Does this mean they found sperm cells in the blood spot? Or is she explaining the procedure of finding sperm cells?

Frustrating that the tweets are ambiguous! My read was that a small spot was tested for DNA - the majority contribution of DNA was TS, and there was only one marker found for another individual's DNA so it is unidentified.

On the further scrutiny of whether there was sperm present, we definitely need clarificatiOn ....

They sure are dancing around in there!

There is more blood evidence to be presented however - MR's gymbag has a "mixture" of TS and MR blood.

The blood lined up with the door closed, so something definitely happened in the car.

Now, tell us about the tested fabric! If the spot was big enough for them to cut it out then there has to be enough DNA on it.

I also want to know if the hairs found on the pea coat were Tori's. They didn't say!!

So I was there for a little bit today, to my understanding they have not said what the results of the fabric were (I got there just after first recess). Also they did not yet reveal any results of whether the blood sample tested contained sperm cells. They were talking about 2 DNA profiles found in the blood sample and how there wasn't enough to determine a 2nd DNA profile, but the first DNA profile was that of Tori. It is really all very interesting but also very confusing.

Just before lunch the crown said they would be getting into different areas so it would be a good time to break. Hopefully when court resumes we will get the answers we have all been waiting for.

Oh and by seeing the pictures of where the blood was found, I don't know if it's easy to say something definitely happened in the car, but I think maybe when Tori was taken out of it?

I thought I read somewhere stating the blue handled knife was thrown away. I found this article which says it's similar. Which makes me believe it is not the knife used to cut the seat. HTH

A blue-handle Mastercraft knife was also found in Rafferty’s home, similar to the one McClintic said in court she used to cut out pieces of Rafferty’s car backseat after the girl had been killed.

What the heck is that suppose to mean? Blood was found on the FRONT passenger seat? Maybe the back of the passenger seat? Typos can really throw people off. :maddening:

I bet the blood on the door frame came from Tori got out to piddle as TLM said Tori peed blood. OMG that precious child. That would explain why MR's DNA was mixed with her blood. EVIL!!:jail: :moo:

Nope they said it was found in the front too...

Thanks for the clarification. You sure do beat 140 character limit on Twitter.

Am I dreaming? I thought way back they said MR had intercourse... with Tori in the front seat while TLM was outside the car ....waiting.

TLM said they started out in the front seat then went to the back seat I supposed cuz it was too awkward and the car horn was honking. I find this weird cuz according to her, she was in the back seat all along, so why take Tori from the back seat to the front seat then back to the back seat.

Thanks for the clarification. You sure do beat 140 character limit on Twitter.

Too bad the public can't tweet from the overflow room too

It could be that TLM's assault on VS started in the car. That would explain the evidence of blood and the need to remove the back seat to hide the evidence.

That would also coincide with the pathology report of significant facial damage to VS.

The presence of sperm would be difficult, if not impossible for the defense to explain.

Thank you for clarifying Jezbel. :blowkiss:That is helpful to know. It must be hard for some reporters to keep up with the tweets, but one typo can really throw you for a loop.:moo:

So DNA was also found on the front seat of MR's car. Let's pray it shows more evidence then the spot of blood on the door frame. :please:

I believe the Crown likes to take breaks right around very crucial information to give the jurors time to process what they've heard and refresh them, have them alert, for what is about to come. :moo:

Not at all difficult to explain if MR's sperm is mixed with Tori's blood or DNA. HTH and :moo:

No I can't unfortunately, have to work :( I wish I could because it's easier to understand what they are saying actually being there as opposed to the tweets. Jennifer McLean is very very detailed in her answers, the portion of her testimony so far is quite long winded and in depth of the how's where's and why's etc.

And Really now! Why can't they? What is it with the court system here?

@11:40 RaffertyLFP: Doupe said two blond hairs with active roots were removed from the pea coat by using tape

I would think active roots would ensure enough DNA for a complete DNA profile

The findings are stated and then they go into further detail about the dna/sperm/blood which were found. There are stages in the way the present to the court.
JMHO.

Exactly, so they should confirm it is Tori's blond hair and not one of MR's blond girlfriend's hair.

I think the tweets about the blood are very confusing. We will see when the pictures come out but I believe the blood stain was on the frame of the car and the door moulding, on the rear passenger side, probably way below any visable part of the door panel because the car door was apparently open for the entire assault and murder. So if a blood splatter got on either the frame or the door, when the door was closed it would transfer.

I don't think that proves that anything violent as in hitting Victoria with a weapon happened in the car. I do believe there was a violent assault of a different kind going on in that back seat. The claw end of a hammer was used on a garbage bag. Good chance it would tear and there would be splatter. If a violent attack on her head or face started to happen in the car, more that just the bench part of the seat would be missing. That blood would have splattered to the upholstery on the backs of the front seats, the carpet, the upholstered roof, etc.
