So martinez was not given a chance to cross the quack? After wilmot was done?
No, DT witness.
DT does direct, and state gets to cross - that's it.
EXCEPT for the defendant herself - then re-cross is sometimes allowed.

And to think her mom did this after knowing those letters were forgeries. Her moms behavior in the courtroom has been bazaar! Considering her daughter could be facing the DP.
Unbelievable.

Just to be clear, there's no evidence whether the letters were forgeries or not. They weren't allowed in because the copies available to the experts were not originals or copies sufficient to permit expert testimony.

What is up with court *gasp* ON A FRIDAY?

Hey, I just had a long conversation about 'purple drank' with my 20 yr old DD. She was telling me about it because we were in the car when the story about Lil Wayne, being in the hopspital for seizures, came on. And she and her friends said what it was all about. I had no idea. LOL

Look at the darn side effects! Can somebody explain to me what in the heck enjoyment anyone gets out of drinking this when you know darn well you are going to get sick or worse? If I even 'think' I'm going to be sick, I go to bed and go to sleep. I'll do anything to avoid throwing up.

That's RIGHT - I forgot with all the hoopla. So we should be ready to rumble right out of the gate.

My guess is the DT requesting a sidebar and stalling right out of the gate. They'll claim that an hour did not give them sufficient time to review so many questions...

Since these questions are for the RS, is JA privvy to viewing the questions too? Guessing not - I don't recall her sitting in for other juror questions (but just because I didn't see it doesn't mean it didn't happen - but I don't think it did), just her own.

Wonder if RS gets to see them in advance - or worse - *with* the DT, since he's an 'expert' witness... sure hope not, but other rules are different for expert witnesses vs. 'regular' witnesses, I believe.

Or maybe they want to start with ALV on Monday. Unless the Qs open things up for further questioning by both sides...

Guess we'll find out in about 13-14 hours! :)

Well, to me these little HLN juries are deciding on seperate factors, so a 10-2 isn't that concerning. What I'm hoping is that the real jury looks at everything collectively, including the aggravating factors. The things like the flowers, the voice mails, the lies about pedophilia, domestic abuse, PTSD, and the total manipulation of the system in a desperate attempt at self-preservation at the victim's expense.

There are certain jurors that don't want to put her to death so by ruling for first degree she could get the death penalty, even though they say they have no problem ruling that way they do. There are 120 men and only 3 women on DR in Arizona right now. I thought they would put second degree just in case this happens.

I didn't watch the entire trial but was under the impression that the laundered camera with the SIM card was found in the washer with sheets. What was in the washing machine along with the camera?
The camera was in with the second load of laundry done that day - the load Arias did after the murder.
It included Travis' clothing, and towels, and socks.

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: :floorlaugh:

When I lived in Los Angeles, I made friends with a number of adult film actors. JA wasn't even close. For all the attention she's received, she reads alien and oddly asexual to me.

I felt sorry for TA too- he seemed almost...naive. That might sound strange, given what he said during the phone call, but he came across as someone trying to feign more experience than he had.

Sweetly posturing, imo.

BBM.....I said the EXACT same thing to my mother tonight!

So after Samuels answers the juror questions, willmott will have first shot at him, but Juan gets LAST SHOT - and that's a better position - thank God.

Thank you
Why is it than when martinez questions a witness! He does in a short time! Than here comes nurmi or wilmott and drag it on for so miserably torturous long! Can you imagine how sick the poor jury get when it's their turn.

I recently moved a large heavy piece of furniture across a slick floor. I put towels under both ends and "slid" it into place. Someone mentioned earlier that JA may have used one of the sheets to slide TA's body to the shower then put the sheets into the washing machine.

I agree.
I was watching a home improvement show once and they explained how to move heavy objects. They said you should never try to lift it but always drag it. And also to always drag it and never push it. They said dragging rather than pushing is much easier.

So dragging is the way to go, and I think Jodi could have managed it rather easily on a wet floor or slick floor.

Schuby said:
They also discussed the fact that they had had sex and whether they should or do regret it

Good catch. I had forgotten that.

How long did JA and Travis "date"? TIA

TA's friend Clancy Talbot, who was on the prosecution's witness list but did not testify, was on HLN today talking about TA and JA. She talked about JA confronting her in the ladies' room.

http://www.hlntv.com/video/2013/03/20/friend-travis-alexander-clancy-talbot-prosecution-witness-list

Clancy said that just before Christmas 2006 a group of TA's friends stayed over at his house. The girls took his bedroom and Travis slept in his office. JA came over and tried to tell everyone she was his girl friend, but Travis said she was not his girl friend, that they had only gone on a couple of dates.

TA told JA there was no room for her to sleep there. Clancy said JA slept underneath the Christmas tree.

At some later date--JA claims February--TA did refer to her as his girlfriend. By her own admission they ceased being gf/bf on June 29, 2007.

On the phone call that was recorded after JA's return to Yreka, Travis told her he was planning to visit her before he left for Cancun. He told her, "You are at the top of the list."

I know little about these so-called forged letters -- I do remember DrQuack saying speaking of "letters that he got after his diagnosis". Were these forged letters part of his "diagnosis"?

Not that I'm cutting Jodi slack, but actually Excedrin does work on "true Migraines". I know. I get them to the point of nausea and barfing if I don't take it within 20 min. of onset. At that point, I don't get relief unless I barf. Happened a couple of weeks ago, a really bad one that lasted about 4 hours. I also have light and noise sensitivity to the point where it feels like my head is exploding. I consider it a true migraine, even though I don't get auras.

I'm so happy you find relief with Excedrin! I wish it would work for me. Unfortunately, mine don't go away without the prescription medicine and even with it, they can last for days. I feel your pain.

I referenced Aspirin because it was rumored to be the pill JA took yesterday in court. Then, we have JA hoarding the Motrin/Advil for her Bic suicide attempt.

I still don't understand how the jail/court would allow a prisoner to take something in court without supervision. They are allowing this after she testi-lies to stocking up on Advil/Motrin to commit suicide.

I think you hit the nail on the head - the DT is torturing us. lol

FYI, a "bazaar" is a market. "Bizarre" is the word you were looking for.
;)

This teachable moment brought to you by the letter "B".

Darn, I was hoping for no trial today because Jodi paperclipped & pencilled herself to death last night. Nooo. She appears again. Same as with that shaking business she has. It just doesn't happen. Shaking out of rage but not out of fear. jmo

Disposition Information
Party Name ARSCode Description Crime Date Disposition Code Disposition Date
Jodi Ann Arias 13-1105 (F1) MURDER 1ST DEGREE 6/4/2008

This is it nothing else YET.

There are two charges right now. 1st degree and felony murder. According to the verified attorneys, or at least one of them, the lesser includeds can be charged if warranted at the close of evidence. I believe that to be true because one of the cases Juan tried as 1st degree was later charged as 2nd degree or man (can't remember which) over the defense's objection. The defense's position was that the State charged 1st degree so should prove it. It was the case of the Suns' nutritionist and his ex-wife I think
