@AM980_Court
  • Pollanen knew the body was in a "relatively closed environment", so decomposition was delayed or slowed,

  • He tells court he worked closely with a forensic anthropologist who helped with reconstructing the remains

Tori was burried under rocks. Which added to the injuries found on her body.

Pollanen says insect activity was also present in this case.

Jury being shown PowerPoint presentation prepared by Pollanen.

Part of Pollanen's evidence is a slideshow.

Court told Pollanen could not find evidence of "sexual interference" on the remains but this "could not be reasonably expected to be found"

Just as I suspected. Yep...they'll be resolving this case the old fashioned way IMO. Unless we have 12 people who need DNA evidence to convict...the "CSI effect". In which case we really have a problem with our court system.

Instructions from Judge Heeney, and more on Rafferty wearing Victoria's colour.

Heeney said the evidence "cannot help but tug at your heartstrings" but warned jurors against allowing their emotions to cloud their judgment.

"We are, after all, dealing with the death of a little girl and we are all of us human," Heeney said.

n court, Rafferty wore a purple shirt and purple striped tie -- the same shade of deep purple as the ribbons Tori's family has taken to wearing in her memory because it was her favourite colour.
