A couple hours after she was found, right? So he didn't know she'd been missing. I wonder if the parents came home from work and she was gone and had been left with a trusted person/family/sitter, etc. and that person was gone when parents got home as well.

ETA Babbling Brook ....... could you live on a street with a more childlike, fun, joyful name than that ? It should be a glorious life.

IMO - BBM doesn't necessarily mean he didn't know. Lots of parents involved in the abduction/harm/murder pretend to search for their missing child, knowing people would wonder why they didn't.

I'm not trying to blame the parents. I swear... Just adding to the conversation!

If she was in the back of a truck and there was no tailgate, she could have slid out while making a corner, Im sorry I dont even want to say that :(

I could see how that would happen. I just have a hard time wrapping my head around someone driving a dead body around in a pickup without a tailgate.

I hope LE has a press conference soon to clear up somethings. We need clarification on the "decomp" comment, it could be bad reporting right out of the shoot.........

So they riding around with a dead body in the back of a pickup truck? Even it was covered by a tarp, all it takes is some wind or a turn to take the tarp off the body, and everyone driving around you sees it. I would think that when you transport a body, you put it in one of the trunks that the cars (not SUVS) have.

I didn't say it was a good idea. The perp vehicle has been defined as a pick up truck.

This makes sense for why she was in an intersection and it also leads me to believe this red truck has no tailgate , right? It would have to be very bumpy terrain otherwise and it's clearly not, so I'm imagining the truck flew around the corner at a stop sign.

I'm also wondering if the truck crossed some railroad tracks. I've seen some trucks that cross the tracks near my house and either the tailgates will fall down, stuff almost bounces out of the bed even though the tailgate is up, or in one case a delivery truck lost is entire back bumper. Lights and all.

I'm in Dallas, but yeah this story is odd. Isnt it possible they reported their daughter missing after they saw the body on the news. I know i'm cynical, but too many parents murdering their kids. I hope I'm wrong.

Honestly this is why I think the body accidentally fell out of the truck and they didn't even know it! I think once they got to the intended dumpsite, she was gone, and so the person who did this had to do some quick covering up.

I really hate this case. :(

Does the child have injuries that would be consistent with falling out a car instead of being placed on the road? I would think so...

Regarding decomp: The CNN article gives a local affiliate as its source. From link just upthread:

KTVT said the body was decomposed, making it difficult for officials to determine the child's gender.

However, the KTVT writeup does not mention anything about the sentence above.

If they didn't know the body fell out...how was the tarp still covering the entire body? It just seems kind of odd that the body falls out, and the tarp falls out to, perfectly on top of the body. I'm not saying it's not possible, just that you would think the tarp would be off a bit, and part of the little girl's body would be in open view. Or even that the little girl would be on top of the tarp instead.

For those interested I know this local channel www.myfoxdfw.com carries it's noon broadcast live on their website. The other local channels may as well, but I don't know for certain.

Bumping my own post for those who want to watch in 2 min the news will be on live. I'm going to watch a different network to see if they say anything new !

In many of the suburban areas, these neighborhoods are filled with young families. Kids still play in the streets, especially in these types of neighborhoods off the beaten path.

The parents probably had eaten, and their daughter was outside playing. A cool front has come through North Texas and it has been very pleasant the past few evenings.

7:30 - 7:45 is when it is getting dark here. Parents would start calling their kids from outside. After about 10 minutes, they'd start looking, possibly walking up and down a block or two. Then, they'd start calling friends if they couldn't find the child.

I can see a kid playing outside, alone, a person comes upon them and a crime of opportunity presents itself to one so inclined. This area is near enough rural fields that someone could take a child and move to a vacant field fairly quickly.

Looking at Google street view, there are a lot of red pickups in the 2-3 block area near the child's home.

Hopefully that green splatter of paint doesn't wash off easily.

The tarp will play a part. They either had to purchase a tarp, or had one in the truck already. If they were a painter, they would have the tarp already. I'd look at people in the area where the child lived who were having their houses painted, especially the exterior. That would be about the time of day someone would be finishing up a paint job. That would explain the paint spot on the truck and having the tarp. They should also check area stores that sold a tarp between 7:00 and 8:45 Monday evening.

I've only seen CNN report on the decamp. Who knows, the body could have just been bloated from the heat, but they called it that? It's quite possibly wrong... it's happened before with CNN!! :)

DEVELOPING: "How can somebody hurt a little girl?" said Katie Whiddon, the aunt and mother of two boys who discovered the body of a young girl in a Saginaw neighborhood Monday night. "Anybody? How can you hurt a little boy, a little girl, adult, anybody? What did she do to deserve to die?"

The tarp is not perfectly on top of the body. It's half wrapped half undone.

Well... they haven't said. But I don't think that it's a far reach to assume she fell out of the back of the truck, since she was in the middle of the road. It may be hard to tell what injuries were sustained during her assault, and what could have come from falling from the truck.

Looks to me the truck stopped at the stop sign and when it took off, the body fell out.
