Because he believes in justice and fighting for it. God bless him.

He does not badger witnesses. I have seen worse Prosecutors in other cases that screamed to the top of their lungs and the Judges allowed it. This is not a walk in the park. Cross examination is suppose to be confrontational and then add that to a doctor who is inept, clueless and less than credible.........Juan did the right thing.

I have been a juror 5 times. I find Juan Martinez to be the best Prosecutor I have ever seen since watching criminal cases. I would have liked to have seen some of the Prosecutors on the cases I served on that has this much passion when seeking justice for the victim.

I am in awe of Juan and I am riveted every time he is up. The only ones that seem to criticize him are the ones that are not in the courtroom. Everyone that has been in that courtroom day in and day out... including Beth Karas...said in all of her years as a commentator in courtrooms he is by far the best she has ever seen.

If he was badgering the Judge would tell him to stop. He doesn't have to play Mr. Nice Guy with not so nice people.

IMO

Agree with all the above. Also, Jodi was an IMPOSSIBLE witness. If anything he showed restraint.

I don't agree with your opinion about Travis. Many have been in relationships and have been infatuated at first then they come to their senses and realize they don't need this person in their lives. Men and women have both been known to think with something else other than their brains. Its not just a male thing. Women have walked out on a good husband and even her own children to go to a jerk because he gave her better sex. Its unfair to say that Travis is to blame for his own murder and it was caused because it was all about sex with JA imo.

This has nothing to do with Travis being gaa gaa over sex with Arias. This is a domestic violence abuse case that ended in homicide when the victimizer became enraged because the victim finally had the courage to reject the dangerous abuser. Just like so many others before and after Travis have paid the ultimate price for having the courage to do the same. Victims are more prone to being murdered after a break up than at any other time.

JA like so many stalker/abuser.. whether they be male or females.. they are extremely dangerous and will not take 'no' for an answer. Just like she ignored him when he told her there wasn't room for her to stay at his home and she wasn't his girlfriend. Just like she ignored him when he told her to leave him alone.:furious:

JA used sex as a tool and even that was no longer enough. He didn't want the sex and he didn't want her in his life anymore and he died because of it. Travis had not even seen her once since she moved and had no intentions of doing so. Travis' life was moving on and better without JA in it. His friends said he was happy she moved. I am sure he felt relief for the first time in a long time. No more slashed tires, peering in his windows, coming into his home without permission when he was with someone else.

But being the psychopath stalker she is she came to his home unannounced so she could end the relationship HER way and take control away from Travis.:furious: If he had sex with her that day he was coerced (another tragic thing that happens to DV victims) into having sex he did not want hoping like hell she would once again go and leave him alone. Imo, that is why he talked sex talk with her knowing she was a 1000 miles away. He wanted to keep her that way........at a far distance!:furious:

I can see Juan asking the DV lady all these questions and finishing with this could also be true if the victim were male, isn't that correct? It is so obvious when you consider the evidence that she is the one who was abusive. Maybe not physically but mentally. In the end, physically and mortally.

I always felt that when a female stays in a bedroom and sleeps with a male partner that sex between them is consensual. If you don't want it you say so.....not well I really didn't want to disappoint him. She wasn't too embarrassed to give him oral sex in the park after just meeting him. She is just one big contradiction. jmo

This is the first trial I have ever followed and it has been an emotional experience. I am not sure I will be able to follow another one. I am Leary of the justice system from personal experience but I keep having faith that justice will prevail.

I don't believe so. I know she lived in Montreal for awhile after she was released. I'm from the same city where the murders occurred and where her family and victim's family still live. It was a very scary time. She is a monster. After all she did though she made a deal and had very limited jail time. She also took part in jail activities...fashion shows, singing, hanging out with her jail friends. Many Canadians were and still are disgusted and felt justice wasn't served. Don't get me started about her partner in crime, PB. Sick people!!!:banghead:

She married her lawyers brother and lives in the Caribbean where's she's raising her children and selling baby products online. :what:

Hi neighbor! :seeya:

I think JA would have thrown him under the bus by now and blamed the entire murder on him.

Frankly, I am surprised she hasn't done it yet. She would claim she was protecting him up until now. That would be why she's free to give him orders in magazine codes. She has something on him, something big.

Other evidence pointing to an accomplice are purchases of 2 sunscreens, 2 hamburgers, etc.

I suspected him as an accomplice the minute she described meeting him and noticing that he was chivalrous and well-mannered, so sweet and such a good, loyal friend who would NEVER NEVER BETRAY HER... Let me ask you, when was the last time you described a friend as someone who would never betray you?

If I were writing this story as a docunovel, I would have the second person be her former lover from before her sex reassignment surgery.

It wouldn't be any more surprising than what pops up on a daily basis in this case!

LOLZ!! I log on to try to catch up....BAM! 1 liter 'soda' drinker picture! I thought surely it was photoshopped. lolol!!
How in the hell did she get that giant bottle in the courtroom??
I try sneaking a tiny flask of Crown in a hockey game... in my GIANT purse and only get a pass because I know the door guy at that particular entrance. lol!

When is Dr <mod snip> going to be off the stand? What a joke, and I think this won't show on his fake CV .

Ok, I DO think Jodi is up to quite a number of sneaky things during this. All the sneaky folder/paper/meds/etc moves are seriously not on the up and up.

I'm so ready for the deliberation phase.

How could she possibly remember that event? Was the water cold? Was it hot? There ya go! No memory possible! Next!

That was when she said Travis had candles and rose petals down the hall, into the bathroom and around the tub. Jodi told Travis he made her feel like a goddess on the sex call and has testified about too. OH and it had bubbles.

Respectfully, I kind of think it IS pretty much exactly how our system is supposed to work. I do feel horrible for Travis's family having to sit thru this. Especially, after losing him so tragically, then having to hear this woman slander him when he can't defend himself. The way JA has handled this is wrong wrong wrong.

However, as far as our justice system, I do think this is basically, exactly how it's supposed to work. JA has a right to a fair trial, to present a defense, to a jury of her peers, etc., etc. Just like all of us would want if we or someone we cared about was on trial for murder.

I think she's getting a fair trial. And thats what we want, because, if she doesn't, they can appeal it. The judge has to let JW go thru all this (the test questions) if that is the strategy the defense chooses (for better or worse and I think maybe worse I don't know). Juan got to take as long as he wanted (he's much more effective in most observer's opinions and more entertaining tho Im not saying that's his goal)and there are folks who thought it was belabored. My point is that they are giving her a fair trial.

It's the defense job to defend and the prosecutor's job to prosecute. And the judges job to make sure each side gets a fair chance. Thats what they are doing IMO. It's very interesting to watch.

No one has ever dared mention the place this woman went back to live. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be judgemental, but when she went back to Yreka, she moved into basically a shack. Her room there was about the size that she probably lives in now. The photos the LE took (from the "burglary" that occurred there) include chite all over the place and junk piled up high. So when she was inviting TA to visit her in Yreka, was she enticing him to her little den at the Grandparent's abode? TA had never seen where she had lived or what her "arrangements" were. I'm not the least bit surprised that she's comfortable in jail. Not much of a difference from what I can see - apart from Starbucks and road trips.

moo

Seriously. What IF he had gone to Yreka to see her? Where was he going to stay? Would she have brought him to that house to see how she really lived? Or would she have found someone else's house to use as hers for that time? She was so out of Travis' league, where he was at the time of his death, it is truly pathetic.

MOO

You believe the domestic violence accusation? On Jodi's part? I'm confused.
You think she was a victim of domestic violence??
Are you confused about OBE's post? You may want to take another look. She's one of the "good guys". lol
She doesn't believe Arias either.

Okayyyy... Yesterday... JA was coloring/writing with her left hand....

Today...IIRC.... she was writing with her right hand....

Are we going to see her coloring with her toes tomorrow? :waitasec:

As long as we don't have to see her coloring with her other bits....

I wish I could remember the name of the book...just remember that it had a picture on the cover of she and Paul on their wedding day. I do remember, however, that of all the books I read back then (I really loved Ann Rule's books the best!) it was one where the crimes were so horrific that I would actually have to put the book down and walk away...

"Deadly Innocence", IIRC.

Oh no! It was a good day to skip though. Willmott finished redirect with Samuels and somehow managed to produce no testimony of note, then someone barfed in the courtroom and they called it a day.

It was truly freudian wasn't it LOL!! We all wanted to barf, and then someone actually did.

Not wanting to continue being OT here...just wanted to clear something up. I used Karla's case as a comparison to the OP reference that in Canada the defendant would be in a prisoner's box during trial and not as free as JA.

IMO the police had enough evidence against PB (including the evidence against him as a serial rapist and the 3 murders - her sister, and two other young girls). They didn't need KH to turn on him and cut a deal. He would still have been put away for life. She was just as culpable in the murders IMO and should have been locked up forever.

Anyway...again this is not the place to debate the two cases. I still believe the Canadian system needs to be tougher on criminals....BUT that is just my opinion.

Well, that's fine with me. You have a right to your opinion, but if you're from St. Catharines, you know the missteps that happened in the PB/KH case. It's comparing apples to oranges. If everything went as it should, Karla would be serving a life sentence (at least 25 years). The only difference between Canada and the U.S. is the death penalty. Canada doesn't have that, but other than that, the systems are very similar.

From the mouths of babes...the high school girl who is a Dr. Drew juror says the testimony today was repetitive, jury bored and "what does POST traumatic stress have to do with PRE meditation or this crime"

And this is the same girl who on a previous appearance on Dr. Drew's show said she looked up to Willmott and wants to be a criminal defense attorney.

She may change her mind and admire Juan Martinez by the time this is over.

:)

I think we're all going to lose our ever lovin minds before this trial is over. By yesterday a.m. I had had about enough. Turned the TV on in the kitchen and between yesterday and today, the kitchen walls are scrubbed, curtains washed and appliances, counters and cupboards are all polished. When I'm upset, I look like a dustbuster in action.

I'm glad I don't have the time to watch this whole thing. I started out recording it but found the whole trial so far off track, that I stopped watching. The defense should have spent more time on the physical evidence and less time on Jodi's love life. I also think the media coverage of this is so bad. I have a feeling that a lot of media people will be let go after this, unfortunately they will probably let the wrongs ones go. By the way are you available because my house could use a good cleaning.

Ok, it's obvious court is over for today. Someone hurled - and you know any excuse is a good excuse to end early with this judge.

Let's just hope they got sick from something they ate or drank. God forbid it's some type of virus or flu that's going to go through the gallery and jury and we have a new one each day falling ill. I'm beginning to think I'm going to be dead and gone before Jodi is ever going to get the DP.:banghead:

Ugh, I just plugged in the old fashioned way, with the red, white and yellow spare jacks that I had. What is with the freaky hair flipping video?!

You tell me. Some body language expert on NG said she was trying to sexualities her appearance and posture, which I could see what she was saying but there is more to it than that. All women "use their charms" occasionally. But in handcuffs? Facing first degree murder?
