain't the state's fault she is cuckoo for cocoa puffs and psychopathic!

i believe the DP would have been difficult to get in....she would have, as an earlier poster said (sorry forgot who?) most likely got the 'mental illness' defense...

Right?? How can he say his report will OFTEN result in a more favorable outcome for the client if he offered an unbiased opinion?? It would be less questionable if he said which "MAY" result in a more favorable outcome, because that is honest.. It may result in a favorable outcome, it may not. But to say it often does implies there is more to his evaluations than honest psychological assessing.

Yes. And it keeps coming back to me that after she confronted Mimi at the memorial service, when she is interviewed by Det. Flores, she repeats (almost as if to herself), "This didn't have to happen."

That tells me so much.

I agree. I think that was her trigger. That she knew he would never marry her. It killed her that after she had let him do what he wanted hoping it would make him want her and love her , he was not biting. I don't think it was the cancun trip in itself. I think it was all the things that said. I don't want you.

I'm think she could be ambidextrous. I had an aunt like that. People said she was horrible to play tennis with because she had no backhand, just switched the racquet on the fly.

use of mental defect or insanity is governed by state law. Az doesn't allow evidence concerning mental illness or defect in regard to or to negate the necessary intent element of the crime. "Insanity" is relevant only when it means the defendant did not know what they were doing was wrong at the time they did it. Then they can plead, "guilty, but insane". This standard has been challenged and in a seminal case in AZ, State v Clark the defendant, Clark, had undisputedly This case got appealed up to the S CT and the conviction was upheld.

If this kind of "insanity" didn't work I doubt anything the defense could come up with regarding Jodi would be successful. I think if this case was in a different state their decision could have been different. I think a majority of the states have adopted the Model Penal Code Insanity test which is much broader. If they had that to work with they may have gone for it. But they're in AZ and must work with that state's rule.

My son is 12, after watching the sociopath Miss Arias.....I don't think I will ever let him date lol. When the time comes perhaps I could pay Dr. Samuels to evaluate each potential girl he is interested in :floorlaugh:

I am behind in reading posts so forgive me if this has been mentioned already. Am I the only one that thinks it is very strange timing for the never before seen video of part of the interigation where JA is acting like a very strange duck in the pond. Seems strange that it would show up 1 day after the "Good DR" decribed all of the effects of her PTSD. I don't think something is right here. Like PR of some sort.

But even with older kids getting advice from their Mom, I am sure they deep down appreciate the information and they are probably absorbing a lot more than they are letting on.

It was the same way for me and my siblings. When we finally got much older we made sure we let our parents know how much we appreciated all the advice they gave us and are still giving us. It took us until we were about 35-45 before we finally would be mature enough to thank our parents for all the "talks".

Dont worry, I am sure you will get this same sort of thanks from them someday. Dont ever stop trying. They appreciate you much more than they will let on for now. Some day, they will thank you for all of it.

I wonder if it's me, but during her testiphoney, I was struck at how much of an insignificant loser she was. She wasn't compelling or particularly intelligent- although a whole lotta dupes thought otherwise. She struck me as surprisingly powerLESS, not powerFUL and I've always in a weird way equated evil with dark power.

She was a nobody from nowhere with no value. A grifter having made no contributions to the world.

She met a guy with an enviable lifestyle she felt she deserved to share in, presented herself *** up for the world to see, and when he attempted to pull away from her, she plotted to murder him.

She's no multi-layered onion blossom as the media portrays. Her complexity is on par with a ding dong or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

You are right that she is very one dimensional. She's flat, non emotive, people have said "dead eyes" describing her. And I truly believe that evil cannot act human. I'm sure people will laugh at me or roll their eyes but there ARE people out there who can NOT be helped because there is nothing within them TO help. They are essentially walking demons, monsters, whatever you want to call them. Jeffrey Dahmer's father KNEW there was something wrong with his son, but outside of killing him, what do you do?

I think THAT is what makes this trial so creepy/unsettling for me.

When Samuels was discussing police shooting trauma I thought there was no way in heck any police force would have this guy on their critical incident stress management team.

"Working closely with public defenders and private attorneys". Says it all right there. He can't get a legit job so he sells himself.

He probably writes favorable reports for workers compensation clients. I can't wait to see Juan question this Yahoo.

What gets me is he was in charge of custody cases. His "favorable" evaluations altered children's lives forever, all for the almighty dollar. :furious: The report in which he was fined, he didn't even meet with the Mom. Guys like this should do jail time!! He should have been charged with child abuse.

Maybe with them bringing in the "fog" defense and PTSD, the issue can be revisited? Would someone with PTSD behave this way immediately after being questioned formally for the first time about the traumatic event? :twocents:
