Von explaining that while the door was stored in his office, he made sure his office was locked when he wasn't there. He said no one else had access to his office.

As they were carrying the door (in the plastic body bag) Von said pieces of the broken panel began to shift.

yes, its shocking that their most "valuable" piece of evidence has been contaminated, parts of it lost! - what a disgrace!

#OscarTrial VR: Door is the most valuable evidence and decided to take it down (worried about people gaining access to crime scene)

candidate attorney.. = one not called to the bar, but in the process of being indentured as an attorney, and an officer of the court..

V says other storage was full and he was worried it would get damaged.

Feb 18th, defence wanted to see the door so we broke the seal and 'let the door stand upright...small splinters fell out of one corner. I put them back.' He just unzipped it so photographer could take pics.

Defence wanted it taken out of bag altogether but he said no. Resealed it after.

V: 'I'm not with the police anymore. I'm coaching...sports. Sports is my life'

Roux's up

Von fighting back tears as he talks about not being on the police force any longer.

Says he's coaching sports now.

R: First time you went up was in the presence of Botha (upin OP's house)?

Then stops and asks for previous witness to come back? Confused?

Nel asked if he will call Botha. Says he doesn't know yet.

The amount of incompetence in this case is beyond staggering, a total failure.

Roux intends to explore the cricket bat issue ..

with Colonel V..

then he wants Botha called. but this depends on how long his questioning of Col V takes..

Nels says. he doesn't know as yet whether Botha will be called.. it depends on the evidence.. ( playing his cards close to his chest )

Roux.. now accuses VON of tailoring his evidence which will let Botha off the hook from testifying. Roux says VON is standing IN for Botha..

R: "We say in your evidence you went wider than you should go to make it unnessary for the state to call Mr Botha'

V: Pardon?

Judge: Can you simplify that question please?

Roux reminding him it's important to deal with facts in a truthful manner

V: We started this investigation and then it was handed over...some of the information not handed over in the statement...small gaps were filled in later.

seems to be some disparity re Roux s desire to have Botha testify on certain matters or VON..

Von is laying out how , while an investigation goes on in its continuum , matters change and evidence appears that requires changes..
