If Jodi had gotten to Mexico or Canada, it would have saved her from DP being an option. Maybe that was her ultimate reason for trying to flee. They do not extradite with DP on the table.

I noticed that too, thought I was seeing things.
You are bound to see strange goings-on at the defense table at any given time!

Meanwhile, as LE surveilled the house of JA's grandparents who shows up but the mother. And where did LE find .25 ammunition? At the mother's house.

IMO the mother was an enabler to an out of control, lying, psychopath who would have helped her escape the arms of LE if she could. As well, if the mother was so concerned with the behaviour of a young JA, she should have sought treatment for her. The father on the other hand - I'm not sure about. It looks like he just went along with the mother's dictates.

I don't feel sorry for JA's mother at all. Why did she have .25 ammo in HER house when she had no .25 gun? What was she doing at the grandmothers house - helping JA pack to escape to Mexico or some other country?

I agree with everything you just said. (Hey, would I argue with a fellow East-coaster? LOL!) I guess it is just a Mom thing, but I think it would be soooo humiliating to have your child tell you repeatedly that you were 'less than' and should better yourself. Especially since I can imagine that smug smirk on JA's face as she said it. :(

What's the point of an exchange program that lasts a couple weeks? Seems odd to me. Exchange programs for a year, yes. For a semester, okay. But 2 weeks. Puh-leeze. What's the point??????

My daughters who teach public high school have chaperoned on two-week summer trips abroad with their foreign language students who are juniors and seniors in good academic standing.

They stay in hotels, not with host families, and the cost to parents is about $3000.

Students are supervised at all times. Anyone who breaks the rules (e.g., drinking alcohol, sneaking out of their room, etc,) is either flown back home early on their parents' nickel or confined to quarters.

There is no opportunity to go on dates with local teens.

If the defendant went to Costa Rica on a two-week cultural exchange, I very seriously doubt that she would be permitted to hang out with a local boy.

She'd have to be very sneaky.

We know that she is capable of being very sneaky and doing things without permission.

So she either lied about going to Costa Rica or she snuck around the rules.

Good Morning!

Spring has sprung and it's official I have the first cold of spring !

Any techie people here?

Yesterday listening to the Detective that did the forensic's on Travis's computer, he made mention of the last time the computer had any activity was at 16hundred hours, which was 4 pm. Does anyone have that on video?

Reason I am bringing this up. I play games sometimes, and this game I use to play, you had to grow things at night and grow things during the day, and instead of waiting, we would just change the time, so If I needed pm, I'd change it to pm, and then change it back when I was done.

Would there be a trail of someone doing this, changing the computer clock?

Yes, you could set the clock either through the operating system or in BIOS setup, but there would be a record of the change. In addition, times registered on all computer activity would abruptly change, so it would be obvious that either a system error had occurred or someone had physically reset the clock even if there weren't a record of that activity, which there would be.

Somehow I think the surface is just getting scratched to all the vile, evil things Jodi did. Or else, the defense wouldn't keep filing motion after motion to keep things out...that's just the things Juan and Det. Flores has figured out.

Someone posted the video highlights of JM confronting Jodi about the lie that she returned the gas can to the Salinas Walmart and proof that she filled the rental car and three gas cans in SLC. This occurred during the "cold sore" phase of Jodi's testimony and I swear it looked like it got bigger as Juan's continued his cross!

OMG, I looked up at the TV and AJ Clemente (the guy who was fired this week by a North Dakota TV station for cursing during his first on air appearance) is sporting a HUGE COLD SORE on his upper lip. Stress induced NO DOUBT.

Yes and he made a point of asking Jodi if she remembered being sworn in? Did she remember taking the oath, over there to the left of Judge Stephens, saying she would tell this jury the truth in this courtroom.
Then he proved she lied on the witness stand, to her jury, in that courtroom

Jurors will be at court at 1:30 but Valerie told us yesterday to show up at 11:00 for media so most likely a televised hearing.

snipped from post by kayice~"combined with that picture of young Travis (cartoon underpants) and his Dad"

I think they were spiderman undies....if the jury hears about, or better yet is shown this picture of Travis and his Dad, JA will get the DP without question

She isn't a young girl at thirty something but yes she likely isn't often in a courtroom much less testifying in a televised trial. It was wrong IMO for Nurmi to go through his Travis bashing routine for the hundredth time with her. It is telling that in over 82,000 recorded exchanged between Travis and Jodi, Nurmi had a handful of insulting names Travis used in about 3 exchanges!

I'm sorry, I thought you were discussing why the Walmart lady got SKU wrong, I was saying she was likely a little nervous. I know one thing this trial has changed my life about what I memorialize in texts or emails!!!

Good Morning, Sleuthers! I can smell something burning this morning. Must be pencil shavings and what's left of the defense team's credibility! :seeya:

Thanks so much for answering! I know I just clicked on the time, in my lower right and changed it and then changed it back. I didn't know if there would be a record of it :-)

About her coloring her eyebrows with the pencil, I saw that, too, and I looked closely because I'd read it here before I saw it (thanks to HLN delay), it was just as Juan was standing up to do redirect, but I can't remember which witness. However, she was scratching her eyelashes with her left hand under her glasses and the pencil was in her hands, it just looked like the pencil was moving around her eyebrows, but it wasn't. A second later she scratched the eyelashes on her right eye. If anybody was interested in seeing it again, maybe find the OP and see what time it was made to see which witness it was, but I do remember it was just as Juan got up to do redirect.

She straight faced looked at the jury and lied and that fact has now been proven beyond all doubt. Any normal human being would be ticked with someone looking at them straight away and telling a pitiful lie such as that. This jury now knows without doubt that her performance while on the stand was an exceptional display of falsehood.

Morning all,
I wonder if jm will revisit the closet lie any further during rebuttal?

Masterful as always!

Now how am I supposed to post a flag when you don't say which province? :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Not sure why it would be humiliating, I guess I look at it differently. If one of my children had said something like that to me, they wouldn't have said it a second time.

See IMO JA's mother let JA get away with everything, even disrespecting her. What mother allows a teenager to disrespect her like that? I don't understand that at all. ???

I woke up with a big fat cold sore this morning...my first thought was "Damn I look like Jodi Arias"!!!

Stay away from sharp objects for a couple of days.
