V admits that he was wrong as to where the cartridges were in his statement. Not two by basin. One near bath, one near basin.

On to the two phones v split phone and undiscovered white one.

Roux making witness go through statement para by para and explain anything he finds that he now thinks is incorrect.....what's Roux got up his sleeve?

R: Remember I said your testimony is intended to take the place of Botha's?...who went upstairs according to your para 10?

V: long pause...I went.

R: Where's Botha?

V: I'm convinced he was with me

Now on to a debate about of use of 'we' and 'I'. Roux's suggesting that use of 'I' means V was alone and Botha was elsewhere.

what is the deal with the language translation/switches ..

example: Rensburg testifying in afrikaans(I presume) with a translator .. naturally, your impression is that he's doing this because his english is just not good enough to be understood and/or that he won't understand the questions .. but here he is switching and talking in english quite fluently just like the first witness .. I don't get it ..

is it maybe because they're not quite confident in their english so they start off with the afrikaans because they have a better comfort level with it ? .. but even if that's the case, they ended up ditching their afrikaans and went with english without a problem .. I don't get it ..

apologies if this has already been addressed

Roux badly badly intensely wants some one , ANYONE but Oscar or Clarice Standar, who VON is not responsible for, to have GONE UPSTAIRS ALONE..

to fiddle with the window?? plant evidence??

but it hasn't happened..

it is intensely important from Oscars point of view, that SOMEONE went up alone and unsupervised to the top floor

R: We have a copy of Botha's statement. I don't know if it's the truth. It was given us by the state.

R points out Botha said when he arrived, OP was in the garage. So that means V went upstairs alone. Because V said when he went upstairs, OP was left in kitchen...

Roux has caught him out!

Roux has gone all around the haystack to get to this point.

Botha is going to be the fall guy.

Roux has to get Botha up those stairs on his own foolin around with stuff.

R talking about someone else's statement; 'If it's the truth'......he is devastating with these little asides about state's witnesses integrity.

I think he's got V upstairs alone at the moment....

V just said the statement R is reading 'Amazing. Because he did not go up there. He was not on the crime scene'.

Who is the statement from that R is reading?

If there's one thing we can all for say for sure it's Roux's wife would never ever dare lie to him.

Now V just said that statement is untrue, but R's just proved the description of firearn/cartridges/broken door in it is accurate. Sounds like that witness WAS on the scene at the time.

V's truthfullness is being discredited by statements from fellow officers and officials.

Cpt M arrived on scene about 4.50. V doesn't know time.

R: He's uncertain about his times as well.

R: Cpt's statement: I saw a cabinet with sunglasses and 6 watches. 'While at the scene, Botha came and 'she'?? and the Col pointed out the scene.

V: I was on the scene. First time with Botha. Second time with S. Nobody else entered the crime scene.

V really not doing a good job of convincing anyone he is being truthfull about the crime scene and who was on it. I feel sorry for him, this is so bad.

Well, it's clear that someone is lying. It's either Von or the other detective whose name I didn't catch (the other one who gave that statement Roux was reading from).

I still believe to the best of Von's ability to recall he is truthful........I have my doubt of other 's statements...I don't know why I do...
