Today, Martinez, in regards to the restaurant incidents he stated something about Mesa being pretty big, etc. However, I thought previously regarding the reason that Jodi went outside of Mesa to rent a car he hinted that was Mesa was fairly small and too many would people would recognize her. I saw Jodi react when he said this today. Did he contradict himself? I hope that I am wrong. :please:

No, she lived in Yreka (small city) at the time she rented the car from Redding to drive to Mesa to murder Travis.

No, he said Phoenix, AZ was big.

Jodi didn't want to rent a car in tiny Yreka, CA where she might be recognized.

She only reacted because someone DARED to question her veracity. :liar::liar::liar::liar:

Mesa Az is pretty big, I used to live there. Yreka Ca, where Jodi lived at the time of the murder is pretty small, which is why she drove to the other town to rent the car to drive to Mesa

@WildAboutTrial

#JodiArias and Nurmi seem to be having a grand time as they chat and wait for court to resume.

----

There's frequently comments on here that Nurmi doesn't like JA because he angles away from her. Tweets like the above make me more sure it's just his build and stomach that make it hard for him to sit up in that chair. He needs a bigger chair. He also stands very close to her at the end of the day.

Court reporter just took his machine into chambers. I imagine the attorneys will follow along soon. #JodiArias

OMG court reporter and machine headed to chambers, FFS Nurmi give it a rest!

I'm beginning to think that much of the time that ALV spent with the defendant was in preparing Jodi how to testify as a victim of DV. The waifish appearance, the soft voice, the cagey responses, etc. mirrors what we're now seeing/hearing with this expert testimony.

This was on the other thread....so I thought I'd bring it here...interesting

michaelbkiefer Kirk Nurmi filed another motion for mistrial based on prosecutorial misconduct this morning. I assume that was the in-chambers topic.

michaelbkiefer In his motion, Nurmi references Martinez' attacking witnesses, signing autographs; compares the trial to a circus and the Salem Witch Trials

It is a circus, it is not a witch trial, unless he is characterizing his own defendant as a witch, so sorry - mistrial denied.

This is a mess.

ALV is playing the role of 'Vinnie Barbarino' from "Welcome Back Kotter"

"What? Where? What? Duh. Ummm. I don't understand."

I hate to admit it but JM is not getting traction on his x-exam.

I think he has gotten a lot done already. Even though the witness is stubborn and resistant And JW is like non-stop objecting---with all that, Juan is still doing a lot of damage to this witness, imo.

She made a HUGE deal out of basing her assessments on CONTEXT. She looked at the big picture to make her analysis.

So Juan then made her admit that she had a very limited source of data and background info. She did not really know the backstory of the 18 pg tirade that she testified about last week. Just now, Juan revealed to her the Applebees incident, which shows that she was probably lying about Ruby Tuesdays.

That makes her entire testimony on that tirade last week kind of suspect. She now admits that she did not have all of the facts.

Then she tells this jury that according to her expert opinion, she sees no pattern of lying in the defendants behavior. :what:

I think the jury is going to have some doubts about her veracity. Let alone her constant weak statements about not knowing what he is talking about, and not knowing anything about computers, or email, even tho she is supposedly being an expert evaluating these thousands of computer generated communications...

You cannot tell me, and if you try to I won't believe it, that in those 44 hours, LV never caught Jodi in a lie, not once! She's good at lying, but she always ends up tripping herself up. I can't believe that LV got NO inkling that she was being lied to.

She wasn't getting paid to check the lies. She was paid for a DV evaluation. And the more likely she deemed the DV, the more likely she would get the big bucks. In my opinion of course.

I find it interesting that the strong feminist tries to play dumb blonde stereotype when she is in a bind.

The car rental was in Yreka, which is in fact pretty small - give or take about 8,000.
