I got up and cleaned for half an hour just so I could tell my husband I at least did something productive.

Hi all!

My strategy in the hubby dept. was to get him hooked on the trial which he is!

He gets home from work, plants himself on the couch (snacks are involved lol).

Say's "so whats been happening with JA today?" And proceeds to watch commenting all the way. One more thing, I got him to join WS so now he can't complain! But he gave up on that a long time ago:floorlaugh:

I get television at my house, have several laptops, the lake and nice take out! Interested?:please:

Samuels used the tests he used because they were more likely to give him the results that JA and the DT needed. More comprehensive tests, like the MMPI, would reveal a more accurate profile and that would be very, very bad for JA. I think in depth interviews (clinical rather than investigative) with JA's family members would have resulted in a similarly bad picture of her, so it was best just not to ask. Should he have accessed more sources of information? Sure, IF he was interested in a complete and valid assessment, but he wasn't interested in that. He is an "expert witness for the defense" and conducted his "evaluation" in a way that was sure to "reinforce" his hypothesis. I doubt he was the first expert the defense contacted - he's simply the only one they could find who was willing to "sell his soul" as others here have put it.
Did anybody else catch JA's answer on Samuels' test about whether she has nightmares about the "traumatic event"? Nope- if it weren't for all the noise in that darn jailhouse she'd be sleeping like a baby. Her affirmative responses to questions of "feeling distant or cut off from people around you" and feeling "emotionally numb" are as easily and more accurately attributable to her disordered personality than to PTSD.
I believe Travis was scared of JA. Remember his comment to his friends about "if I don't show up for dinner one Sunday" it'll be because of JA? Travis, just like the rest of us, could not imagine JA committing such brutality because it is so far from anything that anybody imagines. Even the stab wounds to his back, none of which would have been fatal according to the ME, were terribly vicious.
My last point is about the "why would she stab him when it would be so much easier to shoot him" and similar questions. There is nobody on Earth who can truly understand a person like JA. Her life is all about deceiving others and she herself doesn't understand her motives, other than the current one - doing whatever she has to do in order to save herself from the death penalty. This mantra has saved me a lot of turmoil: Stop trying to make sense out of irrational behavior.
Thanks to all of you for sharing your insights.

#1) After last night, and all the worry that must be on your mind, you deserve an easy day hanging out with like-minded peeps who love that huge heart of yours! :blowkiss:

#2) I won't be one of those like-minded peeps for a couple of hours. :( You see, told husband who just called I have done nada, zip, zilch today and he said 'Well the housework will still be there when she's convicted.' Yes, love him BUT dear daughter's, who is 13 going on 33 in her total 'Geez, Mom, you are such a moron' phase (it had better be a phase if she's going to survive to see 18!), laptop is in for repair and I'm expected to share my computer with her. :banghead:

LOL she will discover you brilliance about 25!! The first time my daughter said (under her breath) "you're right Mom!" I about fell over! After Mom you don't know what you are talking about! Of course not my knowledge ended about 13 years old and hers gained by 60 years compressed into 1 year. hahahahaha

As they say "This too shall pass" (and live to tell about it) :floorlaugh:

Sending prayers and positive thoughts to TA's family and loved ones today.

I can't imagine sitting in that courtroom day after day listening to this nonsense. I think every ounce of me would want to stand up and scream, "It's a LIE...that's NOT true!"

Ok, I just saw a couple of little clips from the new interrogation tapes.

WOW.

Minor where did you find them? I looked at Fox videos and HLn and they were the same as a few days ago. Please help.

Duh, I don't even have the seal....does it start at 10:30 est ?

  • #149
I wish one of the media outlets would get the complete interrogation tapes through a public information request and post them online.

It sounds as though they have the whole four hours. I guess they are just posting the more sensational snippets.

You're lucky. I wish! Mine wants nothing to do with it. :(

I have an hour to get groceries/put them away and get back before jury questions. Can I do it?

Of course you can! Just look at what can be done in say, 62 seconds!

Morning folks, just drawing up a chair to watch the jury hammer the good psychologist.

Reading on the last thread, I noticed a number of people who pointed me to the videos of Travis' friends who showed up on HLN for the first time last night. Obviously, they have been released from their subpoenas.

Based on the fact that Juan Martinez cut his CIC short, he may have decided to let the defense do their duty in presenting their self-defense. He already knew what their experts were going to say and he was super-prepared.

I believe he will mainly aim his rebuttal case at further deflating the psycho-babble and up-coming DV drivel.

IF he presents any friend of Travis to testify to Jodi's behavior, it will be the absolutely BEST one of all who can testify to as many of her behaviors as have been questioned.

He's not going to waste a moment of the jury's time. IMHO

Sorry - not to search this but which friends? TIA!

Juan stands a few rows in front of me and eyes the defense team as they chit chat in a huddle. #JodiArias

Collapse

Probably huddling up so Arias can down a few more sarcastic pills without people seeing.

Well, my whole morning has been screwed up and I'm not prepped for court at all. I'm all discombobulated.

I'm not married (yet!) but I'd much rather sit down with the husband and watch a trial like this than receive roses or go to the opera or whatever. I'm weird. I know, I know.

HLN is becoming such an obnoxious channel regarding this trial. I am sure at one time all the commentators whether they be attorneys, LE, etc had very successful careers. IMO, now they could all be on Jerry Springer. I think I am most disappointed with Vinnie (reminds me of a used car salesman) - "HLN after Dark" is like a REALLY bad infomercial and they are bad at best. Thank God, Mark Eiglarsh has not diminished himself a bit, in my eyes. His comments about Travis after watching his stand up routine on Dr. Drew was so touching to me~

My kids 35, 27 and 23 are just now beginning to understand that mom really doesn't ever want to say "I told you so."
