The reason we are having this trial is because Victoria's blood was found in his car and her body was found in a remote area in Mt Forest just to mention two of many reasons.

But you're right. I suppose we wouldn't be having this trial if she never confessed. Or maybe we would anyway thanks to the CASS video.

I doubt that she turned over ALL of the money to him. She would want to be sure that the government couldn't come after her for income tax - so it would be easier just to say that she turned it all over to him - now that she has to testify that she was giving him all this cash. It would be pretty hard to track since it would be all cash money. I wonder if some of it was for the sale of drugs too ?? Also, someone posted that she was on Mother's Allowance - If this is the case she wouldn't want to have bank accounts in her name that could lead to her being denied benefits - thus Bank account in his name so they could save for their future together. Yikes !! What an animal this guy is !!!

hold up! the child tax benefits are paid SO WOMEN DO NOT resort to things like escorting and such...can't stand when someone rips off the tax payer. JMO

The issue isn't the testimony, the jurors are allowed to use the testimony by these women in their decision whether or not convict. The judge said they cannot be swayed in their descision because MR dated multiple women at the same time. How many women he was dating has no relevance, what they actually said does have relevance - HTH.

No but they can use the fact that he manipulated them hence it would be very difficult to believe that TLM was the mastermind and the one that thought of this plan and actively went through with it.

Prostitution is the exchange of sex for money.

Escorts exchange their time for money.

Still looking for any references to prostitution in the testimony.

This admission resulted in audible gasps in the courtroom.

The London, Ont., woman told the court she had met Rafferty on the dating website, Plenty of Fish in April 2008. According to his bank records shown in court, she deposited a total of $16,835.00 into Rafferty’s account.

The numerous payments were made in December 2008 and May 2009. One transaction was $1,000.

"Escort" does not imply sex, but that can be negotiated. There have been changes in the law in Canada, but I don't know if they're in effect. There is/was a law against "living off the avails", but even that may now be gone in the case of a madam because the girls need a safe place to do it.

I don't think she could have made over 16K in 6 months if sex was not involved. Besides, the word escort is a nice, politically correct word which means the same thing as prostitute. Personals couldn't print the words 'prostitute looking to make money' so they came up with the word escort. It's a bit naive to think it's not the same

I guess we're talking about the "escort". We first saw her name just yesterday as someone he had been BBMing with from the RIM employee's evidence. I suppose she had to be on the witness list, but maybe everything she was going to say wasn't known. It would take a lot of guts for someone with the custody of small children to admit publicly she's turning tricks.
