Troubled country singer Mindy McCready, RIP

and especially can't figure out why she was in a home with guns.IMO

that one has me perplexed too... who would allow her access to a gun... b/c surely she couldn't acquire one on her own considering her history of troubles and suicide attempts ??

(did LE take wilson's gun after his suicide and then give it back to her after ballistics testing? did he keep other firearms in the home?)

McCready's Suicide: No One to Blame; Much to Learn
By Dale Archer, M.D. on February 19, 2013 - 10:25am

(Talks about the addiction paired with mental illness. I thought it was a very informative article)

Wow! To me-being the mother of a maybe /probably bi-polar child/adult-I absolutely love this doctor. Forget the speculation about the phone call and why recorded yaddi ya-
Dr. Archer said it all.
And God bless you Kimberly for submitting the article. You have given me much peace in doing so.

God rest Mindy's soul and please God send comfort to her family.

That said-pray for us.

From your link:

"People talk about a train wreck, but the world lost a real person, a human being, a mother," says country singer Chely Wright, a friend of McCready's from their early days in Nashville. "I'm praying for her kids."

I totally agree Chely!

I absolutely adore Chely. She certainly has guts. With all the celebrities who are not doing well now...
I am so glad that at least her life is going well. Chely and Lauren are expecting TWINS this summer!
:great:

I will certainly be praying for your child and you.

I don't know why people with mental illnesses are so harshly judged. If we could all just try to understand their struggles and have compassion, the world would be a much better place.
If we could all see it for what it is, ILLNESS, perhaps it would help.

Nobody asks for or deserves it.

I am glad that the authorities have finally made a determination about David's COD and MOD.

Rest in Peace, both Mindy and David. Your struggles are now over.

JMO, IMO, :moo:, and all other disclaimers.

We have Hank yet again with a comment "the house was full of guns because David was a gun nut"

http://www.cnn.com/2013/02/19/showbiz/mindy-mccready

It does boggle the mind why those guns were not removed from the home. Not to say she couldn't have ended her life by some other means but why make it easier for her.She may have had a chance if she had tried by any other method.

thanks friend for linking this...

i think any wrath or disgust heaped on cain for sharing his feelings is uncalled for. i don't understand why is he in the wrong for sharing his experiences and called "disrespectful"... he experienced her "crazy". he's allowed to talk imo.

I agree-I don't think he was being disrespectful, just truthful in what happened in their relationship. He has that right!

Here is a link to one of several articles that mention Wilson having purchased a new truck 3 weeks before he died. I'm assuming that was likely the gorgeous shiny dark grey truck that was reported to have been in the driveway:

http://ca.eonline.com/news/383088/mindy-mccready-s-dead-boyfriend-david-wilson-5-burning-questions

I seem to recall in an earlier link that it was said she knew she was being recorded. This is why I believe that she brought up pills and the insinuation that David wasn't taking his medicine, and that she regrets not getting them to him by some method.I'm cynical as well, which is why I don't think it was Hank that wanted to make use of the recorded conversation.
I'm sure that he is making use of the recording now to be in the limelight.
Buying a new truck makes it seems as though he planned to be around for awhile. That is new info to me.
I'm not sure if he was prescribed any medication but I'm sure LE will look into it.
The comment from Mindy "you'll know when" should have caused anyone to wonder.I thought the same as well.
I don't know why she was left alone in her state of mind and especially can't figure out why she was in a home with guns.

<Mod Snip>

What you call uncalled for I call common sense.

What you call "crazy" I call mental illness.

Yes, he's speaking the truth and I don't blame him. What I don't like is for someone who was on bad terms with her, to carry on like they were still close. But, on the other hand, I wish Cain had been a little more empathetic? Yes, he described exactly how I remember their relationship, but whereas he was a grown man of about 30, she wasn't very mature and was about 20. She wasn't much more than a kid, so a lot of her 'drama', should be 'forgotten' (kept to himself), and at least partially chalked up to immaturity. That's what often happens when there's a big age gap. The 2 people are at different places in life, and they aren't compatible. But, speaking the truth isn't the same as badmouthing. That time was a big part of his life too, and he should have the right to talk about it. I remember him saying that he thought he had a sweet, country girl, and he was disappointed when that didn't turn out to be the case. I remember thinking, 'well, go out with someone your own age then'. It really is a shame that drugs and alcohol became such a dominating factor with Mindy. I understand that people self medicate though. Mentally and emotionally sick people are pulled to drugs like a magnet, and it takes a lot more than sheer willpower, to resist. Because, (and I hate to say this), self medicating Does work, up to a point. It's an escape and for a little while, a person can feel better. And what sick person doesn't want to feel better?

Very interesting. He checked into a hotel for a few days with the thought of leaving Mindy.I read another article where it was said that David had returned home to tell her he was leaving the day he died.
Then we have Dean Cain saying he fled his home in order to end their relationship.
If true...it seems to be a pattern.

IMO, there's a time and place to share such details and after they've committed suicide, to speak so poorly about that person (whether true or not), is classless and tacky. I think that most people know that you shouldn't speak ill of the dead. I also find it strange that after so many years he clearly harbors so much animosity toward her. We all go through a bad relationship at one point in our lives but if it was 15+ years ago, we generally tend to move on and chalk it up to a learning experience.

Perhaps he should have chosen a woman closer to his age as opposed to a young pretty blonde bombshell (what a trophy for him!) who was very new to the world of fame.

Up until him, I have never read comments like his from anyone who had a bad relationship with an ex who has since passed. Most people have the good sense to be very general in their comments and be respectful, if nothing else, to that person's loved ones. If what Cain said was true (and not some media dog putting their spin on things), then I think he has no class.

It's not his opinion I'm disgusted about.
It's his lack of compassion and manners by running his mouth and bashing this deceased woman while her family is grieving.

Again, I wasn't raised that way and I'm very thankful.

He may have held back for all we know.If the relationship was so bad that he had to flee his home....I'm thinking he could have said a lot worse than he did.
Sometimes people can cause you so much hurt and distress that you never forget it no matter how many years have gone by.
I do agree that with his being in the public eye that he should have tempered his response to the questions asked of him.On the other hand I value his insight.
We all want to speak well and think of only the good of those who have passed on but maybe he couldn't manage that.
I'm sure the family of Mindy have more pressing matters than anything an ex might say to the media.

I understand she has passed & I feel for her children, but she left a lot of unresolved issues her for children, family & friends & lets not forget David's friends & family to try & understand. His side feel like he would not have killed himself. They have a right to ask questions. But she is gone now,so they have to find other avenues to get those answers, whether it be by her behavior, exs. Her pass is very important here.
Other thing-why is it-LE can rule her death as self inflicted 3 days after her death, but not David's.
That tells me a lot!!ALL JMO

btw, i don't think it's accurate to ascribe causation for the majority of her troubles to addiction and mental illness... in an interview she clearly stated she was making poor choices... so she knew what she was doing imo:

"yeah, things have been going bad. i think it's god's way of getting my attention saying 'you better wake up girl. i have important stuff for you to do in life,' and i've definitely been preoccupied or sidetracked doing the wrong things."

it's a shame she couldn't get it together for the sake of her boys :(
