Lol, hypothetically speaking, I had to think about that and find it difficult to answer as I honestly don't know. But this isn't anywhere near the same thing...if a man had been charged with the deliberate and intentional killing of my child, I know with absolute certainty and say with confidence, I would not accept a cent of his. But maybe that's just me!
I agree that I personally wouldn't want his money but I think
would probably take it and use it to set up a charitable foundation in memory of my loved one .
Rather a charity have it than a let a murderer keep it .
What ever Reeva's parents choose to do is fine because they have the right to do as they please :-)

O: I checked the curtains, that she wasn't behind them. I made my way back to the bathroom...tried to grab hold of the handle and tried to push it open. It was locked.....went to the balcony then and screamed help, help help.

But the door was opening to the outside?????

From the first half of testimony that I've seen so far, his explanation of the night felt very odd and disconnected to me.

For two young people just getting in to the prime of their relationship, on the eve of Valentine's Day when your lover has just brought you a sweet gift... he seemed distant in the way he described their interaction.

Other than being at the dinner table for 45 min or so and laying in bed while Reeva played on her iPad and Oscar was falling asleep around 9pm or 10pm, there seemed to be very little interaction between them that night. At least that's how he described it. In my opinion, he is leaving out vast chunks of what they really did.

Also, I noticed he did not explain what Reeva was consoling him about earlier in the day. I may have missed that bit, but don't recall anything about that.
Agree with the above . I also thought her alleged sleeping attire was not that of a young woman early on in a relationship on the eve of Valentines day

Did he actually say Reeva was on her iPad because I was trying to establish that last week ?. I would have thought she would have had some sort of computer or tablet with her apart from her iPhone but couldn't establish that for myself .

I also found that interesting!! Just pictured roux with his cup of tea every night going through the days proceeding on WS hehe :D

I wonder what he'll think when he sees our kiss-kiss-fest from last night... lol

I am wondering - Is it possible for Nel not to get a chance to cross examine Oscar? :(
I imagine Roux finishing with Oscar at the end of the week, Nel starting cross examination Monday morning and at the first big challenge Oscar breaking down and being unable to return to the stand. Roux will describe his break down and that he now needs medical care. The trial goes on without Oscar testifying further and Roux in closing asks/pleads that Milady not penalise Oscar for his inability to continue testifying. Please consider that he recounted his entire memory of the event and that he then became medically unfit to remain on the stand. Roux might give a big sob story about a ruined and broken, heartbroken man who needs care and medical help not jail and further punishment.

I doubt that.

I posted upthread he would do this. He is so predictable. From what some of the witnesses have said there was screaming before the shots too, unless I am hallucinating. He would definitely have heard those.

He has always been in the position where someone has solved all his problems for him. This time he is on his own and he is finding it very hard or is a good actor.

Forget about Ryan Gosling! OP would certainly be able to present himself as an actor.

Does anyone know whether or not the judge in this case will be required to provide a reasoning for her verdict?

They were under the bathroom window. To the best of my knowledge it would be poor taste to hang your laundry over a balcony rail in an upmarket security complex.
I just checked a picture taken by police and the jeans are not under the bathroom window, besides the fact I can see there is more grass than tiles and those jeans looked to me like they were laying on tiles and steps.

She will. Her opinion has to go through all of the evidence and explain what she accepts and rejects

I can see it both ways. For example, if it was a relatively wealthy man, would you want him to be able to keep his wealth? Just put it in a bank, ready for his use and continuance of comfortable lifestyle as soon as he gets out? Despite this intentional act (what they think) of killing your daughter?

Or would you feel that it would be another type of punishment for him, a punishment the criminal system alone cannot give him?

And it could be that they will take that money and put it all in some kind of charity or some kind of organization that will bring some good out of all of this.

JMO.

Yes and read out in court.

Carol, the jeans are just below the toilet room window, which is right next to the bathroom window. They are on top of the bricks that line the house.

Look at the pic with the dog... there is a brown box-like thing just behind him. Now look at the close up of the jeans. They are right in front of that brown box.

Oscar testified it was a financial meeting / issues regarding finances x

Oh, that's good. It will be interesting how she decides either way.

BBM - maybe. He filled up about half an hour of their time by saying she was showing him things on her phone while they were lying in bed, but he doesn't say much else, other than he was watching TV - but doesn't remember what he was watching. If there was tension there at all, and he wasn't speaking to her for some reason, it would explain why he doesn't have much to say about the evening. I still want to know why she left the house at 5.45pm (or thereabouts) and then came back 15 minutes later after getting a call from OP. Has that been explained yet? Maybe they had a disagreement before he even got home, and so she left, and then he rang back to apologise, so she went back - but then they didn't resolve it? Hence the silent night!

Thank you! :) I enjoy doing it.

I forgot about that! Why wouldn't Nel have exploited that in X, I wonder?

:waitasec:

,

Cross of whom? Pieter Baba? Because only Oscar can answer that and he have not been cross examined yet....
