The anticipated track of Isaac will put the Lesser Antilles in line for possible impacts next week. Environmental conditions across the Atlantic will be favorable for strengthening as it tracks toward the islands.

Rumblings are starting that it might intensify when it gets in Caribbean and end up a gulf coast event

Isaac is a small hurricane and uncertainty in the forecast is
greater than normal.

low chance of tropical cyclone formation in the next 48 hours

the next 48 hours: 10%

the next 5 days: 40%

There seems to be some degree of change in the past 24 hours or so. Ventusky and Windy were both suggesting Isaac would run south of Puerto Rico and Hispaniola, weakening dramatically by the time it reached the latter. Ventusky now suggests it will turn north across the Dominican Republic and head out into the Atlantic towards Bermuda. However it's uncertain what would happen in that scenario after 20th. The worst case scenario would have it heading on the same path as Florence and making landfall in the Carolinas while they're still mopping up.

Windy continues to show it running west and conking out south of Jamaica. Obviously if it squeaked into the Gulf it could re-intensify quite quickly.
