Oh, but don't forget. He threw a pen. :giggle: :giggle:
Yea, don't forget the pen.
Well, people- time to get to bed. It's been a pleasure. See you tomorrow for another Juandaful day.:seeya:

Just read KNs Motion for Mistrial regarding JM and misconduct. Laughable. He must forget the comments he's made about JM. Seems to me that the Defense realizes how badly things are going, thanks mainly to the Juror's questions, and they're grasping at straws. I can't wait to hear the Juror's questions for ALV!

Willmot definetely ..did try to give a signal with her hair. It was so obvious?
I have a question, I hope it doesn't get lost in the shuffle, this thread moves so fast...
One thing that Martinez brought up was Arias' self image was within a "normal" range. Laviolette kept correcting him by saying "the test was given two years after the fact" she said this a few times, to me implying that Arias could HAVE suffered from low self esteem when with Travis, but has since recovered.
Is it just me, but if someone is a victim of DV... do they really recover that quickly??? I assume that low self esteem goes hand in hand with someone who stays in a violent relationship, but it seems like two years is a quick recovery for something so traumatic in regards to self image. I know YMMV with people, but that just struck me as odd, or am I overthinking it?
But Jodie doesn't seem to be worried that her ship is sinking! She's acting smug, smirky and the glaring is annoying. I think she's a bully, I believe she has always stared people down (women)
I think TA had fear of Jodi but just did not listen to it. I think he felt safe in his home and thought he could handle it. I know I was in a 14 year marriage with the male version of JA. The last night I spent in the home with him, he asked me to go for a ride in the car to talk about our issues. Everything in me told me to not get in the car with him. I have no doubt he was planning something. I have no doubt if I had got in that car I would not have returned alive. Although I was still in such a horrible place with him I did still stay in the home that last night. I think the only reason he did not do anything is because my son was home and he did not think I would leave the next day. I know I am stupid for staying but I did at least list to my gut about getting in the car. I know that now but at the time I felt I was safe in my home. I did leave the next day and never returned. Some people just don't listen to their gut instinct enough. My X well..............he is now in prison.

There was another time today when JM was asking ALV a question and she looks at JW. JW shakes her head 'no' and ALV immediatley answers the question 'no'. That to me was much more noticeable than the hair thing.
I wane to preface by saying I am 110% pro prosecution... But I am soo mad at Juan Martinez. Why does he need to badger LAViolette .. He is being way too arrogant .. He's coming off diminutive, angry and feels the need to constantly belittle. Ughghg. If I'm feeling bad for her I just sure hope the jury isn't either. He didn't need to address this witness the same way he addressed arias or Samuels. I just don't want his terrible cross exam to sway the jury away from 1st degree. This is a horrible cross exam. Why can't he soften his tone? Does he not get how his points are being lost within hisfights? I love Martinez, I admire his work and dedication to this case. I just don't like that he's being counterproductive. If it's just me please tell me. I hope it is. Please we can't lose this one. My humble oo!
IMO I don't think they had sex on the day he was killed. I think Jodi made it up. The nude photos of Travis on the bed don't appear as if he was "that into her" if you know what I mean. And the naked photos of Jodi could have been taken by Jodi herself with the camera set on timer. The photos on the bed show the comforter still on the bed. If they had sex, wouldn't the comforter have been taken off the bed?
I think Travis was under some kind of duress the whole time Jodi was there before she killed him. I don't know what she did....but the bed photos were forced as were the shower photos.....all MOO![]()
It sure appears so.
Any attys here now?
Is that illegal, unethical or what?
Maybe JM is actually training the witness through these non-verbal head shakes.
He finally can get her to answer. :truce:
I have had similar concerns about his approach with this witness. I don't think you're overreacting or coming out of left field.
But, I do not believe his aggressive approach with this witness will cost him the trial. Not by a long shot. The case against jodi arias is too strong, IMO. In other words, even if the jury dislikes his style of questioning in relation to this witness, i don;t believe it would cause them to disregard the case he has made against the defendant or the terrific dismantling of their witnesses.
And speaking of such, watching this cross (as I am right now), I can see how he has completely put this witness on the defensive, so much so that instead of just answering the questions and letting Ms. Wilmott clear any issues up on re-direct, she must try to anticipate and guess the hidden meaning behind each question and not allow him to make the point she thinks he's trying to. And her refusal to answer his questions in a straight forward manner, as she contorts to try to prevent him from scoring any point, no matter how small, makes her lose all credibility.
So while I have had deep concerns about his style with this defendant, in the end, I think he is achieving the objective he wanted.
Did anyone else hear that the DT is trying to preclude evidence regarding the weight limit of the shelves in anticipation of it coming up in the rebuttal? Is there any way JM could find out the exact make/model of the shelves? I was thinking that they must still be in the home and, in that case, they could be used as evidence.
In what defense expert witness textbook does it say you should be snarky & combative toward the prosecutor? If you did your job, the facts should stand for themselves & withstand attempts to discredit by the DA. Unless you fudged a few things on your CV to start with...
Thought I read here a few days ago that it applied to arizona.
