Von saying he saw several ladders on the ground when he went out on to main bedroom balcony.

R: You yourself did not pick up anything?

V: I did not.

Von: Firearm holster laying on the bedside table of the left-hand side of bed (left-hand side if viewing bed from foot of bed).

V noticed the holster on the left hand side of the bed, when you face the bed.

It was on the bedside table. He did not pick it up

V: I don't know what Mr Botha was doing at the time

V: There's no toilet window

???

Then Roux says 'You thought I was trying to catch you out, and V says 'I didn't see the toilet window'

Surreal testimony, and the Telgraph's live video coverage caused my other computer to go completely, utterly dead. I'm back to audio on my broken ipad.....

LOL! maybe your computer wanted a tea break too.

But seriously I hope you get it back working.

Floor or bedside table? My ears can't be working this morning.

You're correct - I rewound & Von said he noticed the holster on the left-hand side on the bedside table.

TY! I'll edit my post so as not to cause confusion.

Oh, I would love to have a rewind facility!

This witness comes over as defensive to me and it makes me uncertain about his testimony. I think Roux has some information up his sleeve that may really damage it.

Did anyone notice where Roux tried to force an answer from Nel about if the state was going to call Botha? They seem to really want him - are defence not able to call him themselves?

I see some confusion over which came first... the Baba or the Pistorius

From Roux's cross examination of Baba and the Security land-line phone records (Submitted into evidence, but not available to the public)

3:21:33AM
Oscar calls security - only crying is heard

3:22:05 AM
Baba PHONED Pistorius BACK and Pistorius indicated that he was fine

I hope that clarifies it.

OP called first.

Was there another call from Oscar to Baba after 3:22? Because we don't know if the alleged 3:21 call was the one where Oscar was crying or if Baba even took it. He seems quite sure in his sequence of events.

Does anybody know what's up with OP's hair? What are those whitish patches on the side/back of his head? Is it hair or are they bald patches? TIA

Trooper, in answer to your question, I don't know for sure, but I assume someone could be mostly bilingual but still choose to give their testimony in Afrikaans because they are more comfortable with the language, more confident about using the right words, descriptions, etc... you can be 90% confident with a language but that 10% could make all the difference to your being properly understood... So rather have the translator there, than not!

My Polish mother in law speaks English well and she understands it but she struggles to find the words or grammar or her accent is too hard to understand so she resorts to speaking Polish and let's my husband translate. It's just easier sometimes. They may speak English and understand it but not be confident in their ability to speak it well or know they are hard to understand due to a heavy accent.

I don't think there was another call. The phone records were entered into evidence and Nel said nothing. Baba was at OP's house 3:26

I guess we'll have to see. Makes sense though. I wish we could see all phone records for ourselves, cell and landline.
