@RaffertyLFP
  • Doupe is explaining the various procedures used to prevent cross-contamination of evidence

  • #63
Doupe telling the jury about the measures used to protect the integrity of the evidence.

Doupes said the roots of the blond hairs found on the coat were suitable for DNA testing and were sent on to those experts

Nuclear DNA testing was done on the two hairs, as well as other tests

  • Doupe said two blond hairs with active roots were removed from the pea coat by using tape

And....he's toast. If he only helped bury the body when she was already in garbage bags, he wouldn't have any of her hair on him.

Those tests are done by biology experts.

Court is being shown a slide of 3 garbage bags found at the crime scene

Doupe said she could not analyze the garbage bags because they do not have fibres

Doupe was shown the garbage bags Tori's body was found in. They weren't suitable for damage examination. They have no fibers.

Oh but wait...his "story" has that covered. The coat was in the back seat with Victoria while she was just happily riding along in the car to Guelph remember? :liar:

The environmental conditions were a factor in not examining the bag. Doupe has an email explaining why. Reads it to the court.

The bags were touched by rocks, rain, other outdoor things. Made them unsuitable for testing.

RaffertyLFP: Doupe is excused as witness, no cross-examination

No more questions from Carnegie. Derstine has none.

The crown has called Jennifer McLean.

Not exactly, she was in the backseat and so was the coat-easy to explain away by the defense. But............the piece of material that has been determined to be cut from the backseat is another story. I go back to my past post that there would have been no innocent reason to cut chunks out of the seat. Something happened in the back of that car and if we 'believe' TLM's testimony of the physical assault occurring on the ground OUTSIDE the car, then what other reason than the sexual assault would there be for the seat to have been cut and then removed?

He wasn't wearing the pea coat, it is alleged through TLM's testimony that the pea coat was used to cover Tori in the backseat of the car. My opinion is, if they identify these two hairs as Tori's then it is evidence that Tori was in fact in the car and covered with the pea coat - JMO.
