More than 13,900 people were involved in the search and they covered more than 18,000 kilometres from April 18 to mid-July, said Det-Sgt. Jamie Stirling, the OPP’s Emergency and Rescue Coordinator.
“They went one-and-a-half-times around the moon,” said Stirling. “Definitely the largest seen in the history.” The circumference of the moon is 10,800 km, he pointed out to the jury.

Imagine that. 13,800 people involved in the search for Victoria and one guy zipping around town in his recently converted two seater car who could have solved the whole case for them the night of the abduction. :waitasec:

Hi Salem,
Just for clarification. If JW is mentioned in MSM articles and it is revealed who she is, is it ok to sleuth her? TIA
I agree with everyone who is talking about the back seat of the car which is so mysteriously missing! If MR did not sexually assault that girl then there would be no reason for him to conceal the location of the seat and not assist LE in finding it! Oh right, I forgot, his lawyer says he only helped to clean up the mess at the scene (*pfffffttt whatever!*).
Thanks to all those who are providing us with the tweet updates because without them, I have no doubt I wouldn't be able to keep up while working most days! You folks are awesome!
JUSTICE FOR VICTORIA ELIZABETH STAFFORD AND HER LOVED ONES!
Maybe JW could shed some light on when the back seat disappeared. If a day could be pinpointed, then phone pings may help find the location.
It sounds like he was meeting her at Goodlife. Had plastic bags with him... going from his car to hers. It's possible he was planning to go into hiding. She would be able to help with that info too.
have there ever been any family of Rafferty's in court?
I've been told no. But, lots of people. Impossible to know 100%.
Mike Knoll: - we have been told by Rafferty's lawyer that no family members are present.
we've been on lunch break. About to return.
Search far exceeded the number involved in search after the killing of the Regiers in Huron County
Stirling explaining the process of a missing persons case.
Also explaining how officers involved in the search are trained.
So they had to hunt him down living his life as if everything is fine and dandy. I can't wait for the next testimony on what happened when they arrested him. It will definitely tell the tale to the jury. By this point, here he is going to the gym, saying to LE that he knows TLM but not that well, knows nothing about the crime just heard about it meanwhile they, the jury, have already heard to this point that he was in fact there. Interesting. Derstine you have quite the challenge ahead IMO
