From the article:

But do you really want to come out and promote a clothing line on Travis Scott in the next three months? You’re going to get [destroyed]. You’re going to get the letters from the Christian right. The media’s gonna be all over you. You’re gonna need crisis management, damage control.”

I find it offensive all around that the only people who could possibly find Travis Scott repugnant at this point and know how to "write letters" are the Christian right.

Jmo

It's gonna get blowback from everyone, not just the Christian Right. Travis Scott needs to stay out of the spotlight for now. (Preferable never to perform live again. )

Is there no end to this grotesquerie? I wouldn't even want someone with no experience working at a concession stand in such an overcrowded venue.

Without any experience -- Bush says he still assigned to the area near the stage where the chaos was the worst. He saw lifeless bodies. He was told he would be paid $17 an hour through Cash App. He has not been paid. I would not accept a job that paid me through CashApp but I am also not super young.. Because this exact thing is something I would think would happen.. Which he still isn't paid.

Security guard nothing pricked his neck, said he was punched.

Astroworld security clears up story, says he wasn't injected with drugs: LIVE UPDATES

During a press conference on Wednesday afternoon, Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said that they had located the security guard they previously addressed, and that he explained that he was struck and fell unconscious.

He awoke in a security tent and clarified when speaking with law enforcement that he was not injected with drugs.

During a previous press conference, Finner said they'd received a report that the guard felt that he was pricked in the neck before falling unconscious and it was reported that medical professionals found markings on his neck consistent with such an event.

Astroworld security clears up story, says he wasn't injected with drugs: LIVE UPDATES

Travis Scott recently removed several Instagram posts following a TMZ report that highlighted photos of people injured or passed out at his concerts along with captions in which he praised them and others for the rowdiness of his concerts.

The outlet reports that some of the photos included captions like "SHE BROKE HER HAND AND SHE DOESN'T GIVE A F***!!!" and "IT'S NOT A SHOW UNTIL SOMEONE PASS OUT."

Can you give a brief summary?

I would, but I can't hear any of the reporter's questions. Hate it when that happens.

  • After the concert, rapper Drake, who also performed at Astroworld, reportedly hosted an after party at a Dave & Buster's, which Travis Scott, 29, attended after chaos broke out during his show.

  • Law enforcement said during a press conference over the weekend that the first injuries of the night were reported around 9:30 p.m. and that the show was stopped by 10:10 p.m.

  • They said the 40-minute time-lapse was due to the size and age of the crowd. Eight attendees from ages 14-27 died.

I think they need to rethink huge festivals if they cannot easily reach deceased/injured/distressed guests.
At some point, people's well-being needs to come before profits.

What does the time-lapse have to do with the age of the crowd???? Like I could see size, but it's easy enough to stop the music, lights, production, etc. with one word. Yes may cause initial upset, but use the mic to say what happened.

He previously mentioned it was not a police call to end it, but the concert promoter and organizers to end the show. Which we have heard Scott continued through his whole set.

How would they be able to make it through the crush without also getting crushed though? People were jumping on top of the ambulance.

Do you think it might be because suddenly stopping the event could have caused even more chaos?

That's what LE said the other day, but IMO, that's BS. We've had numerous clips posted in this thread where artists of all genres stopped concerts in order to help people and the audience was always very gracious, concerned and willing to help.

The investigation could "take weeks, possibly months," police Chief Troy Finner told reporters Wednesday. "We're investigating everything," he said.

Finner noted that the "ultimate authority to end a show (was) with production and the entertainer, and that should be through communication with public safety officials."

“We don't hold the plug," he said.
