Yeah, I thought they were seriously unfair with him today. He started out very calm with her today and she got testy with him RIGHT away. That's when the gloves came off. And she just would not answer a question. The only reason the Snow White questioning got off track was she wouldn't answer honestly. I thought it was brilliant.

I think that was because the DT was not expecting that line of questioning, it took them and ALV totaly off guard and she had not been rehearsed on that. jmo

Can you imagine how frustrated TA had to have been with all the stuff JA had done and was doing to him? I applaud him for not clockin her proper. I do believe he banged his head against the doorway....who the heck wouldn't? I bet she drove him bat stick crazy. And yet, he never put a hand on her. We know he didn't. And that tells you what kind of man he was (is). He had a healthy sex drive and overactive hormones. He won the bedroom lottery...so what? I don't think he ever imagined she was this evil, even in that rant to her. He saw a glimpse but he never imagined how truly evil she is.

And he was a GROWN man who could have ended it, sex is not an excuse to continue with someone, especially one you think is crazy. He was raised in a horrible environment (in his younger years) per what has been said and most people raised in that type of environment tend to became hypervigilant to their surroundings and the people in their live. So based on his past live, per what has been said, I feel he would have been more in tune to crazy individuals. Not a good idea to use sex as an excuse when dealing with unsafe individuals...JMO

And she forgot the porcelain angel that Travis gave her for helping him put boxes in his attic.

Always something to return for. No matter day or night,

Haven't heard that story, but I'd guess that one of those boxes is missing a porcelain angel.

I think it is interesting that for 8 days we listened to ALV rattle on about JA and all her behaviours that led to her being in an abusive relantionship. Then it comes to the murder of JA and she spends 10 minutes and for all intents and purposes she just repeats JA's story.

Now what I wonder is why didn't JW have her testify about what happened after the murder of TA. What about her going to the home of another man and taking part in another sexual encounter with an actual total stranger.

Why didn't she have an opinion on that. Is that part of an abused woman's behaviour? Or a Black Widow? jmo

Indeed, we should all ask the same questions. I guess I can't say I'm surprised, but I was stunned that they whizzed over that whole "Travis getting killed thing," like some kind of UFO on its way out of the atmosphere. Who the heck do they think they're kidding?

I like him but his nose looks like a ....well....you know what it looks like. And I can't seem to get past that when he starts talking. He's all blah blah blah blah and I'm all wow, I have no idea what he's saying because his nose looks like a p****.

I know. I have horrible thoughts. :slap:

P**** = Proboscis

wasn't the lady that laughed really loud the one who walked out with her arm around alyce? she could be her partner. or a good friend. but i would want to support my partner by being in court with them while they were on the stand so i'm thinking it's probably her.

i don't think you are making a deal of her sexual preference, i see what you did there.

He's not on trial.

My. Have you forgotten the "singing contest" already? We'd all pay good money to have Juan ask Simon to describe the defendant's singing ability. ;)

I'm glad that you're giving voice to an unpopular opinion. I agree with you that the text messages, emails, etc. show evidence of emotional and verbal abuse toward Jodi. Even if Travis had a good reason to be angry with her, he was very ready and able to be cruel. His words dehumanized her more than they expressed his own feelings of betrayal, pain, and anger. The words he wrote were meant to not only to reject her--which was his right--but to annihilate her completely.

Why is this so hard to accept, even with the proof in black and white? Why do people seem to think that acknowledging the truth of Travis' emotional violence automatically means excusing Jodi's exteme violence? It doesn't and it won't. She killed a man, and it doesn't look at all like she did it in self defense. But, if Jodi is a sick woman who got sicker because of this relationship, this is something that has to be heard. The truth still matters. Hatred for the liar, the killer, however natural that may be, can't negate the evidence. And, yes, even the fact that she did the worst thing possible can't negate the evidence. It is a deliberate act of intellectual dishonesty to allow hatred to blot out facts.

Take Jodi out of the equation, and what we're left with here is a lot of people saying that the only "real" abuse there is is the kind that leaves physical marks; the rest, though equally damaging, is being minimized or denied. People say that Jodi herself is insulting victims of intimate partner violence, but I see the insult happening right here, on these boards.

Great Post!

There's another case of long-distance domestic violence that culminated in murder too. Venus Stewart was doing everything 'right'. She'd left her abuser, moved home to her parents, filed for divorce, got a restraining order, had the police reports, and was insistent to be careful with contact.

Her husband traveled across several states after she'd left to murder her. Her body still has yet to be located and her daughters are being raised by her parents. :( He, however, was convicted of her murder.

It kind of puts into perspective the 'norm' for abusers to escalate violence when their victims leave, even when there's a great geographical distance.

I think her operation was on the other side and higher up, KWIM? :what: But you're right, she needs a tuneup there too. One side's a bit, uhm, deflated. ;)

You're just booty-callin' it the way you see it...

Huh. Well I guess if you had a murdered loved one and you wanted a better court experience for yourself (since you don't like Juan Martinez' style), you would feel better with someone else.

If I had a murdered loved one, I would get on my knees every night thanking God that I had someone like Juan Martinez as my prosecutor. Why? He gets convictions. He doesn't deal with defense pleas for a lesser charge. He knows the ins and outs of the case--intimately. I would want the animal who murdered my loved one to get the harshest sentence. And I would be grateful for the caring way he treats the victim's family. But that's just me.

MOO

I would pray to have Juan Martinez fighting for my loved ones rights...and for justice for them..jmo

I would seriously pay money. I mean it. I will fly to wherever necessary and pay whatever fee to see that moment. I'll buy everyone present dinner. I'll be able to afford it because I'll borrow money from Jodi. She's loaded, you know.

This makes me ill. I reiterate that these bumpkins that think they're at the county fair need to be removed from the courtroom...permanently. I think they are purposely trying to be disruptive to the State's case, and I don't understand why there aren't court officials addressing it.

Someone needs to point out all of the ridiculous things going on in this courtroom to the people that should be looking after such things. Seriously, passing notes, coaching witnesses from the sidelines, mitigation specialist courting the defendant in full view of the jury, former felon turned BFF of the defendant derailing this trial, and defense attorneys being openly HOSTILE with the prosecution (pizzy would be a better word), AND lord love us....the endless rounds of "may we approach".

I'm starting to think this trial won't be over before the 4th of July. Or if Nurmi gets back up there.....maybe Labor Day.

Again, I don't think the Judge has a clue that a whole chunk of the USA is watching this case. And no, that shouldn't count for much except it is she that has allowed this trial to morph into this never ending witness after witness mess. God help her if it dissolves into one big quagmire...ain't no one gonna be happy 'bout that.
