I do my best to describe it but I don't feel I ever really can. The best evidence to show it is Jodi herself while testifying. Being in a relationship with a psychopath is about asclosetocrazy as one can become. Sometimes, quite literally too, victims of psychopaths have developed mental illness all their own as a result of the relationship.

Brain-washing, crazy-making, master manipulators capable of fully convincing their targets that down is up, the sky is green, etc.

For me, it's kind of a wonder we're not watching Travis on trial for her murder instead...and even more of a testament to what a patient soul he really must have been.
