trial day 35: the defense continues its case in chief #99

But sadly, there are murder cases going on all over the place, likely for just as long. I am not sure. Not everyone gets the attention. I could not handle 3+ months on 7-40 dollars a day.

Don't most companies pay you for doing your civic duty? I know my company pays for jury duty.

i liked the question about if he usually makes mistakes and he says very assertively "no!"

so this case was special eh doc?

LOL, no prob Linda From New York, just go to the new link and there's not as many back posts to read. Only if you get there really quick, though!

:D

What happens if a juror cannot handle the financial strain this lengthy trial might be causing them? I need to check my company's policy. Although I have never been called to JD.

In Arizona, in long trials, the jury can petition the court to make the same wage as if they were at their "normal" job. They can petition for up to $300 per day. They aren't making $ off their services, but they aren't losing money either. Unless, they make over $300 per day.

In the observers thread, KCL said Jodi got busted a few days ago for passing things to her mom via the MIT specialist. The ribbons might have been her revenge ore retaliation.

The Drs answers seem to be helping the Prosecution. He said a made up story frequently would be consistent from recitation to recitation and presented with a flat affect.
He is describing EXACTLY what JA has done in this case. She uses the exact same descriptors every single time and has absolutely no emotion while she recites her "story".

I was thinking the exact same thing. The only time she added to her story or showed even slight change in emotion is when she got PO'd at Mr. M.

He only makes mistakes on nationally telavised death penalty murder trials... nowhere else.

I keep seeing "Jodi traded up" posts - I must have missed it. What was said? Was it something Jodi told Doc? Was it a juror question? TIA!!!

Samuels offered it up.

He quoted her statements to him and from her diary where he concluded that she had low self-esteem because he said that JA believed that Travis was so wonderful and placed him on a pedestal, and she thought of and described TA as a different or higher class of guy.

Of course, JA was comparing TA to the likes of Bobby Juarez, Matt McCartney, and Daryl Brewer. A rather low bar, IMO.

I think everyone including the jury has seen Jodi on the stand for so long that they have all made up their minds already as to her guilt or not.
The jurors already are aware this Samuels guy is a hired gun for the defence team and that anything he says will be for the defence.
With all the evidnce that has been shown previously in the trial, self defence seems like a pretty hard leap for anyone to take.
Even Jodi herself changes from day to day, combative to the prosecution, smiley, dead stare and whatever else she thinks that particular day would make her look more human to the jurors.
I think our man Juan is going to put the final bomb onto her soon.I'm sure he has saved something great for the end to finish her off.

The defence team seems to freak out as soon as he's up for cross exam and you can see wilmonts mouth starting to say objection before Juan has even asked a question.
I think this is a sign they themselves know their case is week at best.
The defence team is running out of hired guns that can do them any good and they know it.
Have faith people our man Juan is not finished yet

I want ya'll to know I can understand that question.

I am very particular on how my hair looks. If my hair dresser does something different or I ask for a cut that I cannot manage I really think I go through PTSD.

It was prolly the "hairdresser" who ask that. Wasnt that juror #5 "Tricolor"

She could relate to customer having trama with their bad hair do's. If she is in fact a hairdresser.

I bet all the lawyers were united on that one...what the what?????

Lol they can all come to court with elephant t shirts
You know they've been wearing those ribbons for a long time
It's a way of ja to control
Does she fear its going downhill for her?

I was thinking that's probably what "the tattletale" was telling the bailiff the other day. I never did hear or read about anything else it could have been. Has anyone heard?

I deleted my earlier post as I had mis-read the question. The question was regarding jurors and their financial need. I somehow thought it was about Travis' family. Now that I've explained myself I'll give the information again. This has been a tremendous financial strain on them.

There is a Facebook page with information as to where you can donate to help them with their financial need. Chris HUghes, a friend of the family helped set it up.

I enjoyed my Psych classes (social science elective requirements) and adored the Prof. The first semester was a large lecture - 100 students, IIRC - but the second class was much smaller and allowed for more discussion and interaction with instructor and classmates. I found the subject matter fascinating.
Awww... I'm sure there are excellent psych professors and the field is fascinating, I agree. I shouldn't generalize my disdain for Samuels' lack of integrity and rigor onto the entire field. My bad. Sorry about that.

Lucky me if I ever had to serve on a jury! I live across the street from the courthouse! And out my building back door is starbucks
:floorlaugh:

Good, when she is convicted, go over and have a strawberry frappuccino in honor of the fact she'll never have one again.
