I would have to disagree as the judge has scolded Nel more than once about his tactics.

And I was attempting to show you to illustrate how Nels questioning style appears to me by illustrating the absurd.

My apologies I did not mean to imply that you have engaged in some of the clairvoyant abilities posited here. I think your posts are very level headed and they make me think so thank you.

I am running super late, have a good day.
No worries and no apology needed. I think lawyers get scolded all the time - both sides, on a regular basis - it's all just part of the job and process.

One quick observation - when Nel said to Dixon 'I don't want to be rude ...' and the judge intervened to say 'Yes, Mr Nel, don't be rude', she had a very slight smile on her face. My take: she was saying 'You could go to town on this witness but don't. You don't need to - I am watching'. The next day he was more subdued and only went into attack mode when Dixon made a few big blunders, and M'lady didn't rein him in then.

The striation marks are clearly visible on the wound, almost like multiple tramlines. It's no surprise the photo's aren't magnified enough on the court monitors as they would easily show the inconsistencies. Once magnified, it's clear the striations don't correlate to the bullet at all. I'm not sure Nels had a good day so far. Clutching at straws has been a common theme.

I've attached a correctly enlarged pic of the wound for perusal.

I can't help wondering who has purchased the house - I wouldn't be surprised if residents got together and bought it. Otherwise, it could end up with a buyer who gives guided tours or something.

The agents says they accepted one 'of all the offers', but I do wonder exactly how many offers there were.

I don't think Nel or Roux would be doing their job properly if they never got told off by the judge. They both know witnesses are rarely impartial even if they claim to be so it's their job to probe around the testimony.

Nel is asking how hard it is to fire the gun.

N: You never established if the firearm was cocked when accused left the bedroom?

W: No milady.

N: One Up?

W: If it was one up, that would have required double action.

I think this is the 'double tap' thing going on here?

  • #589
N: The gun accused used, cannot be fired with the trigger being pulled.

W: Yes, I haven't investigated but yes, it cannot be fired without the trigger being pulled.

N: So to fire four shots, the trigger has to be pulled four times.

ETA: That should have been WITHOUT the trigger being pulled.

  • #590
W you must pull the trigger for the gun to fire. Nel's talking about the night of the shooting, but he's obviously covering Tasha's.

  • #591
N: You haven't discussed with accused about the firing shots into the door? Have you heard his version?

W: No....only heard what he said in court.

nel gets another piece of agreement on mangena's evidence.

the dt are not really changing much at all, imo. i really thought this guy was going to be more specific about the position that op shot from, the height, and the lack of gun aim.

IMHO the only real matter of importance in respect of the actual shots/shooting is whether or not OP fired:

1) bang...bang,bang,bang

or

2) bang,bang,bang,bang

The first goes towards the State's case having time for Reeva to scream between shots which in its turn goes towards the state proving intention, premeditation, knowledge of target, etc. etc., the second goes towards the defence's case leaving no time for Reeva to scream which in its turn goes toward showing spur of the moment, panic, fear, etc. etc. or at very least raising a reasonable doubt as to the State's case.

W is explaining why it is possible there could have been deflections of the bullets and Cpt M 'never took that into consideration'.

N: Are you happy that Cpt M took into account the height of the accused when shots were fired?

W: I'm happy with that.

He still believes though, that it was most likely B that caused secondary wounds.

W is explaining how he used a vertical/horizontal laser.

Nel: It's impossible!

I dunno which bullet they arguing about now. Still B and back wounds?

  • #597
Nel saying a bullet can't deflect upwards when original trajectory was downwards and W is insisting it can. He is not shifting;

'I have seen this before'.

  • #598
W: When you push a probe through, it can change the bullet hole.

He is saying police experts possibly damaged the bullet holes with their tests, before he got to test it himself.

  • #599
W: I think A is a bullet and I also said...if you can give me a second milady....
