agreed! Do not give him the infamy he seeks. Those that really want to know can research it.

Yes. And really the purpose of that is this becomes less attractive to the next loser sitting in mom's basement.

I feel like we need to have armed guards at the entrance of every public place.

But what about the parking lot? Sounds like he started there. What about the beach? A park? I mean can we really have armed guards walking around everywhere there are groups of people?

CNN has his name all over the place online. In fact in the very first paragraph!

That's too bad. Looks like all the networks do. But CNN doesn't have his name on the news. I'm watching. Not once.

That's how it should be.

My mistake. Point is, even security sometimes can't respond quickly enough.
That's the real problem. There's no available solution to mass shootings...maybe education can do something (but if somebody is mentally ill education become useless :()

This makes me so sick and and upset! Then I see the killer with ear protection on to protect his ears from the loud noise while he killed innocent children and adults. How insane and inhuman to worry about his precious ears while killing others!

Seriously.

No, I'm sure it would never happen.
It's just my reaction to how bad it's become.
I wish we knew the answer to how to prevent these tragedies from happening.

FOX is refusing to say his name on air, too.

People want to believe that there’s some easy solution here, one that will stop these things from happening.

Like there’s a simple, one size fits all answer.

There isn’t.

You can only hope to stop some of these attacks, and mitigate the loss of life in the ones that do occur.

Try to stop them, but recognize the reality at the same time.

Super complex issue with no easy solutions. I think a small start would be society agreeing and pressuring the media to not glorifying these cowards. Don't name them. No pictures.

Jinx. It's so scary so we want an easy and quick solution. But this phenomena developed over several decades and has so many different components. It's frustrating and terrifying. It's like the heads of the hydra.

Did they post videos on MSM or on twitter? :(

i saw it on CNN. They play it about every 20 minutes. They issue a graphic warning. I usually stop at those tables to support whatever group is there. Usually childrens sports, girl scouts, etc.

Good. They're also printing his name though, like CNN, online, first paragraph.

I really wish the media would agree to stop that.

I mean go ahead and describe the person. Age. Where they're from. What they seemed to be into ok social media. But don't post their photos or names. Because even if that's easily found elsewhere, if the major networks refused it would have a huge impact. Especially if they say "as a network we are honoring the victims by minimizing publicity of the coward who harmed them." Editorializing? Not neutral? Yeah. But I think it's needed.

And no aired footage of people being shot and running away screaming.

I had a panicky moment in Denny's yesterday morning. They do a block on cell phones to try to force you to purchase their wifi. For a quick moment I thought my phone couldn't make a call. I wigged out. What if a shooter came in, or something? I was about ready to chew the manager out. And I always check for exits.

Didn't Christchurch stop the mention of the suspect's name?
