He's a strong, forceful talker. He keeps the courtroom awake with his bellowtones. You can tell ALV doesn't like men to assert themselves.

That's probably why she's in the profession she's in. I want him to ask her how many battered men she's run across, and I think it's very few because she'd probably have diagnosed them as not so--even though they were.

Hell, she can't even figure out that Travis was one.

I knew ALV and JM would clash, but I can't believe he's not objecting to her responses. Well, I have to admit I have 20 minutes more to watch, so I don't know if he objects. So far, he hasn't.

I personally love how he takes the defense experts off their pretty perch of diagnostics and suppositions to show them that they are really only standing on a narrow ledge called FACTS.

I also think he blew JW's "memory problem" prank out of the water by immediately proving ALV DOES have memory problems. And I hope he doesn't let ALV refer to any notes question by question like JW did because it's obvious that without the notes, ALV doesn't even know what she's talking about.

I hope you caught the testimony today when Juan objected to ALV reading from her notes. JW responded by saying ALV was not reading from her notes. The Judge replied "I just looked at her and she WAS reading from her notes"

LOL.

<modsnip>

All defendants should have capable and skilled attorneys who oversee their cases and protect their interest. It is the choice of the defendant in this case--and her defense team--to create a false narrative and pay off "experts" to testify to the credence of that narrative. At least one member of this defense team doesn't even like the client he's stuck with, so I really have no animosity toward him in that he's stuck defending her. I guess if I don't like the defense, it's because they had a half-dozen different choices for strategy, yet they chose the one that revictimized the victim all over again.

Are you talking about Nurmi?

Did you see this from today? He looks rather friendly towards the killer...:twocents:

I still cannot get how stabbing, neck-slashing, and gunshot = self-defense. Just can't get there.

Guess what?

If it looks like premeditation, and quacks like premeditation, it's not self-defense.

You're right! I just find I really have a soft spot for ole "Tri-color" and I hate seeing her publicly vilified for doing nothing wrong. I feel like she's just another victim of Jodi and her minions. I also hope she made Jodi and her groupies crazy! I can be petty like that!

She didn't follow the judge's instructions and was removed from the jury for her misconduct!

I wish to thank those who do believe a man can be physically and emotionally abused by a woman. My nephew was a virgin just out of high school and got into a relationship with a gal that I believe has some type of personality disorder or mental illness. I see alot of the same traits in her as JA has. It's strange now that I look back and remember she would never look us in the eye. My Father even mentioned she has no personality. She was still in school (a senior) and her folks seemed so glad to get her married off and out of the house. She would call him every 5 minutes when he came to our house to visit. She spied on him and stalked his facebook. It was just the most bizarre thing I have ever seen. She planned the wedding all in 2 weeks time and had it on the same evening as prom night. Needless to say she was mad as he!! when her friends went to prom.

He was raised to never hit a woman.....which I am now wondering why that is such a good idea? She kicked him and knocked him down a flight of stairs resulting in a trip to the ER. (He told us he fell.) Another time he went home to his Mom's upset and had scatches all over him. Thank God his Mom took pictures and had them when the nutjob called the police and said he had abused her. My nephew hid all this from us. He was ashamed.

The good thing is that now they are separated after a 6 week marriage. The bad news is that they have a baby together and we never get to see the child and we all worry. I know she's on meds and has had to do counseling at different points the last couple of years but I am clueless as to what is wrong with her.

This is what drew me to this case and I pray there is justice for Travis and his family. Please stop blaming the victim because he is a GUY. :please:

yes, because it makes me nervous when he wants to take her down a path on the stand and she ain't buyin it. Then he tries again, she acts like she doesn't know what he's talking about.

This is throwing off his momentum. He should have a Plan B and just bait and switch, ditch that line and run with another, bam bam bam.. but move on if she wont take the bait. The jury gets the idea by virtue of his asking.

I know he knows what he wants to do and knows so much more than we think! I just like it to come out in a steady stream.

She was not going for the Snow White thing and I fully admit when she smirked and said "that was JUST a catchy name" she had me going.

That's a lie, that Snow White gal is a running theme with her when I googled it...

It's deceptive things like that she does on the stand that have me fully convinced not to feel sorry for her, she can more than handle herself.

Snow White is NOT just a catchy name to her.

BBM

And that is exactly why he opens his cross with these surprise throwaway' topics. He picks 'off the wall' things to attack them with, as a way to flesh out their defense mechanisms. But he does not want to waste important issues on this 'experiment.' He opens with issues that do not matter to the case.

Then he can go at them aggressively and see how they respond. He did that beautifully this afternoon. He got to see her snappy comebacks and her snarky grin, so now he is ready for it. Also he is ready for her 'playing dumb' tactics.

" I just don't understand " is part of her defense ploy. So he will have a way to combat that when he returns Monday. And this time he will be addressing the meat and potatoes, not just his surprise opening remarks.

He is also going to have the 'missing' portions of many of those texts and IM's. And that should be interesting.

ETA: He got her to prematurely use her " are you mad at me Mr Martinez?" question.

She should have saved that for the fray. LOL

I heard that of course.

But I'm referring to when he objects to the witnesses' answers to his own questions. We have seen him object to this before, and I feel he should be objecting to the way ALV answers his questions. That's what I mean.

We don't really know what happened with Juror #5.

she's a free citizen, not a criminal and has every right to go anywhere the general public can. I really don't get this hatred for this poor woman who was seemingly a diligent juror who was likely targeted by the defense for just that reason. Give the chick a break. She hasn't done anything wrong. The only criminal is Jodi. If this woman wanted money she would have been on every morning show the first day.

It's not a matter of her rights. It's a matter of what's right. She just got kicked out of a death penalty trial, missing a mistrial by who knows how much, and is now jeopardizing another mistrial cause. For what? So she can be in the same room again? If she wants to watch, there are other options. She doesn't have to be there in person.

She released a very sanctimonious statement about this being about the trial be more important and wanting privacy. Yet, now she's making it about herself by showing up there. Just because she was against JA, doesn't mean everything she does is golden.

I just have to say how the witness today (ALV) had her shoulders all tightened up and then let them go...While on cross. She is very uptight. (And Juan is just getting started).

  • #1,112
Why would someone of her so-called stature need a "Catchy" theme for something so serious? ALV used the term "catchy" at least two times today. Who was she trying to "catch" or "attract" ?

She really creeped me out with that
and lost even more cred

She shares some similarites with Miss Jodi...
thinks she's smarter than Juan LOL
Thinks Juans tone is abusive LOL
Her fog is rolling in...

I'm befuddled with the snow white thing.

I was hoping he'd use it to show Travis was really the one abused.

I'm confused as to why would she use this "catchy title" if none of it is in the content of the presentation?

I'm with JM. Why is ALV comparing a "child" to a woman with this snow white presentation?

She fought JM tooth and nail today as if she had seen him question other witnesses. I don't understand why she didn't just answer the questions. A lot of the ones ALV had a problem with were actually straight forward. I hope the judge cuts out all her commentating and sidetalk with "Mr. Martinez," Or that he starts to object to her trying to control her testimony.

My point went right over your brow.

MY POINT is that there is not one iota of evidence that Travis was offensively abusive to Jodi. NOT ONE IOTA. No broken bones, no photos, nothing but a few messages that he sent when he was trying to RID HIMSELF of Jodi--and that would be in defense of himself after dealing with Jodi's insanity, stalking, obsessive behavior.

I think you're confused on which person in this story is the abused and which is the abuser.

I do understand your point, except you forgot the evidence of thousands of words in the form of texts, emails, audios, etc that were introduced and explained by the expert as domestic violence. She also explained why she thought that they were. It wasn't a few messages. It was hundreds of interactions over the entire 18 months. She was on the stand for 7 days.

The expert is looking for patterns of behavior that increase in intensity and frequency.

We heard him talking to her on that sex tape 3 weeks before June 4th. Did that sound like someone who was trying to get rid of her, being stalked, trying to get her out of his life? No, it didn't.

Something happened towards the end of May that made him very angry at her and maybe even fear her. But, I still don't know what that is.

IMO

She's looking for offers, checking with her "legal advisors" as she phrased it.

I predict that she'll be :singing: soon, for the right :goldcrown:.

Who cares? As long as its after the trial.

Excellent post. Though we don't know exactly what went down, she was removed from the jury by Judge whatshername. I think she being there today was more about her than about the trial. Like someone saying "Na Na Na Na, you can't take meeees toys awaaaay". Mind you, I might have this all wrong, but in her shoes, I would have stayed home and out of the limelight.

Smelly Squirrel: I agree with you - but I don't know the laws in AZ. I didn't hear her statement but evidently, the Judge cannot keep her out of the court room. I haven't heard yet what the rules are in order to be part of the Gallery. Maybe I should consult with someone in the other thread? I told my husband this evening that #5 looks like she is stalking the jurors and giving an evil eye to the HLN chick that got her kicked off the jury. What's her name?
