Equivalent to 1 1/2 Times around the Moon?

OMG. :(

So many kind, wonderful people. 13,900 GOOD people.

More than 13,900 people were involved in the search and they covered more than 18,000 kilometres from April 18 to mid-July, said Det-Sgt. Jamie Stirling, the OPP’s Emergency and Rescue Coordinator.

“They went one-and-a-half-times around the moon,” said Stirling. “Definitely the largest seen in the history.” The circumference of the moon is 10,800 km, he pointed out to the jury.

So they had to hunt him down living his life as if everything is fine and dandy. I can't wait for the next testimony on what happened when they arrested him. It will definitely tell the tale to the jury. By this point, here he is going to the gym, saying to LE that he knows TLM but not that well, knows nothing about the crime just heard about it meanwhile they, the jury, have already heard to this point that he was in fact there. Interesting. Derstine you have quite the challenge ahead IMO

Imagine that. 13,800 people involved in the search for Victoria and one guy zipping around town in his recently converted two seater car who could have solved the whole case for them the night of the abduction. :waitasec:

MOO

OMG, put in that perspective, it is even more sickening. Ugh.

Hi Salem,

Just for clarification. If JW is mentioned in MSM articles and it is revealed who she is, is it ok to sleuth her? TIA

Not unless she really has some connection to this case. At this point it appears that she is just someone that knew MR and/or gave him a ride. Maybe she dated him, maybe they were old school chums BUT that does NOT involve her in the case.

It is not fair to drag innocents through our pages just because they knew someone. There has to be a solid connection to the case at hand, kwim?

HTH,

Salem

I wonder if she will be called to the stand.

  • #227
I am wondering how many women he knew will be on the stand. That should be coming up soon I would think.

  • #228
It would be interesting to see MTR mugshot from his arrest to see if he had cold sores at that point showing how stressed he was?

I agree with everyone who is talking about the back seat of the car which is so mysteriously missing! If MR did not sexually assault that girl then there would be no reason for him to conceal the location of the seat and not assist LE in finding it! Oh right, I forgot, his lawyer says he only helped to clean up the mess at the scene (*pfffffttt whatever!*).

Thanks to all those who are providing us with the tweet updates because without them, I have no doubt I wouldn't be able to keep up while working most days! You folks are awesome!

JUSTICE FOR VICTORIA ELIZABETH STAFFORD AND HER LOVED ONES!

Well that the thing. If he doesn't take the stand and say where the seat is or what he did with it he is leaving it to the jury to make the assumption and that wouldnt help his case. I just dont get it.

Maybe JW could shed some light on when the back seat disappeared. If a day could be pinpointed, then phone pings may help find the location.

It sounds like he was meeting her at Goodlife. Had plastic bags with him... going from his car to hers. It's possible he was planning to go into hiding. She would be able to help with that info too.

Maybe he was going to stay over at her house and was bringing clothes with him?

Original comment asked who the woman was but I have deleted it because since I have caught up, I noticed the woman's name was already mentioned. Maybe we will find out more information about the woman and her connection to MR later. I was thinking maybe she was a drug dealer or someone he sold to but maybe not. If she is not pertinent to the case at hand then it doesn't matter I guess.

I believe Derstine and Scoyne disagreed on if there was any incline or not, not the degree of the incline.

Prior to the tweets you referenced, LE agreed with Derstine there is in fact an incline.

Not much I agree..........but Derstine did purposefully establish that.

have there ever been any family of Rafferty's in court?

I've been told no. But, lots of people. Impossible to know 100%.

Mike Knoll: - we have been told by Rafferty's lawyer that no family members are present.

we've been on lunch break. About to return.

The jury is back in the courtroom. Ready to begin

RaffertyLFP: Sgt. Neil Butler called as next witness by the crown

Sgt. Neil Butler has been called by the crown.

Butler is presently employed by Woodstock Police; has been an officer for 23 years

RaffertyLFP: Butler participated in 'drive-along tours' with Terri-Lynne McClintic.

He was an Identification Constable when Tori went missing.

Search far exceeded the number involved in search after the killing of the Regiers in Huron County

Stirling explaining the process of a missing persons case.

Also explaining how officers involved in the search are trained.

BBM: Here is a link to the Regiers case, it's interesting because of the sentence Jesse Imeson got.

‏ @RaffertyLFP
  • Police were looking for claw hammer, folding knife, garbage bags, shopping bags, receipts.

BBM: Hmmm, why were they looking for the knive, I thought they found that among MR's possession?

@AM980_Court
  • Rafferty put plastic bags in a Honda Accord at the gym. A woman was driving. Rafferty was getting into the car.

BBM I wonder if those are the left-over garbage bags.

I can see why the crown has the chapters in that order :)

:what:Wonder who the woman driving the Honda Accord was? Girlfriend 1, girlfriend 2, girlfriend 3... ? We know it wasn't TLM as she was in the detention centre. Maybe his mom? Will this woman be called to testify? :moo::moo:
