People in the area are used to the smell of a dead animal, very often you find them in the ditches along the sideroads,etc. If he did smell something, he could have thought it was a dead animal somewhere. I have no idea if the smell is different of a human compared to an animal. Anyone know?
Maybe he wasn't aware of the news reports concerning the case, and wasn't aware that police were on the lookout for her remains. The lady in the CFRB 1010am interview stated he is a Menonite. Maybe they are very old fashioned, and do not have radio, tv or internet. :twocents:

He probably did notice an odour, but that's common out in the country with dead raccoons, etc.strange he didn't notice the garbage bags or the odour of decay...JMO
