There are always people who are willing to help and this young military man sure stepped up to help as many scared children as he could! He could have easily just taken cover in the mall, but he went out to help. I'm so thankful for all the helpers/heroes in this tragedy today as I know there are many good acts by people today!

If they aren't living with racists or lunatics that share their ideas their behavior might freak out the people closest to them. I have no links or evidence to back this up, but I believe many of these people don't spout off to anyone in real life about their ideas. Only online.

Hence the inevitable "we had no idea" responses in the aftermath.
