She'd have to have arms like Kareem Abdul-Jabar. Seriously.

I am 5'11" with some long monkey arms and I doubt I could inflict that kind of damage on a reach around. Um. No. Just no.

MOO.

Right? I'm 5'6'' but I have monkey arms too and...no. Not to mention the blood splatter. Pretty sure it wouldn't look like that if that were the case.

you said "reach around" :floorlaugh:

On the pro-Jodi site, they have an 'interesting' theory about those back stab wounds. Some pf her supporters say that he was laying on top of her and she was stabbing him in the back to try and get free.

I am trying hard to 'make that work' but it just doesn't. If he was on top of her then why wouldn't he be controlling her arms. And how could she continue to stab him in the back from such a 'weak' position? It is hard to imagine that she could stick in the knife, pull it free and do so over and over, while he is on top of her. Why wouldnt he prevent her from using her arms if his body was on top of hers already?

Brilliant example of giving the best answer to your own question - it makes no sense for a reason :) Kudos!

The only way something like this would be possible would be if Travis was already immobilized (and tiny). So despite the geometry not making sense, the only way she could have stabbed his back from underneath him is if his arms no longer worked - thus he's not a threat.

He's not a threat at this point no matter what. I don't believe he was a threat at all. There would be wounds indicating use of knuckles - or other injuries that correlate with aggression or being the attacker. None. All his wounds (when he was still functioning) were defensive. And JA had band-aids covering cuts on her fingers. I call that uninjured. She was never under attack or threatened. imv.

How long did JA and Travis "date"? TIA

If you believe JA, they were official from February 2007 to June 2007.

From the initial meeting in September 2006 to murder in early June 2008. Still can't wrap my brain around that...good god.

Beautifully worded.

Jodi Arias is acting this way because it is part of the expanded Law of Attraction philosophy.

"Acting As If" was introduced to the world by Christian author Catherine Marshall in her famous novel "Christy" written in 1967. This principle is often taught along with the Law of Attraction.

As you might guess, it means to act as though the thing you want to manifest is already in reality. Arias appears to behave in a manner disassociated with reality, when in fact, she is simply pretending, like Schuby says. She is living the principle "Acting As If" as if the force of her wish could make it come true.

People who follow the advice of "The Secret" make posters of all the material things they want and are supposed to look at it daily.

I found one of my daughters doing this and had a talk with her immediately, teaching her the value of gratitude for what you have, appreciation as it relates to happiness. I told her the story of the happiest man on earth. It is a trash collector, I believe, in Calcutta. He lives in a shack and never stops smiling. He was interviewed in a movie which scoured the world interviewing people about why they were happy. When asked about his hovel, he said, "It's very nice. It faces the right direction and we have such a nice breeze--not just once a day but morning AND night. This is very important because it is so hot. So we are very lucky."

It's late and I digress. Thanks for an interesting evening catching up on WS.

the HLN Jury voted Jodi guilty of showing no remorse, 10-2.

So far all of the votes have been 10 to 2. That makes me a little nervous here too. What id there are one or two Jodi supporters on the jury?

Maybe there are 10 that want to vote DP. Hopefully the remaining 2 will negotiate for LWOP. I have no problem with LWOP. :jail::jail::jail:

I haven't followed this trial as closely as most of you due to time constraints, but I am waiting with baited breath for JM Closing Argument, and am hoping he addresses this question of mine early on...

Where is the proof that Travis EVER actually engaged in any form of actual intercourse (vaginal/oral/anal) with Jodi???? (or anyone else for that matter?)

I have seen (heard) substantiated evidence that he DID engage in "fantasy phone sex/texting" and did allow himself to be photographed in the nude, but where has anyone testified of knowledge that their relationship had actually been consummated? Did he ever discuss with close friends, etc?

95% of Jodi's statements have been PROVEN to be lies, so why the sudden jump to believe she is telling the truth about their sexual relationship??!! Didn't she even admit during cross that some of her stories didn't really happen, but were instead just "fantasy"? (re: the Travis pulling up in driveway, her coming outside to perform oral sex and then her retreating back to house and he drove away)

I am just having a real hard time believing this young man, who was apparently very strong in his convictions of a Mormon lifestyle, responsible, etc would lead a double life as a "sexual deviant" or think Jodi was his "dirty little secret no one would every know about?

Is it possible that Travis justified in his mind that he was still following the guidelines for sexual activity if he didn't cross that line? Are the acts of "sexual talk" and nude photography forbidden as well, or could these acts be justified in your mind as staying within a fine line?

Since it hasn't been proven to me that a sexual interaction relationship actually occurred, and if I apply the credibility of Jodi's statements regarding everything else, the whole sexual control/abuse/aspect flies right out the window!

I think it is possible that Jodi was attempting to manipulate Travis INTO a sexual relationship from the beginning (thinking once he crossed that threshold for the first time, he would be hers forever) and all future actions (manipulations, recordings, photos) by Jodi were out of frustration that her sexual appetite was not working with THIS relationship.

The last trip out to AZ was (in her opinion) a last ditch effort and when he again refused her advances, and perhaps left the room to shower, she realized she lost for good, and snapped? Travis, obviously, had moved on and was excited by his new relationship.

The character assignation of this young man by Jodi and her defense team has been disgusting to follow and I hope JM will take his opportunity in closing arguments to drive home the young man Travis was!

I get where you're coming from but it's all there in the phone sex tape, not just fantasy talk but talk about what they had done.

I have missed the threads and chat in last 2 days.

I have had a very very good friend Who today was buried in the National Cemetery in Georgia. for veterans, they give you 2 lines, 15 letters each. His headstone will say....God and country, beloved by all..

Sorry to hear that ATL. The inscription on the headstone is perfect. My husband was a veteran of the Viet Nam era and when he passed they had no room in the veteran cemetery for him. Sad to think how many soldiers were buried there. I wanted him near his father who was a WWII Veteran.

I've watched a lot of Law and Order so I know that's only true for a plea deal. This, however, is different because it's done after all the evidence is presented in the trial and the request is given to the judge (likely with strong objections from JM).

All I know, per nursebe, is what is on the table.....1st degree murder, and felony murder. Yes it was a plea deal....and the prosecutor said no way.

I have no doubt that the defense will request that after the evidence is presented. I don't see how the Judge would add a lesser charge though. Thanks for explaining it!

And that is exactly how it is still done today....I am no chemist but this I know, lol.

Why did she have to get on the floor to do the hair flip? I think the room was probably smaller than it looked on camera, but she could have scooted the chair back or turned sideways on the chair or simply stood up. She knew she was being recorded. I think it was all for show. Someone, somehow, somewhere would see that recording and be seduced by her irresistible charms (Detective Flores, to her befuddlement, was apparently immune to her charms) into cutting her some slack of some kind.

Scene I'd like to have seen: She flirtatiously does her stripper-style hair toss and hits her head on the table in the process.

What's a femme fatale killer supposed to do? I mean she didn't have time to get underwear made with "Flores" across the backside.

It was interesting when Jodi watched Travis's ex Lisa testify. A nice young lady, the same age Jodi was when she met Travis. Lisa now is married, had a baby recently. She was the type of girl Travis was looking to marry. And there sat Jodi who wanted that life so badly but instead will spend every day from age 28 til she dies, behind bars.

It's a terrible shame but everyone makes choices that they have to learn to live with. JA didn't need to live in a shack. She needed to get off her lazy behind, get her GED, get an education or job and make something of herself. Everything isn't always handed to you in life. If it's worth having, it's worth working for.

At this time murder 1 is the only thing on the table. She walks if jury buys self defense - justifiable homicide in AZ.

I didn't want to believe this but it has been verified by our verified attnys.

I believe that 2nd is another charge along with a couple of other charges. One of them should be for lying to L.E. I had a link but now it's not working. Try later gotta go enjoy the wonderful weather, and walk the dog.

The only reason I think that MIGHT not have been a goal of Jodi's is because she is such a narrcisst and obsessed with travis affection, a baby might have been a threat to jodi.

Moo:fence:
I agree with you. The only reason Casey Anthony had Caylee is because Cindy wouldn't have let her have an abortion. (Not that she needed her consent as an adult). Caylee was never a wanted child by Casey, only for the attention it brought her.

I thought Juan already stated something to the affect that the prosecution did not or won't deny Travis had sex with her that fateful day... IMO it may be because the photo's tell that particular story and cannot be proved otherwise.. even IF she could have set the timer for her crudee <eek> shots... however without solid proof on the contrary, may as well go along with it since it still shows the truth that JA was using sex to get and keep her man regardless :twocents:

I want that underwear! He has a super dreamy voice and isn't bad on the eyes. But I digress.

True and her vanity! And pride would be threatened! If she gained weight as a result of pregnancy.
