Yesterday i got a call from my daughter in seattle. My granddaughter is on life support, were still waiting to hear more. She is only given 20% chance of survival.so I know what it feels like to be under duress for our loved ones. God bless you and keep you as you go thru your this.

I agree. As much as we may detest her, she has not yet been convicted and she does have rights. I would surely feel faint if I was forced to '"fast" for 13 hours a day, under the best of circumstances. The Maricopa County Jail should really make some arrangement to provide lunch to this defendant.

With all due respect...it is my understanding that ALL inmates are awakened at 2 or 3 a.m. when they have to appear in court. They are given their breakfast and are given dinner if they return on time.

This is the procedure for ALL MARICOPA COUNTY inmates...most have to live with it. What makes JA so special that concessions are made for her?

I'm so glad to be able to watch Juan M work. I would likely have never heard of him nor would many others. He's getting some much deserved appreciation for his dedication. He could easily make tons more money on the "dark" side.

KCL, PASA and others from here who give us the low down. What great people who I didn't know of before.

Travis's family who are obviously such loving and wonderful people putting their lives on hold to bear witness for their brother.

Jodi as a warning! My sons are only 14 but know all about this case and it's given us a great chance to talk about toxic people and relationships. I have to admit they have no interest in girls yet and this probably isn't helping which is fine with me!

Gender stereotypes: time to move on. Women can kill and men can be abused and playing the poor widdle girl victim shouldn't be allowed to work for cold blooded killers. I appreciate the feminists who made it possible for me to go to law school and get a job as a lawyer. But we need to hold all people responsible for their actions. Most people aren't evil but some are and they aren't all men. That doesn't mean there aren't real abuse victims who deserve leniency but that shouldn't be done if the "evidence" only consists of stories the perp tells after the killing.

Anyway, this trial is making everyone nuts. I am so ready for Rebuttal Juan!

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. My son's tumor is Malignant, we will be going to a pediatric hospital tomorrow.
I feel like I am still in shock, but I just wanted to check in and say I miss watching the trial with you all.

There is ZERO corroborating evidence that TA was a misogynistic, abusive, pedophile. We have only the testi-phoney of a confessed lying killer to establish the cockamamie fantasy.

Yet, that's what Judge Stephens has effectively allowed into evidence and stipulated as fact.

Since Jodi testified on her own behalf, I don't see how she couldn't have allowed it in, and basically hand the DT cause for getting a conviction overturned on appeal. This being her first DP, I'm sure she probably is being very cautious in that regard.

Not the judge's fault. Why take away from the jury's time off? They still have lives to live. This jury is not sequestered so there is no reason to work extended hours or weekends. They probably are relieved not to have to sit through ALV's testimony going over what DV is. Defense seems to want to ask the same question 20 different ways to try and get their point across. It will be a long weekend for everyone and I'm willing to bet the jurors will welcome it. jmo

Personally if I was a jury member I would rather work 5 days a week with a 9-5 court schedule to get this case put behind me. They had court 1 day yesterday and that wasn't even really anything to do with the case, just the witnesses CV, and short stories about other patients she treated. I would view that day as a waste. Then court cancelled today, and a half a day tomorrow... So a week down and only a day and a half of court. (A day if you want to take out the late starts, sidebars... etc) These jurors have been on this case since the start of 2013. They still have this witness for the D, then the states rebuttal case... More than enjoying ANOTHER long weekend, I would want to just keep on and get this thing over with. I'd be exhausted by now.

Is this normal? A case like this to last 4-5 months?

I know this will not be popular but I am glad they do not have court if she is in fact ill. Why?

Because she has to be able to participate in her defense. I don't think at this point she would fake it because this is where she gets to put her defense on that is her make it or break it points. She wants the jury to hear it. I think the issue is that she is not getting fed for long periods of time, at least that is according to Beth Karas. And I have no reason to doubt her.

If the trial goes ahead and she can not participate in her defense it could mean a reversal later. I want her healthy and strong so that this sticks. I want her to be able to understand and hear it when she is found guilty.

I want this over as much as the next guy, but I want her to get the fairest trial possible. No retakes.

ITA, except she has been on that same meal schedule for what - 5 years? I doubt that is the issue now. I do believe she sees her presentation of witnesses coming to an end, and judging by her, and Nurmi's, frequent check of the jurors' reactions, she is not feeling quite as confident as she was.

I don't wish a migraine on anyone, but I can imagine why she is now getting them.

She has 2600 calories of food provided to her a day. Peanut butter and bread plus three pieces of fruit come in addition to her breakfast. It's her lunch to eat whenever and she can take it with her because it will not spoil. I rarely eat lunch and I do not eat 2600 calories a day for sure and I do fine. She looks as if she is not eating at all. She also has access to snacks she can buy to bring with her. It's just Jodi being Jodi. Maybe she resents the fact that her attorneys eat lunch at a local café and don't bring anything back to put in her yellow folder (not that they could). Bet she is dying for a Starbucks. jmo

Hey, I just want this <mod snip> to get through this trial in the absence of any real "appealable issues". Feed her, water her, drug her, I don't care what they have to do to to insure that her rights are not violated...and that she is healthy enough to assist inher defense. Geez, she HAS NOT been convicted yet.

What I was looking at is just the case history. It gives a list of motions, etc. but the witness list isn't on there. I've never seen an actual witness list and wouldn't know where to get it. I just saw that JM submitted a supplemental list. That's the extent of what I know.

I think you are 1000% right. Esp with Wilmott making the comment that she did about JA taking her meds. Her 'What's this, what's this?" at Nurmi the second the jury was out of the room looked like she was getting ramped up.
I think the DT has a time of it on their hands. I don't think it's a migraine. It's her coming undone without swallowing her little friends....
