Actually, although we've only heard a little bit from Laviolette, I already like her better than Samuels for some reason. I mean, she comes across as kind of down to earth and honest. We'll see ....

Well, at least this witness is more likable...not necessarily more believable, just more likable.

This is the 2nd time she's mentioned she needed a job (2 different jobs), I wonder if this paid "expert" needed another job?

Willmott: "Good afternoon" like it's a teaparty.

Defense attorneys are always smarmy that way.

I have bad flashbacks to how the Casey Anthony jury reportedly thought Jose Baez was "nice" and Jeff Ashton was "mean" and that had some effect on how they viewed the information.

I mean seriously, are we in 4th grade? Who gives a rat's as* if the lawyers are nice or mean. Makes me crazy when I hear jurors comment on stuff like that.

JA is the abuser, she even abused her own mother. imo

She appears engaged with the jury. She doesn't seem dumb to me.

don't kill me, something about this lady I like. I hope I am not disappointed. I have a bit of a good feeling here.

Same, she was a pioneer and she treated both sides .. mind you most of this is violence towards women, when in reality this case is about female violence towards a man.

Not as an expert witness it is not understandable. And I respect the heck out of you Linda but just saying.

Lets me honest here. Any expert in domestic violence the bulk of experience is going to be on abusive men.

If she has had so much legit experience with actual battered women, the only way she would trivialize their experience for Little Miss PTSD would be due to some sort of bent dogma that assumes

1. All women who claim abuse were abused

2. Women don't lie about this sort of thing

3. All women are abused anyway

4. You would be amazed at how low she sets the bar for what constitutes abuse.

4. You know how men are.

Am I right from her testimony that she worked with battered women, and worked with men who were perpetrators but has done nothing with men who were victims of abusive women like, you know, Travis Alexander was?

The idea that Jodi Arias could be compared to a woman who suffered like Amber Cummings -- who did us all a favor by shooting her abusive, pedophilia-surfing, eventual molester, racist, Nazi memorabilia collecting, dirty bomb making clear-and-present-danger husband, plead guilty and got 8 years suspended and only got that because she plead guilty where no jury would have given her anything -- is sickening.

But it occurs to me that perhaps the defense based Jodi Arias' defense on the Cummings case, although they totally forgot the claim that Travis owned some of Hitler's silverware.

ALV will have a hard time dealing w/ JM on cross if he goes hard at her.....she seems stunned when he objects

blah blah blah..here we go- she is going to lump the killer into a group of real abused women..this is going to get a lot of women really angry out there. lets fast forward to Juan.

She's got her finger in a lot of pies, ergo a lot of pay checks.

I think the longing look is more about please jury believe this one. She looking at her to save her.

JA looked at LV with wide eyes- kinda like when you see a delicious banquet in front of you. She looked thrilled, IMO.

I don't know if I can handle it anymore....I'm actually falling asleep at the keyboard.

I agree that the gay comments are distasteful, but some of her testimony so far has sounded like she is somewhat biased against men -- at least in the domestic violence context.

That's exactly what I got from the one article of hers that I read.

I'm still hopeful that JM will be able to confront her with all the information that the defense never gave her, and she will change her assessment.

And based on her early experience and work experience ... That's understandable.

Seems like perhaps more recently included abusive woman... Lets see

Fair enough. I'll keep an open mind. There was just one comment early on from her that kind of made me cringe because it sounded like she only believes that women can be abuse victims - and I work closely with male domestic abuse victims, so I'm kind of biased myself.

Yes... And my gut tells me she would see through JA. She has extensive experience to draw from, I would think a lying woman would not pull the wool over her eyes. (I could literally walk to her office from my beach office) how weird...

I think this witness is coming across as quite likable so far. I have feeling I am going to regret that - hope she saw through Jodi's BS.

Snoopy and the Red Barron are playing jet tag over my house! If I go missing don't worry! This is putting me to sleep!

Sorry, but do you mean a plane buzzing back and forth over your house?

Mine too, for about a hour... seems to have stopped now. They're probably looking for some bad guy on the loose. I checked all my door locks. :what:

So how is this witness going to bring up the fact that Travis grew up in an abusive home when she never talked to him????

Also there has been no testimony to the fact except when the defendant tried to slip something in about it.

unfortunately prob the same way they got the pedo stuff in without evidence or witnesses :furious:
