ALV discussed approach taken in the audio tape provided to DeMarte.

ALV's approach was interview JA and look at records.

What is your opinion as to validity of ALV's approach.

JD there is a big piece of data missing such as test results.

JA can't look at this witness or pay attention, because she knows DeMarte, has her number!! JA could not manipulate her. So JA is acting like, this woman doesn't know what she is talking about and I couldn't manipulate her so I will ignore her.

The defense could not find experts that would take the case. They tried many..

can't say I'm shocked. I would imagine all of the ones who were credible bowed out fast. Looks like the only ones they could find are seemingly completely incompetent. I just hope they can't appeal based on that..

I dunno about Dr. DeMarte. She's smart and appears to be very prepared, which is a refreshing change, BUT there's no getting around the fact that she's relatively young and may not come off as "wise and worldy" enough to the jury. I was very surprised that she hadn't heard of Your Erroneous Zones. It's old and outdated, but it's a major grand-daddy of self-help books. Maybe it just shows how old I am ;(.

I understand what you're saying, but remember that ALV hasn't had any continuing education. She received her degree many years ago and hasn't updated what she learned way back when. Dr. D's education is much more recent and up-to-date, and she has also done a lot of clinical studies to further enhance her knowledge.

I find it interesting that JA won't even look at this witness......almost as if she isn't there. She has on no glasses and seems to be acting like she is taking a final exam.

yes, she is really concentrating on whatever she is writing. JA usually slaps on the glasses for the jury but now doesnt bother. Are they for distance?

Perhaps if the defendant prefers to color she can remain at the jail. She can eat on time, nap, and rest while the State of AZ continues her trial.

they used ALV for a reason----she can't test. she's not qualified to test.

and they didn't ask RS to do any testing on DV cuz there WAS no DV.

If they had ALV's hearing yesterday, I am curious why she is in courtroom today. You would think that is the last place she would want to be.

DT has to know that this is an impeccable witness. She comes off as smart and unbiased and clinical.

They should just let her go, objecting makes it seem more like she is right!
