Why does he not just answer the question? He is making it much worse for himself, and the defence, by prevaricating.

N: Who gave you the position OP was in when he fired the shots?

W: Cp Mangena.

N: So you agreed with Cp M where accused was standing?

Nel. we'll deal with that ( nels fave mutter) ..

Nel. on may 8th . you went with captain Mungeena, and made certain observations>>

Woll. I took photos , too.

Nel. and I am sre you would have reported back to the defence.. ??

Woll I am sure I did but not in a written report..

Nel.. we got sidetracked from you discussing things with the accused. were certain questions asked of the accused??

Woll. well. he was there, oh yes. I suppose so. yes.

Nel. so. you agree with Mungeenas position from where he fired the shots from ?

Woll. approx. from the point Mangeena said, its a possibility.. . bit of weird babble going on now.

N: You said to the Court that OP was present when questions were asked and answered.
W: He was there at stages.
N: You agree with Mangena where the accused fired the shots?
W: Approx from where he took his measurements re the height of OP and the position of the deceased.

  • #406
After a long meander, W says he did agree with Cp M where OP was standing.

  • #407
I feel sorry for Woolie now. He is too old for this kind of testifying. Poor guy. He is a genius, but a bit past his prime.

  • #408
The accused participated in the shot tests???????

Tell me it isn't so.

  • #409
Just once I'd like to see someone refuse one of OP's drawrings he hands to his team.

  • #410
Showing a photo of toilet, laser and beam. W agrees that shows 'approximately' where OP would have been standing.

Me: It's maybe 60cm away? I couldn't really tell from that pic.

Where's our tea break?

  • #412
Awww that was sweet. Like father and son.

  • #413
Cp M calls W 'My Wymung'?? And he sometimes calls him 'my son'???

Says they are Afrikaans terms and that means they have the greatest respect for each other so he will not criticize him....

  • #414
W and Mangena have respect for each other. Mangena calls him Oom.

  • #415
oh dear. Woll is maudlin and sentimental now. long detail of his respect for Mungeena, mungeenas respect for him he calls mungeena something like his ;'little bomb' or little Don. missed it. lot of stuttering going on,

I am feeling very sorry for Woll now. I kinda thought I would and so it has been ... I just want him to lie down with a cup of strong tea, with plenty of sugar, and listen to some Johnny Clegg for a while.

  • #418
So after throwing Dixon under the bus, Woolie praises Mangena highly, says they have much mutual respect for each other, and he wouldn't want to go against his findings.

" ...he even calls ms Uum, which is very respectful ..."

N: Do you agree if one moves the laser from there (B), to C, it will not get to E?

W: The laser could be just a little bit higher, then it would reach..

N: But you would have to move the laser to the right, to the washbasin?

W: You don't have to move, you could just twist your wrist, the angle would change.

W explains OP would not have had to move his body, just his hand.

Does this bloke know nothing about trajectories? .. those holes in the doors have specific angles to them
